Your opinion and view may differ from mine regarding this firm. Based upon my recent experience, I cannot recommend them for domestic matters. Here is why.
I hired this firm at the recommendation of another attorney to deal with a matter with my ex wife. I knew going in that the case could go either way and was prepared for this. What I wasn't prepared for was their incompetence in court and thereafter. There was no prep with me before court, no meeting prior, nothing. Then they brought in two lawyers, charged me for both, and I sat and watched the lead attorney bumble through Q&A like she did not even know the case. I was charged for both lawyers on the clock although I never requested two to begin with. I sat there as opposing counsel threw out false statements to the judge without a single objection from my "attorneys" or a chance to respond with the actual truth. Since this was a hearing on a motion to dismiss, both lawyers were instructed to prepare documents in ten days time so the judge could render a decision.
The worst part is that the judge rendered his decision in early June and I wasn't informed by my attorneys of the verdict until July 8, or 35 days later, i.e., outside the time window for an appeal. Also, the judge's findings of fact were in error but no questions were posed or raised. I had inquired about the status of the case after the hearing and no one at D&A seemed to know the case was decided and filed with the clerk in June. When I asked about the timing aspect I was informed "to their knowledge" they were never sent a copy from the judge or opposing counsel and that no certificate of service was issued.
I accept losing and I told them so. What I don't accept is what I perceive as incompetence. It is incredulous to think an attorney would not know the outcome of their own case until 35 days after a judgement is rendered. I've testified many times in court as an expert in my field and of all the law firms I have dealt with over the years, this one is by far the worst. Every single lawyer I have encountered, either for personal or business matters, has always insisted on going over the case in detail prior to court, depositions or hearings. I emailed the firm before we went to court and was told there was nothing to discuss and to show up 15 min before court. Meanwhile, when I arrived my ex-wife was sitting in a room with her attorney prepping and discussing the case. My attorney arrived approximately five minutes before court started and she informed me we'd discuss the case after the judge called the calendar.
