Shortly after contacting Peesh's Pets, I had a meeting set up. I immediately felt comfortable and excited for her to come back and spend time with my dog. My dog, clearly agreed that she was wonderful and began greeting her that way every time. Susan is warm, friendly and personable yet completely professional- which is very important to me and I feel, rare in this business. I admitted it right off.. although I have a lovely dog, her separation anxiety makes her high maintenance. MANY dog walkers or sitters have turned me down, immediately, when I explained my situation. Not only was Susan willing to come meet my goofy great dane, she has fallen in love with her. I can no longer call her my dog sitter; instead she has become a trusted friend and to my dane, is known as "Auntie". I can't say this enough- You will not find anyone more trust worthy, genuine, caring, patient and hard working to help you with your pet.

LOOK NO FURTHER FOR YOUR PET CARE!!!! I know that's a bold statement but please read my story. When…read moreit comes to pet care I take it almost more seriously than my own well being. That being said.... I met Susan with Peesh's pets only a few weeks ago. I needed a change in pet care as I wanted someone that this was their only job, not someone doing this as a part time gig... Well I found it! Susan is the owner/operator and is extremely dedicated to her business and LOVES animals. So my story, I was out of town for literally a 12 day work meeting. I received multiple daily updates and one of the updates from Susan came in saying that my dog was showing a bump on his back hip area. We decided she would watch it but I would make a vet appt for my day of return. The day of me arriving home I received a message that she was going to take my dog to the ER and I agreed, the bump had doubled in size. Long story short my flight was delayed multiple times and I did not get here in time for while my dog was at the ER, she got him home about 1:30 in the morning and STAYED with him until I got in at 6:00am!!! She would not leave him alone after what he had been through. Preliminary diagnosis is cancer, and Susan is the one that had to tell me the news. I can't imagine how that was for her as I broke down. She would not accept any further compensation for what she did for me. This goes beyond being a "pet sitter". She is a part of our lives, she has a care and love for what she does that goes beyond anything I could of imagined. I would tell you that you will not find anyone that will care for your animals as she would.... hope you take this into serious consideration when making your decision..... J.T. Goffstown NH

Karen offered no feedback except to ask in a snarky tone "is that cut short enough?!", directed to me, the mom. My husband had asked that our dog's fur be cut a little shorter since last time it was long enough in certain areas that urine was getting on it. (This was relayed to Karen's spouse prior t o the appointment, so maybe it was translated differently to her by him, but she seemed to have taken offense to the request.) Obviously she's a groomer and we are not, but communication would have been nice, not a snappy retort. My husband then tried to explain to her in person why he made the request, but she was in a "mood" and he could see it was going no where.  Once we got our dog home, she seemed very anxious (was not like that last time), and actually threw up twice while on a half hour walk.  :(   I had not met Karen in person until today and my first impression was not a positive one. I wish my baby girl could talk so she could tell me if Karen took out her offense on her! It certainly appears that way! We will not be returning and will pray for Karen to be more aware of the way she comes across and if she has a need to discuss a customer's request to address it promptly and in a professional manner (and not carry the attitude all day!)  Will NOT be recommending this place, Not Ever!

That's one facet of having a pet sitter is if something comes up and u need someone. She lashed out at my wife and I questioning why we didn't have them being watched which we did and she made us explain ourselves that we were away and our flight was late etc etc. we had someone staying at the home and the dogs were Alone for a whole 6 hours when we found out our flight was going to be late. People leave their dogs for 8-10 hours a day while they work. She questioned us like we were children We are 50 year old professional adults and have had dogs our whole life. I think she is rude because she doesn't know who "she" is. She's a dog walke. I'm sure so proud. Have no idea but very happy to never have to use her again. Like we would ever use her again anyways. Just aggressively rude. 2 star because she actually showed up but again she thinks she is "gods gift to animal care" Back to her response to me. All of that info which I didn't take the time to read it all still has zero to do with just how rude she was.

We can rely and trust her to care for our boys at a moment's notice (if something happens) or 6-8 months in advance if we're planning a trip away or a summer concert and it's December. She was with us during the loss of our beloved Ronin this past June 2019 when he passed of lymphoma. She came by on his last day to say goodbye and then made him a beautiful shadow box with all of the photos she had taken of him over the years. We all cried together and she truly does think of your dogs like one of her own. When we are away of course we miss the dogs but we never once worry or wonder how they are when Holly is caring for them. She knows their routines, their personalities, lets us know if they are off, or if they are okay, or sad, or miss us. The boys absolutely lose their mind (in a good way) when she comes to see them which makes us feel so good. I have absolutely no idea as to these "rude" comments from the other poster. Holly is not just a "dog walker." She knows animals, behavior, traits. We give her a key to our home. We trust her in our house and with our kids (lets be honest, our dogs are our kids.) She is so much more than a "pet sitter." She is considered to be a member of our family. Her companionship and love for our dogs is incredible. She is reliable, personable, sends us photos while we are away, lets us know how the boys are, leaves us notes, I could go on. Holly, we thank you. We love you - and the boys love you too!

We searched the internet and found Top Dog Pet Sitting Service! This company were not only very responsive, including the owner, but they did an outstanding job in reassuring us that our puppy was in great hands! We started by making an account and profile on Chloe and it was so easy and user friendly! We then chose our time of day we wanted them to come and our preferences of how many times and how long we wanted the pet sitter to stay. When everything was booked, we met Cassandra and Alisha and Chloe loved them RIGHT away! That was something my husband and I really liked, is that the sitters who would be watching her, met her prior to us going away. All of this happened in a span of 2 weeks since our original plans of who would watch Chloe fell through. During the trip, Cassandra and Alisha were AMAZING! We received email updates with pictures after every bedtime visit (we chose 3 visits a day with just one update but you can customize to however you want!). Those pictures and updates are what got us through the week! It was great because the girls not only cleaned up fuzz and animal pieces from her toys, but also helped clean the containers that had her food in them. During that week, Chloe was on a special diet of chicken and rice as well as medicine and a powder probiotic. the girls did WONDERFUL with managing that entire situation. Jessica, the owner was also beyond amazing for getting back to us so quickly when it was the day before we left for our vacation and she had to be put on all of this medicine and special diet. This company was amazing and we will most definitely be using them again in the future and going to be requesting the same 2 girls since Chloe loved them so much! I cannot recommend this company enough for all of your dog sitting and pet needs!!! :)

They also said they did transport to the daycare facility and boarding on occasion. It seemed perfect. I should mention that there are Kara's pet care facilities in Portsmouth, Berwick, and Falmouth. First I was asked to set up a meet and greet with one of their associates at my home so she could meet my pets. It took me many tries to get through many unreturned phone calls, but finally we did set up the meet and greet and that went well. Then I was asked to set up an app and an account before we could actually schedule any dog care. So I set up the app and the account. Then I was asked to drive my dogs to their facility to see if the dogs would "be happy there." So I drove my dogs 25 minutes to the facility. When I got to the facility I was told that they were supposed to stay there for a day assessment and then I should come and pick them up. This was not communicated to me earlier, and I had not budgeted an extra hour of driving back-and-forth. Then they would reschedule the assessment and they would come and pick up my dogs for the day-long assessment. All before any dog care could be scheduled. So, still not on the calendar. So to summarize: you need to go through a long process of scheduling a meet and greet, then you need to have the meet and greet, then you need to sign up for the app, then your dogs have to be assessed to see if they will be happy. I'm just thinking that anyone who's busy enough to need dog care is too busy for this multilayered, multi-step, poorly communicated process where phone calls, texts, and emails are returned only about half the time.

Go volunteer at The Prison Book Program. The Prison Book Program started in the back of a bookstore in Cambridge, MA when the owners saw a need not being met. Prisoners from all over the country write to The Prison Book Program and request reading materials that The Prison Book Program packs up and mails to them at their jail. The Prison Book Program is completely run by volunteers and all books and supplies are donated, as well as the space that the work is done in (thanks First Parish). It is impressive to see the vast hodpodge of books that the Program has to give out and it is surprising that the most frequently requested book is The Dictionary. Volunteering is really fun. You pick a letter from a prisoner asking for books, you fill their book order (hmmm....he is asking for something to do with hunting, the outdoors, manly men, or film; let me give him this book on the Oscars, it's the closest thing here) package up the books, address them, and imagine the smile that comes over the prisoner's face (once they have stopped trying to make the tape and envelope into a shank) when they read the book. It is humbling to read some of the letters from the prisoners. You can tell that some are extremely grateful, while others are annoyed that they did not get the specific book that they asked for the first time around (in a place that runs on donations, you can only imagine how hard it is to fill even the simplest request). Some letters are extremely eloquent, and others are hard to decipher. Either way, you do some work, read some titles of books you had forgotten you read (hey there, Their Eyes Were Watching God), meet some new people, and feel good when you leave. Drop in to help out on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm until 9pm and once a month on Saturday (email to confirm the actual Saturday date).
