Meredith College is a great neighbor. I regularly walk the Raleigh Reedy Creek Greenway through the campus. It is clean, safe, pavement fairly level (a few spots roots are erupting the surface) and offers wooded, as well as, open and sunny portions. Open dusk to dawn only. I could not believe that my Meredith had not been reviewed so here it goes... I hope that I can give it the review it deserves. Meredith College, located in the heart of Raleigh, NC, just miles away from NC State is a female college that truly is my lifesaver! I was one of those girls who said in high school, "there is no way I will ever go to an all girls college". I started at UNC-W and realized, a little too late, that there was no way I would be able to graduate, let alone, have a substantial life that did not include nightly drink specials and lying out in the sun on the beach all day, while somehow wondering how many classes I could get in without failing. After 4 years of UNCW and realizing that I was still somewhere in my sophmore year, I transferred to Meredith. After all, it's an all girls college, what would distract me? From the day of applying, I was treated like a true Meredith Angel! I wasn't making appointments with staff to talk about my classes, majors, and registrations, I was making friends....lifelong friends! I planned my first semester, wondering if the tradition and cornhusking would deter me away from finishing out my college career here and before you know it, I am knee deep in Meredith events, literally wanting to go to each class, everyday! I couldn't wait to see what else I could become involved in! Meredith prides itself on tradition and values. It honestly is the opposite of the stuffiness that everyone thinks it is. Everyone is accepted as there is a high expectation of being respectful to others as well as yourself. I majored in Sociology and served on the Meredith College sociology club board as well as was awared the 2002 Erika Woodlief Student Leadership award. If you would have asked me before coming to Meredith if I would have even done anything other than go to class, do my work, and get the hell out of there, I would have thought you were crazy! I couldn't wait to get my Meredith ring which I swore on day one that I would not take part in those traditions! A degree from Meredith College is highly respected and admired in the business world. Meredith is reknowned for it's research department as many majors conclude with a research thesis from its students. Most courses at Meredith are writing intensive and require a great deal of work. Don't expect to cruise through Meredith expecting to ride on your pretty looks! I graduated from Meredith in 2002 and walked away accrediting Meredith for literally saving my life! I later married my husband at Jones Chapel, wanting to have Meredith in that special day of my life as well. I am who I am today due to the lessons learned, relationships made, and supportive faculty from Meredith College. I am thankful to have experienced Meredith and get that warm feeling everytime I go back on campus to visit my previous professors. I love, love, love this place! read more

Really a great school with awesome people. I've never been to an institution that was this personal amongst students, faculty, and staff. The professors really work with you and make time for you if you ever need help. Everyone I've met so far is very friendly and approachable. My only complaints would be that there isn't a whole of space to study. The library is quite small, and many people come to study/work on projects together, so it's a bit noisy. Also, this is not a high tech atmosphere. If you're looking for unlimited Macs and fancy lecture halls/seating, I suggest you go elsewhere. In addition, this is not a place that is recognized for prestigious research or anything. But don't get me wrong, these people do great work for their students and community. As a grad student, I'd have to say, their tuition is so, so worth it. Very affordable and they also offer assistantships. Reaching out and making a difference here is easy if you commit to it. I am a Meredith angel. Class of 1987. I applied early decision,went in for a tour,and was accepted. Did not even bother applying anywhere else. I knew it was a perfect fit. My degree is in art but my education from Meredith is much more than art. Living with four girls for four years created lasting friendships similar to a sisterhood. My memories include,of course,cornhuskin, big sister /little sister, the black onyx ring, the ladies in the cafeteria, the daisy chain, Canterbury Tales, Dr.Knight, Dr.Rose, Dr.Jackson, Dr.Green, Dr.Greenburg, Dr.White,and much more. Genuinely wish I was able to experience the Meredith that everyone else has. This school has covered up all the ugly so they can suck your money out of you. Theres mold everywhere in the residence halls, bugs and hair are constantly found in the dining hall food and classrooms are falling to part (heaters barely hanging onto the wall and water stains/rust everywhere). I wish someone would have told me not to come here cause I was definitely lied to in my tour here, not to mention that most professors and staff refuse to help the students and shame you for reaching out for help. Save yourself from this school and your money. read more

Meredith College is an all women's liberal arts college located in Raleigh. The masters program is coed. They have multiple sports teams. The new science and math building is state of the art. I absolutely love Meredith College. Aside from being a little biased, the actual campus is breath taking. You forget when you're on campus that you're in the heart of Raleigh, NC. I just needed to write a few things about Meredith here. I just graduated with the Class of 2013 with my degree in Psychology/Biology. From the moment I started at Meredith as an adult student, I was welcomed with open arms! The requirements that Meredith has are strict, but they are there to challenge you and make you think. The professors are very understanding to students that care about their education and want to achieve success! The research program is great and full of opportunities for students to reach greatness. As for social life, Meredith is smaller than most schools, but getting involved in the clubs and organizations fill the students time. Cornhuskin, Stunt, Class Day and other Meredith traditions are great ways to get involved. I loved my years at Meredith and made great friends that I will keep for a long time to come. read more
