As soon as I walked in to the daycare and spoke with Ms. Tina for 2 minutes, I knew this was where my baby boy would be taught, fed and loved in a safe environment with fantastic caretakers. The other children and parents became friends and, seven years later, we still talk. The five years my son was with Ms. Tina were fantastic. He even reminds me that, "Those were the days!". The teachers are very caring and love those kids dearly. The curriculum is great, they are exposed to Russian and French as well as many different field trips and visits from local professionals (firefighters, police, karate instructors). There are spring, summer, fall and winter parties for all of your family to go and enjoy if your schedule allows, there are a few picnics on weekends and there is a parents night out. Parents can be as involved or not involved as they'd like. There is an open door policy and I have dropped in at random times to find everyone so cheerful and well taken care of. They go to Cherry Hill Park and the library across the street almost daily as long as weather permits. My husband and I work full time and I have to say they are wonderful when it comes to staying open with inclement weather as much as they possibly can. In the past 2 years I can barely count on one hand the number of times they have opened late or closed early because of snow. They really do all they can to be there for us working parents because a lot of us have jobs that don't close for snow like the government does. Elena is the owner/director and she is so greatly involved with everything. She's very responsive to all e-mails, phone calls. She's often there working with the kids and teachers. In a nutshell, I will be so sad for my daughter to graduate and be going to kindergarten in the fall. This is an amazing school and I'd recommend it to anyone.

There are several staff who have been at Carousel for 10+ years, a few who have been there for over 20 years. Others have mentioned the lack of cosmetic updates to the facilities, however, ownership changed hands a year or two ago, and steady improvements to the facilities (new bathrooms, fresh paint) and technology (parent app, door camera and entry system) have been made since. At the end of the day, our children have thrived here, our oldest is doing well in elementary AAP classes and the youngest is nearing the end of his final year. We couldn't have been happier with the way things have gone, especially given the lower price than other nearby facilities, such as bright horizons in the inova complex. 10 years after nervously dropping off our first infant, barely 90 days old, we'd do it all over with Carousel. A deep thank you to all of the staff who work tirelessly so that our children get needed attention and care while we are off pursuing our careers. Kudos to you all.
