I took my leather purse into Messinger GE Shoe repair on 12/19/22. I expected to have to leave the purse (I am from Mt. Shasta, CA) and have them repair the zipper, and mail it back to me. The efficient and friendly repair man simply took my purse, did some adjustments and explained how to effectively use the closure so that I should have 2 to 3 more years of use from this handbag. Brought shoes in to be re-soled. They came back to me a month later looking thrashed. The sole looks tacky and they might have ruined the aesthetic string lacing on the sides of the shoe. They were only supposed to remove the bottom sole but he ended up tearing string that went around the side of the leather shoe. Also, i had to go in the store in person to ask if they were done, and he found them tossed in a pile of other shoes that were just all thrown together in a box. I've never had shoes repaired and then look worse than when I dropped them off. I'm really disappointed and sad about my shoes. Plus I paid before the repair so I felt uncomfortable asking for a refund. read more

I have a pair of old boots, my absolute favorite, so much so that I've had them re-soled three times. I know one of these days I'll simply have to let them go as the leather is wearing thin, but I'm just not quite ready to do that yet. For $15 my boots were polished to the point of almost looking new! With the black heel dressing they really shine. Horrible experience. I dropped off two pairs of shoes, a pair of designer half boots ($400) that simply needed the rubber heal cap replaced and a pair of expensive dress shoes ($275) that needed some stitching repaired. A) It took weeks for him to get to the repair. After one phone call and a drop in, he finally finished the heal repair. This took about 5 weeks. The heal repair was fine, but I cannot figure out why he decided to slather brown shoe polish around the outside of the heal itself. As I mentioned, these are designer boots, so there was a lot of consideration given to what the sides of the soles would look like -- think intentionally distressed soles. Slathering shoe polish all over it looked horrible, not to mention the blotches of polish he got on the upper as well. It took me a whole bottle of finger nail polish removal and some sand paper to remove the polish. B) When I picked up the boots, I was told my other shoes were, "on the bench right now." When I asked for an estimate of when to pick them up, he said, "we will call you." (Bear in mind, they NEVER called me, not ever!) C) I waited three more weeks to pick up the shoes because I was out of town and busy. (That's a total of two months, for those of you playing along at home.) When I went in to pick them up... well... they dug around in random laundry baskets STUFFED full of shoes to attempt to find them. "What did they look like," they asked? They finally found them... you guessed it... not done. At this point, they sheepishly offered to finish them while I waited. Here's another thing, while I was waiting to pick up my shoes, which also marks the last time I will set foot in their shop, the woman at the counter was on the phone with a VERY IRATE customer, who seemed to be angry about the same things as me: long wait, no phone call, shoddy work, and lost shoes. Upon hanging up the phone, the clerk explained it away as if the customer was in the wrong. I think you get the picture. Go somewhere else. read more

I took my Berkenstocks in to get them resoled. I Iive in klamath falls and expected to have to leave them and drive all the way back to medford in a few weeks to pick them up.
