The average selling price is $75 for sales that happened this year. The ONLY time it ever sold for $200 was in 2018. Egregious price gouging. Reckless Records down the street will sell rare records at their average selling price. I can't imagine a large record store needs more than triple what they probably paid to acquire that record. He found a Leon Russell "Hank Wilson's Back" vinyl album I had been looking for that was somehow in the country section! He knows his music, and turned me on to a CD collection that they bought with all kinds of great discs for reasonable prices. If you want to listen to a record or CD they can play them for you. The doggie Pogo is super friendly and they have treats to give him. I will be back for sure next time I am in town, so glad Evanston has a great record store again, it was sad after 2nd Hand Tunes closed. I also met Mary, Niko and Neil and they are all great folks!

Located off Elston, you'll have to find parking in the neighborhood behind it. You might get lucky and find street parking but on this day I was not. Once you find it (blink and you'll miss may miss it), you'll be met with loads of extreme music. Punk, hardcore, PV, grind, black metal and more are all here. Now, this isn't the biggest store but you're not going to find Barry Manilow, Neil Diamond or folk comps taking up space. I had my list together from a cart I made up on their website and they didn't have one. They bent over backwards to find it and in this case it will be shipped to my house at no extra charge. The customer service and friendliness of the staff was incredible. Prices were really good and the more you buy you get discounts! I wish I had a Meteor Gem close to my home. The selection is definitely for me. The service and prices were icing on the cake. If you're anywhere near Chicago and enjoy extreme metal and punk rock, MG should be on your visit list. Steve is awesome and his knowledge of music is impressive. Vintage Vinyl is one of the only record stores where I could spend hours looking through the huge selection of original albums without worrying about not having a good time. We ventured to Bridgeport and we were lucky to find them open. I love finding stores like this because you have the opportunity to dig for the gems. The staff at Let's Boogie has been working dilligently to get the store more organized, and the items priced. There is stuff everywhere, from vintage vinyl, CD'S, tapes, DVDS and even VHS. They are still actively buying and getting new sealed albums also. I found a bunch of stuff I didn't know I was looking, and a few I left behind because I was over my budget. Prices are comparable to what you would find on Discogs but you may be able to work something out with the owner. Enjoy!! I know I did, and will definitely hit this spot again when I'm back in Chicago.
