Picked up an order one day and they sent me home with the wrong size tubing. Second try I was quoted one price, then mysteriously it doubled in price by the next day, then was told they won't sell me multiple 15 ft pieces because they are stuck with the leftover. This place is great. They have any and all types, shapes, and thickness of metal you need. I've come here for steel and aluminum for a few projects I've worked on. I only needed the simple aluminum channel value pack, listed as "stocked" via web page path through the Round Rock location. "No order too small, cut to order." I made a 1-1/2 hour, 45 mile round trip to discover that they are two days backed up on cutting and don't stock what the website says "What we stock." No notice on the web pages of such an understandable, COVID-19-related backlog. The shop says, "Oh, you were looking on the on-line store. We only cut to order, so you can order now and come back in two business days to pick it up. Or order on-line." The shipping is as much as the order value. That's good for 3 stars - my bad for not calling ahead, trusting the web page. I then called the web page number identified as for correspondence (Dallas), to ask for options, such as free shipping given the mileage and tolls I'd already consumed. That reaction was, "Sorry, this is the on-line store, wasn't our fault, work it out with the Round Rock warehouse. By the way, we were closed, so I just picked up the phone." My call was at 4:45PM Friday, March 19, fifteen minutes before the 5PM closing posted and as soon as I returned from my failed trip to the warehouse. So down to one star, 0 if I had the option. The company had two opportunities to satisfy a customer, but all I encountered were folks not trained in how to deal with the poor communication of the web pages and their logistical problems but who were quick to point out how it was my fault for 1) trusting the web pages and 2) not understanding they're two different warehouses and a third on-line company, indifferent to each other's role in serving customers. I'll find an alternative for my project. I suspect they're ok at volume, traditional contractor-type business but don't seem to have small project customers in mind or a sense for customer service. read more

They are conveniently down the street from me which is great! . I work on small fabrication projects, tool repairs and fixtures for production projects. It's a great place that has lots of drops and miscellaneous pcs. If I did a large job requiring full length pieces with lots of cutting they can do that too. Really disappointed in this place. I've been shopping here for over five years and always appreciated their upfront prices (granted they're expensive compared to other stores). Unfortunately they've drastically changed business practices lately. Last time I was there I ordered $3000 worth of steel square tubing, they charged me extra to have them cut (which is fine - in the past they had offered free cuts on big purchases, apparently they don't do that any more). I sat there for over an hour waiting for them to cut the tubing - they were having problems getting them off the rack with the forklift (they ended up moving them one at a time), then they had problems with the saw (couldn't get it to open up wide enough to cut all of the pieces at once). I told the sales rep I was late for a meeting and offered to come back later for the cut pieces. Since they were having problems with the saw anyway I would call with a more exact measurement and come pick them up the next day. He said no problem. I called an hour later with an exact measurement and he explained that they had to charge me a labor fee, restocking fee, another cut fee and some other crap charges because of the added work I caused the guys by having to put the beams away - keep in mind I already paid several thousand dollars for the beams and the cuts. The sales rep blatantly lied to me about the saw working perfectly - I didn't mention that I speak Spanish and perfectly understood the shop guys trying to troubleshoot the saw... at that point he told me I could either pay the extra couple hundred dollars in fees or pick up the 24' sticks - knowing full well I didn't have a trailer and would be forced to pay. Today I decided to give them another shot. I was working nearby when my client told me they were short 2x2 tubing. It was 4:30 and they closed at 5pm. I tried to call to tell them I was heading over (I thought maybe they could cut the tubing and have it waiting for me. No luck - their phone went straight to hold music. So I show up at 4:45 and they tell me they won't cut anything. They're closing "in 2 minutes" and it looked like the shop guys left an hour earlier. He could have at least owned up to it: "yeah, sorry, it was dead so we closed early today." But they were completely unapologetic about not serving their customers. As a business owner I would be livid if I found out my employee turned a customer away because it was inconvenient DURING BUSINESS HOURS. Absolutely shameful. I'll make the drive to a cheaper shop with better customer service next time. I hope the owner takes this to heart and takes a serious look at how her employees treat people. read more

I love this store! They have a tremendous selection of different grades of aluminum, steel, brass, ect. They have all dimensions from sheet to square tubing. They are very cheap, and are willing to do small and large scale purchases. They very are helpful and patient. If they don't have something they can have it within a few days.
