I moved into a new place where it was still wired for telephone. Luckily, it was Cat 5e and just needed to be reterminated. The WiFi in my home office was abysmal, and I work and run my business from home so I needed to be up and running as soon as possible. Michael was one of the first people to respond to me and offered to come over the next day. He was knowledgeable over the phone, and for some reason was one of the only people who I reached out to that understood what I was talking about. He provided an on-site estimate and reterminated the telephone cables to data the same day. His quote was comparable to others I reached out to. Michael is extraordinary! Don't hesitate to call him for assistance. We recently bought a house and signed up for Cox internet and the signal did not reach throughout our house. We could not connect to our Ring camera and Ring doorbell and had bad connection throughout the house. We decided to try to buy a mesh network and reached out to Michael to see if he can assist with installing the mesh network so we didn't have to go through with Best Buy's team. Michael was super responsive and called me right back, came out the same day, and advised us to get a much better mesh system through Eero and bought our own modem instead of using Cox's equipment. We went to Best Buy and got the recommended mesh network and our own modem and by the time we got back, Michael had mostly finished everything and even called Cox to connect our new modem for us. Michael is a veteran in this field! With his 30 years of experience he was able to guide me through the initial planning of where I wanted my Ethernet and how to remain minimally invasive (I wanted no drywall repairs). When he came for the initial estimate he pointed out suggestions to avoid having to take out drywall. He also gave me options on where it would all terminate and how (e.g. wall plate, patch panel, bare wire, etc.). On installation day, Michael and his son were a stellar duo! They ran Ethernet in my two story home to 5 different rooms. They mostly used Cat6e (Michael claims it is the same price and a bit better than Cat6) and 1 Cat6a for the longest run. The cables were CMR rated (good for running in walls), but 1 of our runs was outside along the side of the house to avoid drywall cutting. I hope this cable holds up, over the years. Michael does have a 5-year warranty on his work though. They were able to remain minimally invasive (only 1 drywall repair for our high vaulted master bedroom was required and Michael patched it). They also mounted a PoE security cam outside my garage. Overall I'm happy, we are fully wired throughout the house, and getting 10Gbps speeds (on our internal network)! read more

Michael was very patient and accommodating to our ever changing schedule. When we were able to get a time scheduled, he came over and provided a very thorough consult -- going up the attic to asses our set up, and even the crawl space! I needed to have data cabling run for my office relocation. I got three quotes and Michael (of MD Telecommunications) not only had the best price... but the best service. He walked the job during the quote process and made excellent suggestions for the needed work, he had the best warranty on the work and provided a certificate of insurance at no extra cost! It was an easy choice to choose MD Telecommunications. (And you should too) After giving Michael the bid, it was time to see if what he promised me would come true... and not only did it come true, but he also exceeded my expectation by tenfold! His flexibility with scheduling was a huge asset, since the suite was still being built out; he modified his schedule to meet the construction company timelines and changes to their schedule. He partook in the weekly construction calls to stay on top of the details. He was always ready and available to work whenever it was required. And this was not a 'one and done' job. He had to do the prep work, then come back to do the cable termination when the walls went up, then he had to come back when the cubicles were installed to run the cabling in the cubicles and wire, terminate and put in the jacks. The quality of the work was top notch! Michael knows his business inside and out. He takes pride in the work that he does and does not cut any corners - as an example, the way the 3" thick wiring is neatly bundled, the placement of where the connections are put, and right down to the color of the jacks that are used to match the environment. If someone pays that much attention to the very minor details, you know the big stuff is done perfectly right! Now I must tell you about communication; Michael was an expert at communicating with me and keeping me in the loop with any required information. He always answered my calls or texts immediately. I found Michael here on Yelp using the "get estimates" feature and I'm glad I did. I needed 2 ethernet cable runs in my house, and wasn't exactly sure how I'd do it. I was really worried about drywall issues (I'm a renter, and either way didn't want to mess around much with drywall repair). Several businesses quoted me a price quickly per run, Michael did not. He wanted to come to see and do an estimate. I *almost* didn't bother and just chose one of the other folks, but I just got a not so great feeling about people who'd quote without seeing it. Michael ended up being a bit higher than those quotes, but the same day he did the estimate I had him do the job. He figured out a great way to do these runs that essentially caused no drywall damage at all. I couldn't be happier, he was friendly and professional, and clearly knows what he's doing. Michael is an absolute rockstar! We recently moved into a rental while we look to buy and much to our horror, none of the ethernet ports in the rooms were set up for the internet, they were just set up as phone lines.
