Mesa Verde is a great place to recover. I had a right knee complete replacement. Their staff were remarkable and treated me very kindly and with respect. The Physical Therapist were the best. Everyone worked together as a team to provide the best help possible. They also have an activities room where there is something to all day. Also, DirecTv and WiFi. The CNA's were very attentive. Always with a smile. I highly recommend this place.

I mistakenly let my husband stay there for 3 weeks. The day he left he had to be IV'd with fluids he had an infection.

It was hard to trust my mom's well being away from her home, but after being there and seeing how tentative they were, I felt she was safe. A very special thanks to those CNAs that do so much for patients!! Lorena, Sujey, and Katty, you are wonderful and very much appreciated! Thank you for being so kind and caring! Nurses are always super busy but Laura, Gabby, and Yvonn went out of their way to assist any way they could. The activities team, especially Blanca, who made my mom smile all the time. My mom loved going activities area! Melissa, Jaime, and Jacky thank you for helping me through all of that process and answering all those questions I had. Care facilities are looked at as a place you don't want to go to. However in my experience with Pelican's team, it was a great one. Thank you!

In our experience, the building felt dated, and communication with staff was often difficult. Reaching the right person for updates was frustrating and added stress during an already challenging time. My mother was admitted with the goal of rebuilding her strength and regaining her ability to walk. She was motivated and willing to do the work. After more than three weeks at the facility, including an extended stay, she left in significantly worse condition than our family had hoped. Within two days of discharge, she required emergency medical care. From our perspective, she appeared dehydrated, undernourished, and far weaker than when she arrived. While every patient's situation is different, our family believes the care she received did not help her achieve the rehabilitation goals that brought her there. Sadly, she never fully recovered and later passed away. This was our experience, and I encourage families researching post-acute care options to ask detailed questions, visit facilities in person, and carefully consider all available choices before making a decision

On top of all this, she gets delirium and was so combative at her last SNF (which was a horrible experience) she ended up back in the ER with a flail chest that also nearly killed her. Needless to say I was very concerned about another SNF experience. The thing about Rehab and SNF is it's a step down and you need to be patient and understand there is reduced staff from a hospital setting- something my mother isn't the best at. I anticipated a constant battle with both of them. I was wrong. Her care was exceptional. Her physical and medical needs were addressed in a timely fashion. Her rehab was equally impressive and her room was clean every time I visited. The nutritionists did a great job with her dietary needs. Within days I found myself worrying less and when it came time to discharge home I found myself considering paying for extra days. A SNF is a difficult environment to work in but the staff were always friendly and kept me well informed. They really deserve more praise than they get. I highly recommend Victoria.

We…read morechose Sun Mar again because of the wonderful experience we had last year when my mom was there, and once again, they did not disappoint me. The level of care, compassion, and professionalism shown by everyone at Sun Mar is truly remarkable. No matter the situation, their staff consistently go above and beyond for their patients. Like any place, there were some issues along the way, but what stood out most was how promptly and effectively they handled everything. Every issue was addressed and resolved in a timely and caring manner, and my dad's needs were always their top priority. From the nurses and physical therapists to the staff who assisted with meals, bathing, and medication, every single person played an important role in my dad's recovery. Their teamwork and dedication made such a difference. I'd especially like to acknowledge Jun, Julie, Andy, Brandon, Jasper, Michael, Dennis, Christine, Mark, Stephanie, Lisa, Lucy, Celina, Cindy, Sarah, Angie, Jaime, Ben, Mark, Ester, Navi, Balgit, Shainah,( I am sure I am forgetting alot of names...) for their kindness, responsiveness, and personal attention throughout my dad's stay. I'll never forget how accommodating Jun was when I reached out on short notice. I think it was 24 hours before we needed to transfer my dad. He took care of everything quickly and efficiently, ensuring my dad could be admitted without delay. That kind of compassion and professionalism is rare, and I truly appreciate it so much!! Thank you to everyone at Sun Mar Nursing Center for your care, patience, and commitment. You made a difficult time much easier for our family, and we will continue to recommend Sun Mar to anyone in need of quality care for their loved ones.

While what clearly was a life changing decision originally, moving into Vivante has proven time and again to be the best for both. Sadly, we lost our mom last month after an incredible fight she had been putting up for the past few years. Her last ten days truly showed us the incredible "loving care" by so many of Danica Coronel's TEAM. Now, over the years I have visited the facilities hundreds of times. I have gotten to know many of the caregivers, nurses, medtechs, servers, etc., and I have always felt good when leaving that my parents were in great hands. It is always clean and in good condition. We have enjoyed many great meals, met many residents & their families, and created some good memories (under the circumstances). Those "last ten days or so before her passing," REALLY opened my, and many of my family's eyes to the true depth of passion & caring of SO many of the Vivante staff (On the apartment side & especially in The Shores facility). From the smiling greetings by Jojo & Julie, the always positive Vince, Danica & Olivia, the incredibly joyful Alyssa (and mom Debbie), Krista, Ashlee, Elizabeth, Zoila, Jesus, Angela, Pilar, Irizella, Sara, lovely Aricelli who would make mom a nice cup of hot chocolate with a smile & warm words, to the cooks & servers, there are many more to mention. These past years have also opened my eyes to how difficult a job it is, especially to care for those with various stages/levels of dementia. If you are looking for yourself or for one of your loved ones, my entire family would urge you to look into Vivante Newport Mesa. It is a first class facility run by an incredibly dedicated TEAM that exudes passion. Respectfully, Dan Stauber
