Even though my son was a brand new patient, Aurora Dental found a way to squeeze him in the very same day. They made the entire process incredibly easy by transferring our insurance information from my existing account, keeping the new patient paperwork simple, and getting us checked in without unnecessary stress. The front desk team was genuinely welcoming, compassionate, and kind. They understood how worried we were and treated our son with such patience and care. Instead of feeling like just another appointment, we felt like family. In healthcare, technical skill matters, but so does compassion. Aurora Dental demonstrated both today. I had to get quite a few fillings done, in which I don't have a high pain tolerance, so I was pretty nervous about these, but knew I had to get them done. Dr. Oxspring did a wonderful job with my teeth and I had way less pain than I expected to have. It was needed due to sedative medication, so I was instructed not to drive myself. I am provided transportation thru insurance exactly for that reason but she couldn't be bothered and that was distressing and diminishing. She barked at me dismissively to, "get a friend or neighbor to drive you!". Problem was I had recently moved to Palmer and my appointment was at 7 am! Who wants to have a friend skip work, get up at 4 or 5 am, drive from anchorage to sit and wait for me to have a crown put on? Other than her obstinate rude attitude, everything else was top notch and the new clinic is beautiful! Packed with impressive technology like a machine that makes your crown in minutes! Dr. Mann has a beautiful heart and skilled hand and never hurt me once! I do think he should not rely on such a cold hearted woman to run his business though, no telling how many patients she has run off. She is the sole reason I couldn't give him the five stars he deserves, but I'm honest to a fault! Hopefully you won't have to deal with her and the rest of the front office staff are wonderfully warm, helpful, attentive and very easy to deal with. Military Dental authorizes TWO teeth cleanings per year. After relocating to Alaska, I contacted Alaska Premier Dental and set an appt. for my teeth cleaning. I was also due for x-rays according to my insurance so those were done first after I arrived. I was then met by a hygienist who did a check of my gums and decided that I needed some dental scaling and root planing ---which, was very odd as I have had my teeth cleaned bi-annually for over a decade and have never had issues. Honestly, I can appreciate that they might be one or two spots due to coffee consumption that needed done, but to hear them talk, my mouth was about to fall apart and I had to have all this extra stuff done urgently! Of course...the other stuff is OUT OF POCKET and not covered by military dental. They sent one of their people to confront me while I was still in the chair to try and coerce me into this extra service. I repeatedly asked if they could JUST DO THE CLEANING that insurance covers 100% as that is what my appointment was for and they refused. Let me make it clear that their "rooms" aren't rooms at all but more like cubicles and I was being talked to within hearing range of other patients. I honestly felt bullied and coerced. So, I got up and walked out without ever seeing the dentist. On the recommendation of my neighbor I called another dentist and went to see them the same day to fill out new patient paperwork and show them the services that Alaska Premier Dental was insisting I needed and the costs. They made an appointment for me for the next day (they had a cancellation while I was standing there!) and the next day they CLEANED MY TEETH. I am going back for some scaling/planing work now that I have had time to work it into my budget. I cannot believe the way I was treated at this Dentist's office. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time with a staff that has no sense of decorum in dealing with patients and certainly doesn't take into account patient privacy.

His care and skill made all that drilling and grinding, pain free. For that alone, I recommend him, but he seemed to be a competent and confident doc. His assistant Peggy was knowledgeable and skillful also, and they were both pleasant which put me at ease as much as I could be. Meridian Park Oral surgery even confirmed with daughter that it would be $90. When we get to appointment today they said it was $209. I asked what happened to the $90 we were both told on the phone and she went and talked to someone and came back and said sorry for any misunderstanding it's $209. I asked what my husband's is going to be next week and they printed out a paper showing it was $936 after insurance. This is crazy!! Why would you tell someone over the phone a very low price and then triple the cost when they come in for their appt? It's not even close!! People need to be able to save up for this kind of stuff as everything is super expensive these days. We proceeded with my daughter's appt which went well. Doctors, nurse and staff all polite.
