The chairs were beautiful black leather and the table was a beautiful finished wood. Kyle was an absolutely awesome host and instructor. He walked us through every step and made sure that we understood the process. I had recently had a candle making experience a week or two before in another state, but this experience was top notch. It was definitely worth the cost. We made 2 candles of our choosing, with up to 2 scents per candle.

This morning I had called the shop to inquire about a dollhouse. I spoke to a woman who stated that…read moreshe would check the price and have me call back in 30 minutes. I was so delighted that she had the house that I just headed right over to purchase it, regardless of price. When I arrived, she seemed extremely uninterested at first, but stated she would find out the price of the hous for me. After I looked at it, I had decided to purchase it, and I told her I would like to load it in the car. She became very distraught and angry Stated that she had told me to call back in 30 minutes because it would take a long time for them to prepare the house. She said that they would need to dismantle the display and it would not be ready until tonight. I told her I'd driven 40 minutes just to pick up the house and I would actually help her dismantle everything from insideif it would allow for me to get it sooner. By the way, there was only a few toys and pluses in the house. The picture is provided for everyone to see that it would only take 3 minutes to remove the items from inside! She then told me that she was very busy and I needed to calm down because she is verybusy and understaffed, and that she needs to check out everyone else in line first and I needed to step aside. She replies in a very mad way I told you to call back in 30 minutes!!!!! I reminded her kindly that she asked me to call back For the price, and I headed over because the price did not matter. I was embarrassed and humiliated, I then decided to walk away and let her check out all the other people in line. When she had done that, I came back to tell her I would help her dismantle the area for the house and I wanted to see what she could do for me. She was clearly walking past me ignoring me for a while and then she came and told me "now do you see what I just said,when we are extremely busy! She was so angry with us. I mentioned to her that she should calm down and that I would help her. Her attitude was so extremely disrespectful and aggressive and demeaning towards me. I don't even know why I bought the house, really just because I wanted to make sure I had everything assembled for Christmas for my kids. She then charged me more than what it cost to purchase the item Yes online, and the item is also marked in many areas and has some damage. I did not even complain about that. My biggest complaint is the way she treated me. It was absolutely disgusting. I work in an extremely stressful environment on a daily basis, and I have never ever talked to a single soul in this way EVER. I have spent thousands of dollars at your store, but I will never come back. I hope that everyone reads this and sees that they do not deserve to be treated this way.. Again I work in a very stressful high volume job, and have NEVER treated anyone this way Also you should have been grateful to be busy in a bad Economy, not taking it out on customers Your response shows everything. You called me entitled, yet again insulting me when I did nothing wrong. I am a kind paying customer at your store who moved aside even though I waited in line for you to check out those ten customers in a calm and patient manner. I tried to park outside your store, but a large beverage truck parked there. I told the lovely young man I would carry the house to my car on the SAME block but he said he would help me. It took 5 minutes for him to walk down the street with me, and I also thanked him and tipped him a cash gift. You can justify why you behaved so rudely to me all you want and refuse to acknowledge your behavior which is not excusable. The house DOES have damage and the price is lower on Maileg site and all websites. I have dealt with all kinds of extremely stressful situations and have NEVER treated anyone like that ever. You seem to find such behavior acceptable and this is why I will never come to your store again

But that would be unfair to the whimsical petting zoo where the animals don't bite back! On any other day you might catch a curious glimpse of the artist's work caged behind a fenced in area. But on every First Friday the corner of 3rd & Arch becomes "alive" with a menagerie of goats, dinosaurs, monkeys, zebras, bullheads, octopi, and them some. The artist carefully crafts all of the above out of reclaimed metal, and they all come in sizes big and small ensuring that you can find a unique gift for someone whether you aim to pay $20 or $200+! During First Friday the sculptor is on hand to answer questions ranging from what scrap metal was used to create a t-rex, to what type of animals he's working on next, and he may even take requests. Fans of trinkets can browse through keychains or tinier animals; while those looking for larger goods can procure full-sized bull heads, giant dinosaurs, and more. While 3rd & Arch is his main Old City point, I have also seen the artist set up shop in the Piazza over the weekend before during special events. So be sure to keep an eye open during other special markets.

Each trip, I try to make it a point to swing by the corner of 3rd and Arch to see what Metal Menagerie has on display. I love how they take scrap metal and turn them into various animal artworks. I haven't made a purchase yet because my yard needs a lot more work before I'd consider adding a neat display piece. The sculptor is available for questions and seems more than willing to take requests. It is interesting to hear how he comes about getting the materials and the assembly efforts.

I often pass by the storefront, clueless as to what happens inside. The other day I decided to stop and check it out. After a few moments of squinting through their storefront window of woven everything everywhere, my glance was met by another, softer face; the door was opened and I was welcomed so suddenly and completely, I felt an overwhelming church-like sense of purpose and place. Arts Street Textile Studio teaches weaving, knitting, crochet, quilting, embroidery ... and lets the members sell their often arresting, beautiful work. (SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS.) Looks like you could find a really perfect birthday gift or Christmas gift for someone special on your list. I mentioned to the studio director how as a child my mother made some trapunto pillows and beg as I did, she wouldn't teach me how she did it. "I'll teach you!" the director said.
