I took my Shitzsu to be boarded for 10-16 days...I went to pick her up on the 10th day...she had…read moretumors previously and one had ruptured...when I got her she was leaking everywhere was not bandaged had severally lost weight and they charged me for 3 antibiotics and anxiety meds and eye drops. My husband paid out over $560 for this. I bought her home cleaned her up bandaged her up and called another vet that that she was being over medicated and to stop all the antibiotics except one. All dogs suffer from separation anxiety when left for extended periods of time but why keep her doped up like this. After I stopped certain meds she was back to normal levels of life. Why did you do her like this and charge us so much money yet you dishonored my dog and my integrity? Was it because we were BLACK. I WOULD NEVER TREAT AN ANIMAL THIS WAY!!! To me this is my child who can't speak up for herself. White people dogs were wrapped up...why wasn't mine? Instead you put a cone around her head as to say that was all she needed. What if it were your dog, how would you feel? Remember God loves the animals too!!! I only bought her there because you were seeing her since she was a baby and she's now 12 y/o. I really thought you cared or was it about $$$!!!!

An acquaintance dog was burned severely on the operating table. My experience with my dog, I was miss quoted, largely on teeth extractions. My latest experience was a true nightmare for my wife and I and my belove schnauzer. they kept us waiting, almost an hour in the waiting room to put our dog to sleep. My dogs anxiety was over the top. Nobody seemed to care , we purposely had the last appointment of the day so we could get my dog in comfortably so he wasn't a nervous wreck, this office failed us immensely !!

I am beyond disappointed with my experience at VCA Buffalo Ridge Animal Hospital…read more I called because I had concerns about my pet and needed guidance on getting her seen. This was not a major request. If the answer was simply, "Your pet needs to be seen by the doctor," that would have been completely fine. Instead, I was treated rudely, my call was disconnected without explanation, and I was left feeling dismissed and upset. When I later spoke with the manager, Nicole, I was told that she had listened to the recording and that I had been "out of line." I strongly disagree with that characterization. I was not rude or disrespectful. I was a concerned pet owner trying to get help for my animal. What is most upsetting is that it felt like there was more interest in arguing with me than in focusing on getting care for my pet. The entire situation felt unnecessary and petty. A simple conversation and an appointment could have resolved everything. I left the interaction feeling as though Nicole was trying to punish me over a disagreement rather than help my dog, and unfortunately, the one who suffered from that approach was my pet. Pet owners call veterinarians because they are worried about their animals and need help, not to be made to feel like an inconvenience or to be put in the middle of an argument. Because of how I was treated, I will be taking my pets elsewhere and have requested to end my relationship with this hospital. Beware: If you are looking for compassionate, customer-focused care during a stressful situation with your pet, this was not my experience.
