Here is the follow up email: Michelle, I am following up in regards to your voicemail that you left me on my phone Friday, October 28th at 2:33 pm. In this voicemail you referenced "missing and broken items". You stated that you had pictures that made it quite "obvious" that there was a complete and total lack of "caring for other people and their property". I want to address this directly to you via email instead of leaving another nasty, inappropriate, and unprofessional voicemail. I would like to talk about the lack of clarity in the contract and the "deplorable state" in which I assembled the plateware. I was not made aware of how to properly return the dishes. In the contract, it states, "have equipment ready for pickup as it was dropped off". There were no actual instructions on what to do with the dishes specifically. I was only informed that the dishes needed to be scraped off because I paid the $80 cleaning fee. If I am paying extra money for a cleaning fee, which is different from a sanitizing fee, please help me understand how the minimal food that was left with the dishes was an issue. Also, if the dishes were not "properly stored" and set right next to the nicely stacked racks, why did your delivery people not take extra time to put these dishes in the racks and charge me a fee for services? This seems like an internal issue that you need to address with your delivery and pick up team. I was coordinating and speaking with Kim before I ever received your nasty voicemail. Kim never stated to me that items were missing on the first phone call. I personally made sure that everything was nicely stowed away and as clean as I could get them even though I paid a $80 dollar cleaning fee as mentioned above. It's my understanding that your company didn't come to retrieve your items until two (2) days after the event ended. To be clear, my beautiful reception was held in a working barrelhouse. This means that workers are coming in and out of this barrelhouse to retrieve needed items. I can not guarantee that an employee or your delivery drivers knocked over or damaged your items. As unfortunate as this is, I am not responsible for this. My advice to you going forward is to pay attention to where you are sending your items and making sure your delivery team is on the same page and getting your inventory in a timely manner to prevent this from happening again. Please feel free to send me the pictures that you mentioned in your voicemail. I am assuming that you are waiving the 128 dollar fee due to you having no basis in your claims. The unfortunate thing for you is that if you were polite to me in your voicemail I would have paid the fee because that is the type of person I am. I am assuming you didn't think about this because this is not the type of person you are Michelle. All that being said, my final issue with you, Michelle, is your attitude and unprofessionalism. I have never once in my life deliberately disrespected someone or their belongings. Unfortunately, this can not be said for you Michelle. You have never spoken to me or my husband before your voicemail. It's unfortunate that such a nasty individual works for a company that assists people for the most special occasions. The only good news was that I enjoyed working with Kim. However, I, along with everyone included in my wedding party that assisted with the set up / clean up has been sent your voicemail. Great service all the way around. Excellent contact from the office before event. Tent was clean. Linens were as ordered. Process to put it up was fast and efficient. Tent and equipment take down was also excellent. The three guys all asked how our event was, which they didn't have to do. We were very pleased with their services. Would recommend!! read more

I really dislike leaving negative reviews but Meredith Party Rentals has greatly disappointed me. Let me start by saying I have rented from them 3-4 times over the last ten years without issue. Unfortunately my order of tables and chairs for a family reunion on August 17th were delivered covered with mud, mustard and ketchup on the chairs. While my goal was to ease the burden of party preparation, this required my niece to clean all chairs. I was very embarrassed!! At any rate, more disappointing...when I called on Monday to share this issue the woman on the phone acted as if I was as being dishonest and said, "well I will have to talk to the delivery manager and they will get back to you". Absolutely no apology or friendly attitude. It has been more than a week without a return call. Very bad customer service response. I will not rent from then again due to this very unprofessional behavior and I hope all others do the same to avoid dirty deliveries!! read more

We rented almost everything for our wedding through Meredith's. This saved us a lot of money as getting these items from our vendor or caterer would have costed more. We picked everything up the day before the wedding and our reception was completely beautiful. The only reason I would not give them 5 stars is because their delivery people completely messed up the arrangement of our chairs at our ceremony. We got married at the Toledo Botanical Gardens so we were required to rent chairs through Meredith's. I spoke to someone on the phone and gave them a diagram but 30 minutes before we got married I started receiving photos from my photographer and the whole layout was completely wrong. We had three sections of chairs separated by two main isles and one isle was about 25ft wide towards the back and 10ft wide in the front while the other one was barely 3-4ft wide. I know that our chair layout was unique but I'm not entirely sure how anyone could look at the way they arranged them and think that it was okay. If I could re-do that day I would have had someone at the gardens to meet them when they arrived to be sure everything was set up properly. Also they DID end up refunding set up and tear down fees (about $100) after I called and complained. read more
