The only drawback is the lack of my favorite fabrics but hey, they can't carry *everything*! Most of their fabrics are batiks, 1930s reproductions, modern prints. They also have sewing machines for sale, and do cleaning and servicing on existing machines regardless of brand. They did a wonderful job with my Elna when it developed a problem! Although, only competitive pricing I see is in NYC :) The quilts they have displayed are beautiful, and most available via kits. I believe this shop is part of a quilt hop ... I never been but I remember when I visited this shop, a quilt hop was happening that coming weekend. I haven't been here for a while. I might have to soon for some gifting projects!

I shopped around in Portsmouth and Exeter for custom window curtains and J Renee was definitely the least expensive. I was very impressed with the amount of time and patience they has as I really wasn't sure what I wanted. Their store has 100's of samples to choose from. They also have all kinds of unique furniture and knick knacks that you never see in a retail store. I fell in love with some stools and googled them to do some research. They sell the stools for less than half of what they would cost elsewhere. In the end, I was beyond satisfied with the custom job they did for me and I feel that if there was ever an issue they'd stand by their work.

She was very willing to teach me the basics using my machine, and she charged at a very reasonable class rate. She provided patterns and fabric. I finished making an snazzy apron yesterday!!! I love how it turned out! I feel very comfortable with using my machine and venturing out with other material types and stitches. Lately, I have been spending time after work into the late hours just to practice with some simple projects. It's addictive to make and create! I highly recommend her if you are looking to learn how to sew with the basics. She can provide a sewing machine or you can bring your own; it's your preference.
