She was very thorough in her review of my initial questionnaire and in her follow up questions based on my responses. My second visit was just as great and I was extremely satisfied with the lab results and the treatment plan prescribed. The rest of the office staff are so friendly and welcoming. I think under normal circumstances I would have loved to proceed with a treatment here but when I walked in, the first worker I met there at the front desk was not wearing a mask. For a medical center that has signs posted on their front door claiming they are taking precautions against COVID, I was alarmed the office was not promoting mask use. I thought this misfortune would end at the door, yet when Melissa Altman RN then met me for my appointment and was also not wearing one at all, she told me I could take mine off if it made me feel comfortable which obviously it did not and she didn't put on a mask to meet my comfort level displayed. I can't proceed with a medical treatment by professionals that are not even taking the virus seriously. Otherwise I think I would've continued with Merge Medical. read more

When I had mysterious pain and couldn't figure out what was wrong with my body, she took the time to thoroughly investigate and diagnose me with Lyme Disease (after probably 20 years undiagnosed). I have been a patient for nearly one year. I am working with Dr. Lovegrove more with long term preventative care than specific health problems. I appreciate his philosophy about health care. He is very knowledgeable in a number of areas and takes time to explain why he recommends various supplements. Dr. Lovegrove's staff is professional but personable. They have helped me to set up accounts with their preferred vendors and make special arrangements to work around my schedule when picking up supplements. Now I will admit there is one nurse you need to watch out for (to respect her privacy, I will refer to her as Nursezilla). She loves to draw blood. Dr. Lovegrove at Merge Medical Center has made a huge impact on my once problematic shoulder through Prolotherapy. This after spending several months undergoing traditional 2x/week PT and electric stim treatment at a physical therapy center recommended by my orthopedist. After months of PT and following stretching regimen, saw only slight improvement and spent A LOT of time and money along the way. Had basically resigned myself to having a 'bum' shoulder. Someone at my office asked if I ever looked into Prolotherapy, never heard of it. I did some research and was intrigued and went back to that coworker who was a patient of Merge Medical. I made an appointment and Dr. Lovegrove performed a strength/flexibility test and determined I'd be a good candidate for Prolotherapy. Fast-forward just a couple of months and following two treatments my shoulder feels better than it has in years! Strength/flexibility are vastly improved, almost back to 100%. Merge has many specialties under on roof. I went there for weight loss. I was feeling hopeless and desperate. Dr. Stydinger met with me. He is knowledgeable and patient. We went over my history very thoroughly and my goals. He was flexible with a payment plan. I went in weekly to check in, go over the challenges may have had and get a vitamin B shot. I can say that I was never hungry and felt better during the 6 months than I could remember feeling. Lots of energy and positive feelings from watching the scale move. I lost about 60 pounds in 6 month and 9 inches around my waist! It's not an exaggeration to say I am transformed! The program works and Dr. Stydinger doesn't keep you waiting, is attentive and you genuinely feel like he cares that you succeed. My daughter set up a consultation for PCOS. She was told that she needed to pay $100 for the visit (which she did prior) and that it was a $150 p/month to be a part of their practice. We both went to her appointment and while I was waiting for her I received a text that she needed to pay nearly $300 more and that there were also other additional costs. Upon discussing this, she was told she owed an additional $150 for the visit and nearly $140 for vitamins. They also wanted to charge $600 for a stool sample kit and a few hundred for blood work. All of this was discussed AFTER she spoke with the doctor and not BEFORE. After the discussion the doctor and the lady seemed very annoyed that we would question these additional charges and seemed not to understand why we wanted to wait for her to join the practice on a monthly basis. After they doctor and the employed had a talk they told my daughter she was not a "fit" for their practice. We both felt very deceived by the lack of communication and what to expect especially since they waited until after her appointment to spring all of this on her. Maybe a more professional approach would be to have a phone consultation PRIOR to the appointment so a potential patient will have the information necessary to make a more informed decision on whether or not they want to proceed with this practice. read more

I see Dr Lovegrove for elbow pain and receive Prolotherapy treatments. He is very thorough in examining the areas of pain and takes the time to explain the issue and treatment, as well as listen to my descriptions and input. Even though the injections hurt, Dr Lovegrove makes sure that I am comfortable. I feel confident in his care and am very pleased that he is as determined as I am to get me to an elbow-pain-free state :) His office is in a convenient location in Mt Pleasant and the receptionist, Katie, is very friendly and caring too.
