I would recommend nooooo one to obtain phone or internet service i was with Metro pcs for 10 years and finally had a chance to leave after being there for 10 years then transferred to T-MOBILE was fine until METRO PCS had froze my ph no service so I had chose but to go back to Metro so depressing for 30.00 only they had put AUTO PAY on my.ph would not take it off this is thier system would not do a thing I then contacted FCC to assist, after making acomplaint with FCC they all of a sudden was able.to take off. Customer service here is awful. After going several times, I came to this definite conclusion. The staff never greets you up on entering. Even if you're standing for 20 minutes, you are typically ignored until they have time for you. There was a woman there who was extremely abrasive. She cut me off frequently and answered all my questions in a very dry tone. I make a point to be expressive and give friendly gestures with retail conversations. I do this because so many service workers tend to be rude and nasty. Sometimes this works. But this woman remained stonefaced throughout our interaction. However, she was friendly with the woman before me, but only because she was talking about her daughter. Overall, the store could use some basic customer service training. I hugely regret switching back over to Metro from Boost. It has been nothing but a huge  headache. Should never have ported. Which, I thought would be avoided by going to a corporate store, as opposed to an authorized dealer, which, I know, tend to not follow all procedures and also charge more up front. And I ended up getting a much worse experience. Went to the store on 3700 La Brea in Los Angeles on Saturday 7/6, was greeted and checked in quickly. Cool.  Then, the sales rep was too busy talking to the customers at the register over, not inquiring if we had any questions, nor giving us responses when we did. Okay, thankfully we knew what phones we wanted, so not many questions as far as that part. Had a few in regards to the plan, but nothing really responded. Whatever. Come time to pay, and apparently temp cards are not allowed, which makes no sense. Every other place does, so i ask for the manager, whom lies and states it's policy. I ask to see it, he states to go see it online. Well, it isn't on the website, but, at this point, I'd rather stick to what I have and leave. What these ignoramuses forget to tell me is that they have already ported my numbers over from Boost, thus, closing out my account and preventing me from going to an authorized retailer or other corporate location as the numbers belong to Metro. Let's also not forget that the genius sales rep also made up a pin and security answer. Unable to return that day due to something called work, I go to an authorized retailer the next and that is when I find out that the corporate store has taken my number but never activated my account. They say they are unable to give us porting credit as a result. So we drive the hour from the location to the corporate store and deal with a pretentious "manager" that does not even know how the systems work, nor has any customer service skills. Just obnoxious and condescending the whole time, showing zero empathy for his employees screw up, not even trying to make up slightly for the inconvenience.  I point out the lack of the temp card being on the website, he gives me a cutout of the policies, none of which have to do with the temp card not being accepted......what the point was, I'll never know. After going back and forth, in circles, he tells us our only options are to pay at said location, Port out to another company or lose our number. Because of your mistake, I'm put in a situation I do not want to be in. How does that make sense? Tired of dealing with his attitude, we decide that we will just pay them and let them take credit, despite royally screwing up. That takes another thirty minutes as they need to create new accounts and then migrate our numbers back. Whatever, so I'll deal with it while I wait for the store manager to call me tomorrow (Monday 7/8), which, I know isn't going to happen. Come one am, our phones are turned off for non payment. Christian, the guy who helped me out was extremely helpful and professional and did an excellent job of answering all of m questions. Will be leaving Metro soon. After years with them, I got my dad a new unlocked phone and took it to the Dublin store to register it. They charged for bringing his own phone and said I should buy a new Sim because they only last two years. I found out that's not true after I bought the Sim. The clerk changed my dads plan and raised his rates without my knowledge and Metro won't change it back. TMobile doesn't do this and is $10 less for a senior who doesn't use data. Can't expect great service when their service is only $40 a month. I came by to get my girlfriend a phone while she's visiting LA for 3 months. The first bill came and she was charged $50. So I called and found out it was their mistake. All good though since she's credited $10 for her next bill. Anyway, this branch was probably the biggest one I ever saw. The only reason I come here is because they have a machine outside the store where you can pay for your bill within 5 minutes. All Metro PCS is located in a ghetto area for a reason. The dispute continues. This company is the most disreputable of any that I have ever done business with in my life. After assuring me that they would credit my account, they did not. Then the file was sent to another incompetent individual who just flat out lied in documentation to my credit card company. They contacted me after I returned the merchandise after 3 days. Now they are disputing that the merchandise was returned! YET - there is no account active. I disputed the charge in 9/10. Here it is 12/10 and it is STILL not resolved! Chase CC sends me a letter late DECEMBER asking for more information. They want ME to contact Metro again, which I did. I'm told they'll call me back. They don't. Then I get some a-hole at Chase who says nothing more can be done. OH YEAH? So now I get to write up a nice little review on Chase credit dispute services, too. I have now written 2 more letters. One to Metro to the a-hole who wrote the lies and does not return my phone calls. The other to Chase to let them know how one of their dispute team abuses customers. Example: they give me a date to respond by, then close the file before that date! After giving the vendor 3 months? OMG. THEN the Chase woman disputes the USPS receipt I send in from the system that clearly says "DELIVERY INSURED." I've never had a disputed charge encounter become adversarial with a company that is supposed to be servicing ME. Protect yourself, people. Save every shred of paper. Document every name. Cuz you will need to defend yourself. Don't take any crap. Know your rights. Send follow up letters when you talk to people. It's the only way. People lie on the phone to get rid of you. If you don't get satisfaction, tell them you will contact the FTC, your congressman, alert the media and report the issue in social network forums. I will update the outcome. read more

I had been getting texts that Metro was about to upgrade their systems and my old phone was no longer going to be operational, they offered to give me a new phone. I called this branch, guy seemed a bit short on the phone. He did answer all my questions though, so that was a plus. I went all the way there, there were no lines, the store was nice and clean and the lady who helped me was so friendly. I got a free new phone which I wish came standard with a case like my old one because it was so slippery to the touch. The rep overcharged me for 2 SIM cards when they should have been free since I purchased 2 new phones with the port, i did not purchase BYOD (bring your own device) service. I knew the total was higher than I expected but he kept saying it's the taxes. I was running late so I left with my new phones..when I looked over the receipt I realized I paid for the SIM cards, went back in the next day to get my money back and they would not refund my money. They only offered and issued a credit for next months bill.. Sigh. Who says I would stay another month with this prepaid company after the bad customer service, I wanted my money back not a credit. I try to avoid going to this location.On my most recent visit, I dealt with an employee who was obviously not interested in assisting me at all. I wanted to purchase a new phone since mine was giving more trouble than it was worth. He told me to buy it from the website because it was cheaper. I pulled up their website and showed him that the price was the same as in the store. He commenced to give me excises about why I would be better off buying it on the website anyway. All of his excuses were BS. He just didn't want to be bothered. I did not want to wait for a phone to come in the mail when I was ready to purchase and activate the new phone right then and there. He told me I could purchase it there, but I should call the 800 number and let them help me activate it over the phone because they had to charge me in the store if I wanted to activate it on the spot. After seeing the outrageous prices of some of their accessories, I went to an authorized dealer at the Crenshaw Mall about one mile away. The guy happily activated the phone for me and told me that the associate in the store lied about there being a cost to activate the phone in the store. He said that other location regularly sends customers over to their location for services that they are too lazy to perform at their corporate store. I had a far more pleasant experience with the kiosk staff at the mall than the corporate store. Oh yes... during the same visit to the corporate store, I needed this same employee to do something on my business phone. I asked him to transfer my files and contacts onto another phone (I have 2 cell phone lines). He told me to call into the 800 number and they would help me with it because it took to long to do it in the store. I told him I would wait. He said he would transfer everything and when I got the new phone that was supposed to have all of my pictures and contacts, less than 25% of everything was transferred. The guy at the kiosk at Crenshaw Mall told me this was another common issue that clients complained about at the corporate location. I was not able to get the contacts or pictures off that phone because the staff at the corporate store sent it back to the insurance company and I only realized so much of my information was missing as I tried to access pictures and contacts as the days went on. It's sad that I had to leave the CORPORATE store very dissatisfied and go to a kiosk at the mall to get help with my issues. Next time I will give them my business instead of wasting my time at the corporate location. read more

BUSINESS: Communications (or lack thereof) FARE: Cellular Phone Service This is simply a public service announcement type deal on the status of Metro PCS. First they introduced the phone service for very low, now one of the key selling points is that you can take your old Sprint & Verizon phones and have them hooked up to their service since they are CDMA based. CDMA is Code Division Multiple Access. Metro PCS utilizes this form of cell phone technology. But here's the problem. IT DOESNT WORK. I was on craigslist the other day, and people are trying to sell their Balckberry and Moto Q phones to people who utilize the metro pcs phone service. THAT DOESNT WORK. Metro PCS service is not up to par to accept smart phones and PDA', end of story. I recently talked to a representative and they informed me that they are working on getting the MOTO Q, but they don't have it yet. Let me explain my first comment on using a Spirint phone to hookup to a metro pcs account. In my experience, some weird things happen. Metro PCS reception is deplorable, i agree with CHRIS R. 100%. But the weird thing that happens is that the service area appears to be even more dreadful. All of a sudden, places that used to work as service areas on the MEtro PCS network, NOW they have problematic reception. The phone will switch to ANALOG, will be roaming more often, and the internet im PAYING for doesn't work on the Sprint phone, which is internet capable. I've made calls and a Verizon wireless prompt will inform me I can't complete the number. So something is definitely wrong in the techanical structure of the phone service. You get what you pay for? not necessarily. See what happens is the phone service is about $50 a month (for unlimited right). Let's say you lose your phone and want to get a bill so you can see all the calls that you have placed? That service cost $60 AND takes 4-6 weeks. That is unacceptable. Also, take into account the phone you get with your service, you are usually paying pretty much face value. A razor cost $229 plus 50 first month brings you to $279. So what's my point? Here is my point. Cell phone companies need to become more customer oriented. The early termination fees, hidden cost, all that. That needs to stop. If someone has insufficient credit, LOWER the deposit, and have them pay most of the cost upfornt. Oh, and most importantly, IF you disconnect the service of someone, DO NOT KEEP CHARGING THEM A MONTH|LY BILL (SPRINT IM TALKING TO YOU). How in the world can you justify a monthly charge when the phone is not able to be used? After a couple months, their late bill has turned into a car note size payment. Here is what a phone company needs to do: Explain all fees and costs for each respective plan, AFTER taxes Have a REEVALUATE 2nd month, so based on first month's usage, the consumer can see if they need to alter their plan (more or less minutes) Explicitly explain delinquency policies, and maintain a limit for a customer, the maximum being $100 (unless the customer has a business account or amaizngly great credit AND takes the proper steps to allocate this leverage.) Trust me, someone will be much more willing to pay $100 then try to start a new phone service with another company. Explain the coverage area explicitly, find where the customer does most of their calling from. IF YOU FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE (COMMON SENSE) RULES CONGLOMERATE PHONE COMPANIES......YOU WILL MAINTAIN A HIGHER CUSTOMER RATING....AND LOWER CUSTOMER TURNOVER. Just my two cents read more

I switched to Metro PCS just over a year ago. Now I need to get a third phone as the first one stopped charging and then the replacement phone stopped charging. I am on my third charger as well. The staff I have talked to in Baldwin Hills including Mgr are less than helpful. Metro PCS should stand behind the products they sell instead of suggesting that I send my phone to the manufacturer for 2 months for repair. What the hell am I paying insurance for? This review isn't necessarily for the store in Los Angeles but rather an authorized dealer in the Antelope Valley (2321 East Ave. S #E7, Palmdale, CA 93550). We went in recently to sort of test drive their service to save some money on a shared plan. Upon making the service and phone purchases, we were offered to buy hands free headsets, better safe than sorry right? Well upon getting home on the same afternoon, one the service was terrible, comparing the internet browsers with our phones that were still connected with our other provider, took over 5 minutes to load the same page. Signal strength was terrible even in our own living room, I'd be terrified to have their service while stuck in a bad situation. We finally decided it wasn't worth it after all just to save some money, however looking over our contract, we noticed a slight clause which stated that we had 7 days to return the phones for a full refund so long as we haven't used the service for more than ONE hour total, I'm not exactly sure what they consider to be a valid "test drive" for their service but I'd imagine it to be similar to getting to a car dealership and getting to turn on the car of your dreams then being told okay now to drive it off the lot, you need to pay us X amount... Finally returning the phones and canceling the service, we were greeted by a disgrunteled store manager and they wouldn't even refund our still in the box headsets. The reason being of this particular store manager being that we could have swapped them out for different or broken headsets, take into consideration that these are the same headsets that were sitting on the counter between us! read more

My Metro PCS experience was awful. I signed with them because my address was to have a strong connection & they said I had 7 days for a full refund, phone & service. The first phone did not work so I returned the next day to exchange it.When I used the new phone I found out the sevice is very poor and I had no service at my home. I took the phone back for my refund and they said they could not refund the phone because I exchanged the defective phone & that voided my 7 day return . On my exchange receipt it states the 7 day return policy "no questions asked".They said because my receipt was an even exchange it no longer worked for the price of the phone. I noticed that many the other reviews were written a few years ago, .and the times they are a changin'...even at MetroPCS. The phone selection is minimal as before, but with a more sophisticated lineup. I've used their service off and on for the past 3-4 years. I'll be returning soon, and the only reason I left was because my boss was paying for it and wanted to use Verizon....until he got the bill!!! Don't be fooled into thinking that low prices = poor service. If you call being "upsold" by AT&T, good customer service, then that's the company for you. I think that remark about MetroPCS being ghetto is pretty dumb. The only reason the wealthy won't use them is because most of their $500-1000 phones can't be serviced by MetroPCS. But now they are selling Blackberry's, Androids/Smartphones....so stick around. If you really MUST own a phone that expensive when the technology lasts for les than a year, go on ahead. And your $10 dispute....geesh...I have NEVER had these issues with this company.
