If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. I went to the ER in the middle of the night. Told the receptionist that my pain level was a 10 and I felt like I was going to have an aneurysm. 10-15 minutes later they took me to triage. The nurse took my temperature and blood pressure. That's it! I sat in a room for one hour and fifteen minutes without seeing ANYONE. I politely went to the nurses station, cut my wristband off and threw it in the trash. I went back to my hotel and started taking more aspirin. Then one month later, I received a bill for over $1,000... These people are hilarious. Please shut that hospital down. Under the guidance of my attorney, I advised them to leave me alone or I would be taking legal action. read more

Surgery today was the most stress free surgical experience of my life. The team from the pre op to post op was amazing. These people were professional but interactive and considerate. Real bad experience in the ER here with my one year old with Dr. Thomas Geisenheimer Jr. My one year old had a 105 degree fever, nurse blew out veins in both arms and was never able to IV her, doctor ordered a Covid Test, then after not giving us results for 7 hours told us to never come back to the ER again because there's no treatment for Covid and because a fever is never an emergency. He told us to go to our Pediatrician instead of the ER, here's a basic rundown of the events. 1) we went in at 19:00 on a Friday night, pediatrician isn't open then 2)wait in ER for 7 hours with nurse blowing out veins in both of our one year olds arms, never gets fluids, etc, dirty needles and entire needle tray left in our room all night. 3) We ask to leave because no one has talked to use for a few hours, last test was sent to testing 2 hours ago and ER is empty at this point. 4) Doctor refused to give us the Covid results telling us "there's no treatment for it so the results don't matter, go home and don't come back here with a baby with a fever again, that's never an emergency, go to your pediatrician" 5) Doctor literally stood up and gestured at me like come over this counter and fight me and proceeded to start what can only be described as a 2-3 minute barroom-style frat boy "come fight me bro" shit slinging match with me literally as we were walking out of the ER, he followed me out of his desk area to pick the fight. 6) I feel I must have had a stroke or something and am in a lucid dream because this was the strangest experience I've ever had with a medical professional, even after 10 years in the service I've never seen a doctor try to fight someone with a baby or refuse to give someone a test result. The guys license should be pulled by the DO Board. Absolutely bizarre experience. Needless to say we will not being going back here again and will be writing some letters. read more

The nurse was talking about why my daughter was there and the other nurse turned around and shouted out loud like oh that was an accident. Horrible experiences every time my mother has to come here, which unfortunately has been more and more frequent. This current visit she was admitted, and on day 2 she fell in the bathroom and seriously hurt her back and hip. 2 days later, when she complained and they had not checked it out or given her any pain meds for the injury, she says "the pain is so bad she just wants to die" so they put her on suicide watch and take all her possessions including her phone. NOT ACCEPTABLE AT ALL. Then this RN tells me last night she is not getting her phone back and I said then I need to take her somewhere else. He tells me "Take her somewhere else, and my name is Richard Webb, and don't you forget it" I am baffled at this and I am headed to talk to the highest level management I can find in addition to contacting the nursr licensing board to make a complaint. Then to make it even worse, they put in a report that she had fallen and injured herself prior to arriving at the hospital!!! LIARS! read more

I received a fraudulent bill from this hospital. I have never been seen or admitted to this location.

We had to come in twice to the ER. The first visit was okay. We had to return at 4 in the morning and unfortunately it has been the worst experience we've ever had. My wife continued to get worse and the response was he's seeing other patients. When I just saw him laughing and joking with the nurses. The nurses seem to spend more time laughing and carrying on at their station than helping patients. Saw the doctor and he seems to have more fun laughing and kidding around with one of the nurses. I'm really thankful that I don't live here. The doctor just came in and said "if you're having issues then maybe we should just admit you." This is the comment we get instead of trying to help the patient. He had no desire in helping her. Then just walked out of the room. Be careful if you decide to go here for treatment. So thankful that we'll never have to see these unprofessional people again. Dr Fordam is the worst of all of them. If he comes in to assist all I can say is run away as quickly as possible. read more

Came to the emergency room due to chest pains. The person at checkin kept asking for information, even though it was hard to breathe and answer the questions. The security guard helped to get me a chair once he understood why I was there. Then I had to wait for a triage nurse to take me back to a room. Once in a room I was hooked up to all the monitors and was still asked questions, again hard to breathe and answer. I was told that I was going to be there for monitoring for 3 hours and have blood drawn every hour. I had a chest xray, blood drawn and then everyone disappeared. I was there for 4 hours had blood drawn twice and NEVER saw a doctor and had to login to the patient portal to get the results of my own blood draws. Overall the WORST care I have ever received at any hospital. Unless NO OTHER CHOICE do not recommend. read more

This is Merit Health Hospital in Biloxi Ms. I will start with the ER. The stains on the white sheets we not change until 3 ppl say in it including myself. I ask the nurse when leaving the room to change. he didn't change it until the 3rd person left. After I was sent to room 1 with the pictures below. It was filthy the table old cookies on the floor the chairs were dirty with sticky stuff on it. after I was sent to the trauma room where an old bandage was still on the bed ! I waited 3 hours before I went into the trauma room because one nurse told me they only give rooms for patients in critical or need immediate care. Which was a lie brv another sent me to the trauma room. The nurses on the 6th were rude and o recorded every conversation .my nurse Amanda was rude my nurse Michelle walked out after me asking for a supervisor . I was not given proper care and they never treated me for my dialysis for 5 days. It's a lot of other things that have happened it toomuch too type ! This place is a joke. I went yesterday to the er and was taken back to triage the last has bad manors and wouldn't barely talk to you. Then she put me in the "fast track" waiting room. Not only was it really warm in there and I heard others complaining about the heat too but they were treating patients in the same room. They gave the lady next to me a shot in her leg. That is so unsanitary to treat someone in a room full of sick people. They swabbed me three times because they mixed My swab with another patients. After the third time the nurse came in and tried to give me a shot in the same waiting room. I declined and she got irritated because it was just a shot in the arm. After she walked out the doctor came back in and asked me to step in the hall. She then told me the lab didn't ha e time to do my swab so she was just going to treat me for what she thought I had. The nurse then proceeded to give me my shot while I was standing up in the hallway next to the er exit doors. I do not recommend this place to anyone. This place looks very dirty and unprofessional sounds like some malpractice that needs to be looked into. read more

I don't even know where to start. I went to the Merit Health Hospital to perform a test. I was told that the test was going to be $225 and I must pay at least 40% to get the test done. I paid $100 and I was told that I will be getting a bill for remaining $125. when I got the bill it was $450. I went to the hospital to find out why the bill was $250 higher. the billing manager refused to meet with me twice. I contacted State Attorney General office for help. they contacted the hospital twice and they ignored the Attorney General Office's letters. then I was contacted by the bill collectors and the harassment started. 10/01/2020 - First of all the staff here are Great. Their system of appointment is not so great. If I can give negative star it will be that. My Appointment was at 1:00 P.M. got here at 12:50 not what they ask come 15min early I come late 10 min early, after 1:45 pm came and I haven't been seen. They finally call me in at 2:13pm. 3:PM now and I'm now getting out of this hospital for a Pre-op for surgery on Wednesday. How is that make any sense. Why have appointment at 1pm to get seen at 2:13 pm. I don't know. First time coming to this hospital and I'm not impressed with their appointment scheduling system. Extremely traumatic experience with Nurse Ratchet over a simple urine test for a new job. Treated like I was a criminal. Extremely poor communication prior to going in, nurse was matter of fact and caused continuous misunderstandings. Was locked in and treated like I was a criminal. The security guard as I was in distress and asked to speak to a nurse, in front of myself, a witness, and a room of patients stated that I was talking all crazy. That's not the sort of help or respect I need when going to the hospital. He was rude, and hateful. Dont entrust your safety there if they cant even speak to the patients with grace. Now I know why they have a low rating. Was taken there by ambulance to their ER due to my tongue swelling, I was visiting from Florida. I KNOW I gave them my insurance card. I got a bill stating they did not have my insurance on file. Called and gave them all the info. Two weeks later I get a bill DEMANDING payment. I called again and was told they had no insurance on file. So I give the girl all the info AGAIN. She tells me that my ID number through AARP United Health is saying I have no coverage. I've had this insurance for 8 years. I have now been on hold for over 5 minutes waiting to speak to a supervisor. Then I was told she was in a meeting...another joke. STAY AWAY....unless you are willing to pay an outrageous ER bill because they cannot get their billing correct! I was here a week ago and had phenomenal care, so I hate having to leave this review now. I was in the main lobby waiting room for over an hour and then brought back to another waiting room with 4 other people waiting to be seen. One by one they talked to each of us in the room with no privacy about what brought us in. Told each of us we needed an X-ray, and that they would come get us as it was ready. Then about 5 minutes later another nurse walks into this waiting room and literally hands me a pee cup in front of everyone and says I need you to pee in this first and then bring it back to my desk and then you can go sit back in your chair. I now have been here for over 2 hours. No histories from anyone, and no privacy either. This is by far the worst "health" care I've ever received. read more

HORRIBLE hospital. Went to the ER with chest pain , left arm pain, blood pressure up, & shaking from hypertension. Sat in the waiting room for almost 2 hours then finally got back to a room & was ONLY SEEN BY NURSES. NEVER SAW A DOCTOR. They took X-rays & ekg & blood work hen released me and the Dr called me while I was being brought home & said I slept on my shoulder wrong, when this has been going on for a while & I know for a fact it's coming from something wrong with my bowels & not my shoulder. Wouldn't even listen to me. Dr didn't even examine me. This is the closest hospital to where I live so I rush here if somethings wrong but never again. I had the misfortune of being cared for by the ER here for a simple laceration repair. Reasonably prompt even though it wasn't busy at all. 3 months later my insurance pays a claim for $2200 out of a bill for $2400 - ok, ridiculous but that's our healthcare system. This is followed by another bill from the ER physician group for an additional charge to me of $957 on top of that - including a $515 charge for a joke of a NP to attempt to close my wound with Dermabond I'd rather buy my own superglue and do it myself. Wow I do not know where to start...this hospital is old and showing its age. Nurses and techs are overworked understaffed. Dietary is a joke they said they were bringing grilled vegetables instead I got a chicken. They new I'm vegetarian additionally; breakfast was bacon when I asked for fruits. Doesn't matter what u order, they bring what they want not what you asked. It Seems order is sometimes done sometimes not. Trash sat in the room so long as I was there I had to report to the admin person. Overall if you want to get well, do not go here! I was in that hospital for two only had two showers. My beddings were not changed I had to ask after 5 days of being there. I would not recommend anyone to Biloxi Regional Medical Center, Biloxi, MS, as they contract Doctors who do not care about patients at the ER. The ER Doctor refused to treat me when I was very sick. When I asked for a wheelchair the staff called police on me and get me arrested. The Nurse also violated my medical records privacy act. (HIPPA) law by yelling out loud about my medical condition. Most of the patient care is done by the nurse assistances. The nurses and the aides wear close to the same color uniform and that is so you think all have a degree. No so. Gross obesity seen in a large majority of the health care workers and this explains the low productivity if you are waiting for the doctor,s orders to be carried out. Had surgery here on the 2nd. The nurses, anesthesiologist, and doctors were all friendly and very welcoming. Surgery was quick and I'm healing well. So the outpatient surgical floor/staff gets an A+++ in my book. Amazing experience. I just needed lab work and the process was so easy. I signed in on an electronic kiosk in the lobby and was taken back to be registered within 10 minutes-pretty quick for a first visit based on my experiences at other places. The staff in the registration area were all very friendly and helpful. I then went to the lab for my blood draw and the staff couldn't have been more polite and professional. The young man who took my blood was very kind and got the sample with no problem whatsoever. The whole atmosphere in the lab was calm, confident, and efficient. Merit is not a great place to seek care if you are really sick. Please avoid it like the plague. The "PA" did not examine me at all. He stood in the middle of the room and asked me to stick out my tongue. He said you will have X-rays. He did not touch me to examine my nose, throat, or listen to my respiration. The X-ray technician was kind and competent. This is the only reason I am rating this place 2 stars. I went back to my room and the nurse came in and said the doctor said you have pneumonia. I had two bad experience. I am pregnant and was in pain. Two hospital officers came to my room twice after I complained about the wait. I was kicked out after telling them I will leave after being harassed. Found out I had bronchitis at Ocean springs hospital. Later on came back to the hospital, they want me to sign some paperwork for my last visit and when I refused because they didn't provide me with any service they kicked me out again. Now they have medical collections agencies calling my phone trying to get me to pay. read more

The food here is good, but bring one dollar bills for the vending machine if you miss the cafeteria hours. Below is my letter to the CEO. "To whom it may concern, Today, my boyfriend's grandfather is being discharged from your hospital. This was our first time here, and we wanted to tell you how impressed we are with your staff. You have hired a truly excellent team of nurses and doctors. We have been very proactive at renovating Grandpa's house to make it more accessible to him, but he managed to fall in the shower and break his neck. We were stabilized at Ocean Springs and they wanted to transfer us to Pascagoula, but our experiences there were less than safe and we would only go there if it was our last option. Grandpa was put into ICU so that a halo could be put in place. My boyfriend and I expressed our concerns to Dr. Terry Smith that Grandpa really doesn't do well in hospitals, and that when his mental status declined, we would want to be at his bedside around the clock. The ICU charge nurse said it would not be best for the floor if we stayed with him in ICU, so Dr. Smith arranged to move Grandpa to Orthopedics within a few hours of the halo being in place and deciding that his position was stable. That was Friday, May 15th. We have now spent four nights in your hospital. Despite the sink not working, and the sound on the TV being broken, we are incredibly impressed. Because those things don't matter, especially when the staff made sure that we didn't want to switch rooms and did their best to accommodate us. Your staff is incredible! We would like to recognize two nurses in particular - Sarah and Cody, of the orthopedics floor. Both nurses gave meds on time. Sarah has worked with us on three day shifts. She is a true patient advocate, and was happy to explain anything we didn't understand. Sarah talked to us and made sure we were involved in Grandpa's care. Cody worked the night shift with us and he was proactively watching the room camera and came in to see if Grandpa wanted pain medication when he started fidgeting - before we woke up and noticed that he was hurting. Cody would come in every two hours with assistance from techs/nurses turning Grandpa or getting him out of bed, and we were confident that he could handle the weight. He also took instruction from us when we told him how Grandpa best responds to directions - something many healthcare professionals choose to ignore. I hope that you will consider becoming a part of the Daisy Award program, or that you will find some other way to recognize excellence in your staff. This is the first e-mail I have sent to any of the hospitals we've stayed at; we are so very impressed. Thank you for the care of Grandpa Jack." read more

I went to my PCP for a medical condition and was immediately sent to Merit Health Biloxi's Emergency Room due to a very low pulse rate. I was immediately taken back and treated with excellent care. The ER doctor was amazing along with the entire staff. The correct blood cultures and diagnostic test were conducted and my diagnosis presented to me in less than 5 hours. I actually stayed overnight for observation in which my cardiologist paid me a visit and gave me a clean bill of health. The staff in the PCU was very professional and courteous throughout my stay. I was released the next day and have made a full recovery as of this writing. I can't say enough about the excellent care I received at Biloxi Merit Health. I would strongly urge anyone needing care to visit Biloxi Merit Health!!! read more

The doctors and nurses are conflicted on basic facts, such as diagnosis and treatments, and frequently have to ask the patient about what happened previously so they know what to do. Don't drink the coffee in the front lobby no matter how good people tell you it is, it's NOT good! The cafeteria has half-decent food, but the prices are steep. If there's a problem with a patient's meal (such as getting a clear-liquid diet instead of a regular breakfast), expect it to take them a while to get you your proper meal. The techs may very well wake you at 5:30am to ask you what you drank that day and how much you urinated. Housekeeping does a poor job of cleaning the room while you're staying there. read more

People were leaving, staff made a remark saying go and leave if you want, then laughed and talked about the lady when she left. My husband had surgery here because they have the DeVinci robot. Surgery went well and the preadmission was efficient. Problems came when he was assigned to the 6th floor inpatient for 2 days. The staff was short. Very short. He was not given pain meds until it was unbearable. The nurses and technicians do not help each other. I had to bring my own help to get him out of bed. When it became dark at night no one came to even turn on a light, since the call button light switch was not operational. If you press the call button they just say they will let your nurse know. But the nurses say no one tells them they are needed. The staff complains about their pay and conditions to you constantly. Please avoid going here for in patient care or plan to bring an advocate to stay all day and night. After being at Keesler Medical Center (not for profit) the difference at Merit Hospital (for profit) was unbelievable. read more

Pt to have to wait 1and half hours for pain meds after having fluid drained off there lungs and developing a pneumothorax from the procedure and can barely breath because of the pain so they can't exercise there lungs to try and keep the lung from collapsing!!!
