Then a second waitress came to take our order and she said she just got in but wanted to jump right in to help since it was getting a little busy. I believe it was only the two of them for the entire restaurant and behind the bar...that probably explains the slow/poor service. Our food came out in a timely manner but no one came around to check on us for drinks, we had to wave her down. Even while we sat there chatting neither came around to see if we wanted more to drink. We did notice on our way out our waitress was behind the bar and the bar was full. Hubby did get a refill on his tea but when he asked for another he was told there would be a charge...for tea?? That was not expected nor appreciated, it's tea for goodness sakes. Anyway, they also don't have coffee for my coffee drinking father in law but ok he got a beer instead For the food we had the fish special, shrimp special, chicken salad and nachos. Fish and shrimp were delicious and I'd order those again in a heartbeat. Chicken salad was fresh but skimpy on the chicken (the picture showed a much more generous helping of chicken) and the nachos were not good, to put it simply. The meat was dry, very little cheese and basically a pile of chips. Cost was around $114 for 5 dinners, 2 beers, 2 mixed drinks, 1 soda and 1 tea plus a charge for the refill. There is plenty of parking out front but don't let the name fool you, you can see the bay, slightly, from the parking lot not from inside the bar. Would I come here again, maybe if I'm in the mood for a beer and just simple, good food (at least the fish and shrimp) but honestly I like a bit more atmosphere for my dining experience. Give them a try though because they do have an extensive menu and hopefully the service was slow only because of lack of workers (darn COVID-19!)

The breast on the sandwich was huge--would make two meals for most people. And while I appreciate the generosity, a hunk of meat that large takes away from the pleasure of the meal. I don't enjoy fighting to keep the meat between the pieces of the bun between each bite, The breast and the bun were a bit dry. That said, the service as impeccable. Two people were working the bar, where I sat, and they regularly checked in to see if I needed anything, and we discussed the beers on offer a bit. I probably shouldn't write the place off based on a single sandwich. The Cabin is just interesting enough that I will probably stop back.

Without a doubt, my favorite bar in Saginaw.
