Nearly 3 years ago we found ourselves searching for a rehab that could help us with our son's addiction. He had already been in 2 rehabs at this point. We were so despondent about the affect this was having on him, the emotional and financial toll it was taking on our family and the lack of "adequate" available help. I knew he needed something longer than a 1 month or 45day program and so, yet again, I began my search online. This time, I googled something along the lines of "long term addiction recovery rehabs" and found Tree House Recovery. I will forever be grateful for that day as I am convinced that this program literally saved my son's life! I have searched hundreds of recovery websites over the years. When I initially clicked on the Tree House Recovery website I was immediately impressed by its 5 star rating. As I looked further into the website, I was intrigued. It was a "men only" program which was a plus for me as I had hoped this would offer less distractions. In addition, Tree House Recovery seemed to offer more than most places in the way of counseling. The physical aspect, under the direction of a Navy SEAL was impressive along with addiction education classes. I called and spoke with Chris, who was the intake person. Chris was so helpful and answered all my questions and concerns. We live on the east coast and I was a little uncertain about sending my son across the other side of the country, however, something told me this was the place he needed to be. A short time later, he was on a plane to California. He was met at the airport by a Tree House Recovery associate and the rest is history! I am so happy to say that next month my son will be 3 years drug and alcohol free! I know my son did the work he needed to do. He gave it 110%, (to include a Spartan race and triathlon,) and I know the healing process was difficult. However, the support and overall quality of care he received at Tree House Recovery was unsurpassed and the life skills this facility gave my son are so invaluable that it's difficult to put it all on paper. I will be forever grateful to his individual therapist (Rob) and writing therapist (George). THANK YOU! THANK YOU! The physical fitness aspect of the program is amazing. My son had played sports all through school, however, had never been near the physical shape he was in when he finished the program. The entire staff are in a league of their own and the program is like no other! The person my son is today is so much more than I could have ever imagined (physically, spiritually and emotionally!) He knows how to have fun and enjoy life without drugs and/or alcohol. His reasoning and decision making are on point. He has focus, plans and dreams. I trust him and I trust when he says he's going to do something he means it. THE NEGATIVE THINKING IS GONE! Today, he is the happy, confident, person I remembered so many years ago. About 2 years ago my journey to help my son find a treatment center began. I was scared and overwhelmed. I remember calling a few places and talking to different admission counselors on the phone. I had so many questions and concerns. Everyone that answered the phone seemed to just follow the general platform script. Looking on the internet, I continued to call as many places as I could that were in my area. When I called the hotline for Treehouse Recovery for Men it felt different from the start. A feeling of hope surrounded me as I talked to the Treehouse rep, Jake. Jake was kind and compassionate while he listened to me and answered every question I had with genuine interest and concern. As I sit here right now trying to find the right words to express how I feel about Tim my eyes fill up with tears of joy and thanks. Tim was the perfect counselor for my son. He gave my son steady guidance which turned into empowerment of self worth, which then lead to improvement. Tim's knowledge of the brain and the mechanics behind it are all inspiring. THR is not your typical recovery program, it is a network of relationships and values that connect these men and bind them together . It is a regimented program that heals your mind, body, and spirit by consistency, education, exercise, healthy diet, and HOPE. I have thought about this a lot lately and feel that TREEhouse is the perfect name for this treatment program because it starts at the root, cleaning and strengthening, then through a process starts rebuilding together until there is a strong house within you. A heartfelt "Thank You " to all of the dedicated men who work at Tree house Recovery & being an instrumental part in my son's recovery. I would like especially thank an EXCEPTIONAL young man named Chris S. in admissions department...I don't think I would be writing this review today if not for Chris. My 1st return phone from Tree house was from Chris, he listen to my story of a son that has struggled with addiction for 5 years - that we had been in & out many recovery facilities, IOP Programs & private counseling - only to fail time & time again.Chris had a reassuring voice on the other end of the phone & told me about Tree house program and how it was different than any other program. Chris alleviated my fears of sending my son cross country and spoke to my son to explained the program & what to expect. Within 2 days we had made the decision to go to Tree house and with that ,Chris got to work! We began the admissions process , which was no small task because we would be transferring from one facility directly to Tree house in California - we had a few hurdles to jump but I knew Tree house would be my sons best chance of sobriety. Chris kept in regular contact with me throughout this process...he could not have done any more! He called me when my son landed in LAX and a few of the guys were there pick my son up. Chris has even called to check on me! Fast forward 4 months- my son is healthy, happy & works out every day- works on himself & his sobriety. My son was spiraling out of control, 2 emergency room visits and one overdose in 24 hours and I was scared I was going to lose my son to this disease. We had done the detox and the short term rehabs with sober living in the past and nothing was working, when someone reached out to me and told me about Treehouse Recovery for men, but it was in California and we lived in Michigan. I knew if we didn't do something, we were going to be planning my son's funeral, so I made the call. The voice on the other end introduced himself as Jacob (Jake). I was literally a wreck and frantic, and he was calm and understanding. I was able to convince my son to at least look at their website and talk to Jake. Over the next three days, Jake from Treehouse worked closely with us to make this life changing decision happen for my son. The day before my son was to leave, he started having second thoughts, thinking he could do this on his own. This was the place where I finally felt understood with my struggle with drugs and alcohol. The staff really care and I have the upmost respect for the management here. They put their hearts into their work. It's a program designed to help men live a happy and healthy life. It wasn't an easy program and had a lot of structure, which was exactly what I was looking for. The IOP program was physically, emotionally, spiritually focused. Work out 5 days a week, do yoga twice a week, ride white-water-rafting boats as a team into the ocean and ride waves in for team bonding. Also had 2 one-on-one therapy sessions per week and 2 one-on-one writing therapy sessions a week, along with process groups with your team, and addiction education where we learned how the brain was affected by using substances and what we can do to get it back into balance. The sober living that we lived in used 12-step programs like AA. So, there was pretty much every angle of recovery presented to me. Like the house manager would, we're not known for granite countertops and stone massages, we're known for having real recovery. The houses were decent. Managers held high standards with chores every day, which I appreciated. Teams had pride in having a clean house. I learned a lot through living with other people from all different experiences. We shared the same goal, which was cool. I stayed in the IOP program 5 months and then in the sober living for an additional 15 months and it was one of the best decisions I've made in my sobriety. I am a graduate of this program, and I can say whole heartedly and sincerely this place contributed to the saving and drastic changes of my life. I am 25 and since I was 21 have been in and out of over 20 rehabs across south Florida and California, I believed I was hopeless and nothing could help me get this. I have to tell you that this treatment center is different from ANY other that I have seen. I spent two years watching my son rehab-hop about 17 different treatment centers. "Five-star" treatment centers that only treated his addiction with more pills. He would come home with bottles and bottles and bottles of pills that were provided by the so-called rehab. He would tell me how he had drugs delivered to the front door of the affiliated sober living house where he was staying. How they didn't care. I could go on about the horror of what was going on in these centers. They ONLY wanted the money, they didn't care about the individual. They didn't want their clients to stay clean. They wanted to continually bill (bilk) insurance companies out of money. Tree House CARES about these boys. The therapists and counselors take an individual interest in each and every one of them. These boys and men come out with a renewed passion for life. For living. For thriving. I have talked to several of the clients here from the time they started treatment thru to the day they graduated. The transformation is amazing! Coming to Treehouse was hands down the best decision I've ever made for myself. I had been to several other treatment centers which were helpful but ultimately unsuccessful. I was at the lowest of lows and thought that my life was irredeemable. I had very nearly given up until I found Treehouse. This place is truly something special. As a graduate and former client of Treehouse Recovery I say with complete confidence, "this place has saved my life". I have taken "THE TOUR" having undergone several treatments, stayed in multiple sober living environments; but not one of them was able to provide the type of structure and personalized care that I needed to get better. Tree House Recovery is great! They provide a unique and holistic approach to addiction treatment. I appreciated the focus on physical fitness, mental health, and overall lifestyle changes. The staff genuinely care about the clients and put in a lot of effort to create a supportive environment. That said, the program is hard work. It's very structured and intensive, which really pushes you outside of your comfort zone. Overall, Tree House has a strong mission and provides valuable life tools that really work for recovery. It's not a perfect fit for every individual, but for the right person, it is life-changing. Edit: This review is about the IOP program. It's a co-ed rehab that fit perfectly with my busy schedule and supported my recovery plan. Treehouse recovery is truly a special place. It did not only save my life but it has taught me how to live with integrity, happiness, compassion and peace. The curriculum here at treehouse is comprised of so many different components that are essential for treating the whole person. There is not one other place in the country that is doing what Treehouse is as far as helping men regain control of their lives. I have never seen or met any staff as devoted and loving as the staff here. Prior to getting to Treehouse I was lost, broken and straining my health significantly. I moved out to California from New Jersey to come to treehouse not knowing what to expect. I was scared and hopeless. However, I was very willing and determined to do whatever it took to get my life back on track. I came into the program open-minded and eager to change. I came into Treehouse recovery at one of the hardest points of my life. With the help from the addiction treatment team members such as cruz and dylan I was able to take a much needed step away from my current situation/life and start fixing the root problems of my life. Not only was I able to completely stop my substance use, but I was also able to get off of all my medications that were prescribed for depression and anxiety. I have been to several treatment centers over the years and could never get it right. I have always been a highly performing, achievement-oriented individual, but always regressed after a short period of recovery. I could never get on board with the treatment programs because they did not allow me to excel, be active, and grow as an individual. Naturally, coming in to Tree House I was skeptical.
