Dr. Johnson has done dental cleaning and several extractions on my middle aged cocker, Katie…read more ALWAYS thorough and always happy with his work. His office is well run with minimal wait times. He calls with results of blood work and gives detailed explanations of the readings. I worked for a vet decades ago. Toby Johnson is my top choice here in Ocala area.

I never had any complaint about Dr. McCall. Dr. Johnson on the other hand - STAY AWAY!!!!! NEVER bring your dog there for their dental cleaning!!! All I'm gonna say is I brought my darling Izzy in for dental in Sept 2025. She came home in terrible condition! She couldn't eat, she could barely stand or walk and they had no hours when I could bring her back in because I work 8-4:30 and so do they. When I kept calling there and expressing my being upset, they tried to turn it on me that it's MY fault because I didn't bring her back after her surgery. How could I when I work???? I kept bringing her to the emergency animal hospital on 40. Their after care is pathetic. It cost me $1800 to basically kill my little girl. She ended up passing away in my arms the following week - After multiple visits to the emergency Vet. NEVER let Dr. Johnson do dental on your dog! Go to Marion County Humane Society clinic. They are 1/3 the cost, they do the bloodwork the morning of surgery so there is NO QUESTION that your dog can be safely put under anesthesia. The Vet there as well as the team were outstanding. My new rescue came home after surgery and the first thing he wanted to do was eat! What a difference. Save your heart from breaking and avoid this place. Again, my condolences to Dr. McCall because I really liked her, but she was also a disappointment in the end because she never reached out to me during this fiasco.

My first experience with a professional homeopathic practitioner was with Dr.Gerald Wessner V.M.D…read more yesterday. Id always been interested in herbal and natural cures, but when my 9 year old great dane had huge seizure after huge seizure, (5 in less than 24 hrs) I was ony thinking "help". So I looked on the internet for a vet close to our new home and found reviews rather lacking and some scary for the conventional vets. But this clinic had all good reviews. I called the next morning after dealing with 3 night seizures and she was still alive. A friend had called to check on her and gave me the name and number to the conventional vet he uses in the area, i figured would be good to have "just in case". When Dr. Gerald returned my call within the hour and I explained the situation he said to bring her in, that he would fit her in. I had to get my brother to help me take her to the vet, about 130lbs, and stumbling to walk, plus I was afraid any vet would say it'd be more humane to just put her to sleep. Arriving to the clinic, it was small, not easily spotted, was quaint, like a cute country vet. Getting nervous because of all the horse decor and carpeted floors, (made me feel like he doesnt deal with inside animals) I held my ground while my brother stared me down. Once in the examining room, the Dr. was very eccentric, a little odd to say the least. He didnt bother with a bunch of googoogahgah with the dog. He did a different kind of examination, strange, but he must be used to the strange looks, he just rolled on through. By the time we left, he had administered a few of the "medicines" he sent with us, and she was no longer stumbling over her own feet and she seemed to be 'back', her eyes focusing and taking in her surroundings with interest. He instructed me to stay home with her for the next week to care for and administer some things as much as every waking hour. Within 6 hours of being home she was 50% better. Not completely sure she wasnt gonna die in the night, I saved my jubilation. She is in day 2 of his holistic care and acting like she wasnt knocking on deaths door 48 hours ago. I would trust this man with treating my child. He also does phone consultations and treatments. He is amazing. My brother isn't 100% convinced in his miracle magic, but he, along with everyone else that seen her thought 90% certain a vet was going to suggest putting her down and every hour was a strugge for her to live on her own. When I left the vets office and called my husband, he had braced hisself that he would hear the news of her peaceful passing. Instead I told him, "She isnt completely better, but she has a chance, a really good one from the looks of it." The next morning, she is amost as good as new. Strange man, but I didnt go to him to find new friends, I went to him for help with my dog. The end!
