    The 1975 concert
    Cindy C.

I really like the layout of this outdoor theater and the sound system is really nice. We had a good time watching the 1975 concert. Majority of the viewing area is in the shade area by 5 and the grass is very lush. Few things I wish I knew before heading out the door: 1) they don't allow blankets to be brought in even though you will be sitting on the grass the whole time. 2) horrible parking; we were there 30 min prior to start of the concert and all the parking lots and street parking were full. People were resorting to parking on the neighborhoods surrounding the theater. 3) smoking is allowed here; not good for those with asthma. 4) purses- they don't let anyone in with large purses or bags. It has to measure smaller than 12"x12". Many were resorting to going back to their cars. 5) please don't wear mini-skirts when you know you'll be sitting on the grass! Wish they had stated all of the above somewhere in the fine print. Hopefully my review will help.

We recently visited the Msaa Amphitheater for the Riger Clyne and Wade Bowen show this past weekend. Amazingly, after 15+ years of living in the East Valley, I'd never actually been to this venue, but I (mostly) loved it! The acoustics are great, the drink lines weren't too long, and the bathrooms were clean and orderly. The only negative experience I had was that the security guard tried to make me throw away my tiny bottle of Purell hand sanitizer because we are "no longer in a pandemic" and she couldn't allow it. I put up a small fight and the other security guard let me in with it. I'm not sure if the security staff are hired by Meaa Amphitheater or not, but if they are, they really need to better train the people they have searching bags.

The "line" for the concert-I talked to security and he said, it's general admission, can't do about it"

The way they are taking care of the "line" for the concert. It is dangerous. I talked to security and he said, it's general admission, there is nothing We can do about it"

Still one of my favorite venues to catch a show. Ok yeah it's small but it's easy to find a seat on the grass or either hill on both sides to watch the show. Like at least here it's nice to find work so hard to find a free parking spot too as there are always plenty. Always is a good seat and more of a laid back attitude. Beers again are outrageous at 9 a drink but I think now thats just sadly the times. It is an outdoor venue so make sure to stay hydrated but overall acoustically and visually I pick this place above most others in town to see my music here

    Avett Brother awesomeness.

Ask the Community - Mesa Amphitheatre

Do they require covid vaccine or negative covid test?

When we visited last month, there was no requirement for the vaccine or mask, since it is an outdoor venue. Some artists may specifically require it though.

They say no backpacks allowed but purses smaller than 12x12 are okay. Would you say a backpack that is smaller than 12x12 (like those super small ones that are currently trending) be okay?

You should be fine as long as it fits the size requirements :) they are super strict here though and send a lot of people to put stuff away. Personally I always try to keep everything in my pockets when I can!

Can folding chairs be used in the lawn seating area?

    I don't think so

It tries to be those things and fails in all. The layout: It's a long narrow room. The stage is on the smaller far end. The tables are arranged going back along the long direction. If you're sitting more than halfway back you'll be disappointed in the seating. In the back are high-top tables which are very small. The "bar" is along the long wall. The "restaurant" is catered food ( I don't think the venue has a kitchen). It's arranged buffet style on portable tables in the lobby. You go in a line and chose your dinner and they hand it to you in a plastic to-go container. You eat at your table and then bus your leftovers and trash to the trash can. There is no wait service. Just like eating at a fast food restaurant. If your sitting at a small high-top table there's not enough room for more than two people to eat. You'll be seated with strangers and they'll be right in your face as you eat. The "bar" only has beer and wine for alcohol. Or you could get a canned mixed drink. Stand in line and wait your turn at the end of the bar. The bar seats are reserved for the show. Remember no wait service. So if you want a drink during the show you have to go to the bar. Music was not Jazz. Very slow, boring folk. The crowd was 70+ year olds. And they charge for this experience? Won't be going back.

There's a small bar if that's how you roll, but you can't actually sit AT the bar. The Nile has a variety of bands from punk, metal, pop, etc. These aren't the musicians selling out stadiums, so the shows are affordable and you can see the bands! The plus side is these are the bands I want to see. Buy something from the band's merch table so they can afford to tour. This venue has a clear bag policy, which is becoming the norm these days. Security uses the ol' metal detector wand and pat down your pockets with it. The guy tapped my pocket with it and asked 'what's this?' and I showed him my chapstick. I didn't need to take off my shoes though. I will say I haven't seen an fights or issues with the crowd during the shows I've been to. This is a good venue to see bands and you can even take your kids! One thing I've come to appreciate in my older age is a clean bathroom, and the Nile's need some attention. If you need to sit due to biology or otherwise, make sure you go before you go.

Ambiance 5/5 Lighting works wonders and the Halls upgrades focused on sound & stage lighting which they did well. The Hall audience seating included rows of general seating and VIP Seating tables near the stage. The Venue definitely has the concept vibe. Menu 2/5 Food options were limited, snacks, beverages, personal Pizzas etc. There also was a bar setup outside on the back patio for cocktails and soft drinks. There really wasn't any place to eat unless you had a VIP table. Stage performance 5/5 Our seating was perfect up front. The Band does a fantastic performance the instrumentals were spot on. The bands Vocals were well done minus Joe Walsh's songs. How do you pull off his sound? We also enjoyed the Journey cover band Voyager Which was an excellent performance and finally the Comedic Nun show "Midnight Gretchen". Great intimate Venue.

After I paid $25 for my nonrefundable tickets , I saw they were only $10 on Goldstar. Concert hall had no carpet or other sound absorption. I don't know what the building was before, but I am giving 3 stars because there are only 3 women's bathroom stalls for seating for 500 people, 1 in the front I. Foyer and 2 stalls down the hall to the left of the stage. Of course there was a line of women, and no line for the men. Parking was free and not a problem, all around the building. Both Eagles Tribute and Beatles Tribute performances were worth my $25 each, but would have been more satisfying for $15 (includes $5 in the usual ticket fees) through Goldstar. The venue felt significantly oversold, to the point where it was nearly impossible to move comfortably. From where I was standing, I couldn't see the stage at all, which made it hard to enjoy the performance I came to see. Beyond just being crowded, it felt unsafe. The number of people packed into the space seemed excessive, and I genuinely question whether it exceeded fire code limits. People were standing all the way back into the bar area. Navigating through the crowd was difficult, and there didn't appear to be enough room for people to exit easily if needed. I've been to this venue since its 2017 opening and had much better experiences, but this event felt poorly managed. I hope they take crowd capacity and guest safety more seriously in the future.
