I went in with my 3 month old daughter thinking I'd have a little bit of a wait at around 10am. Nope. There was no availability until 230pm!!!! So I asked if it'd be better for me just to take her to the emergency room, and the receptionist said it'd be about the same wait time! I was able to be seen after explaining what was going on with my daughter and a nurse agreed to squeeze us in. I appreciated the nurse and the doctor as they were very nice and understanding, but the fact still remains that there's really no walk-in availability. For my medical needs, I'm just going to have to go somewhere else as this does not suit my personal needs.

Do yourself a favor and check yourself in online by selecting an actual appointment time. The clinic does still take walk-ins, but your wait time will be much longer if you simply walk in. I also recommend choosing a very early morning appointment. My appointment was at 9:45am and there were only a few others waiting when I arrived. By the time I left my appointment (10:15am) the waiting room was packed. Dr. Niemeyer was great and even apologized for running late. In the short period of time I spent with her I liked her so much that I'd even choose her as my primary care Dr., although I'm not sure she does that. There were some pretty sick people waiting to be seen before me, and I didn't mind waiting. I appreciated the apology from Dr., nonetheless. I was in and out in 45minutes or so. Recommend this location because they're efficient and everyone was friendly. Big kudos because staff were constantly sanitizing the waiting room, exam rooms, and pretty much everything else on a regular basis (mind you, I was only there 45 minutes and saw this occur multiple times). If you are contagious, do yourself and everyone else a favor and wear a mask and sanitize your hands. Recommend.

If you don't have a family doctor or you don't want to go to the ER then you can go to any urgent care St. Luke's has two or three in Cedar Rapids, and Mercy has two or three in Cedar Rapids. The nurse's doctors and everyone at this practice were really professional respectful and helpful.

Then another 4 hours to finally admitted her surgery went smooth but she is allergic to the glue and was on her chart and we discussed with the nurse and they still used it. Later that night of surgery they wanted to get her up to walk, it had now been around 15 hour and still no one had gotten her up to walk. also thru the night they only gave IV pain meds but the chart says to alternate between IV and oral. Also she left room to get a scan and when she came back to the roon no one hooked up her IV, we she to ask twice before some one came in. Everything just moves so so slow. If he said okay, majority of the time X symptoms like this, but yes, they can also result from Y, that would be more scientific and actually evidence-based medicine. Medications weren't posed as empiric treatment with the possibility that his hunch could also be wrong. It is actually not possible to be 100% certain that something must be due to X disease process with ZERO tests to either rule in or rule out one's differentials. Yes, most of the time, it's not zebras. But it is hubris to then conclude that there is no possibility clinical signs are caused by something other than one's initial hunch.

Called Dr. Allen this morning to advise 24 hours had passed and no one had even prescribed an antibiotic at his office or the ER, which was unusual since he seemed certain enough of infection to send me to the ER, and am still waiting for a callback hours later. If you need actual medical care, go somewhere else. If you want to be infuriated by incompetence, the runaround and a final diagnosis of 'follow up with your regular doctor', then throw you $$$$ away on these clowns. NEVER AGAIN will I be this stupid!!!

I was seen by a doctor that took less than 5 minutes to assess me, said she was sending me for an x-ray because I had decreased breath sounds. She said she would call me with the results that day or the next one after results were read. NO PHONE CALL CAME. Two days after I called and said they posted the results in my-chart. I should just take some over the counter meds. I called my doctor (who works for Mercy), she got me in, and was ASTOUNDED that they didn't take any other tests and I ended up needing prednisone and antibiotics to clear things up. VERY disappointing service.

This is quite literally my generations worst nightmare when it comes to medical care as nearly every person I know has had their physical health blamed on mental health instead of exploring the opposite idea that their declining physical health could be what is affecting their mental health. I was in a few weeks ago, feeling extremely sick, presented with a bunch of symptoms including: sore throat, head/face pressure, muscle pain, fatigue and the concern that this KEEPS happening and I am CONSTANTLY sick. She chose to focus solely on fatigue and she gaslit me into questioning if the reason I was feeling this way is due to being a stay at home mom and not having "enough adult interaction." She said and I quote, "we all love our kids but if I had to be home with my kids all day every day, I'd want to bash my head off a wall." She never once looked at my throat or in my ears. Needless to say, I got better then got WORSE, and I now am being treated for an ear infection, serious sinus infection, and developed a horrible fever due to not being treated properly for almost a month. I have had to do my own research and push and advocate everything for myself, asking for further testing and referrals as she has not given in depth investigation on her own. She knows I have anxiety so she blames everything I deal with on anxiety. I would NOT recommend her if you would like a doctor who has good bedside manner, actually lets you finish speaking without cutting you off, truly listens to you and wants to put in the work to get to the bottom of your issues.
