BUYERS BEWARE: I have been a Metro PCS customer since 2004. It really is unfortunate to read these reviews for METRO PCS, but after visiting one of their retailing stores in RWC (1015 El Camino Real, RWC CA 94063) I now understand the frustration of these customers. All I wanted to do was buy a phone. I did not want to pay any activation fee to change from old to new. I have done the switch over the phone FREE OF CHARGE many a times by calling 611. I had mentioned this to the sales associate and he said that he was unable to sell the phone to me unless I pay the activation fee. I had told him that I knew about the BYOD program, the sim card switch, the ESN change on the website and can easily do this later .. But he got upset and said "look I don't care how it used to be, this is how it is now.. if you don't pay then no phone" and like a kid he picked up the new phone I chose from the counter walked away refusing to sell it to me. Then laughed when I started walking toward the door and shouted "it don't matter where you go buy , you'll have to pay us". I don't get nor understand why any company would refuse to sell product to a paying customer. This associate took it too personal when he should have just done business and helped his teams sales. It is unfortunate that this location allows their team to take things personal if they do not get the sale their way. I of course walked out confused and empty handed and immediately called 611 to ask about this new mandatory activation fee Just as I thought METRO PCS 611 representative said they do not charge any fee to activate any phone. They suggested I choose another retail store to buy a new phone and just like I said, they mentioned that I should call them to do the switch free of charge. I did ask this 611 rep if the retailers associates get commission from this so called activation fee. The rep did say like it sounds like it. Had a great experience at this location this week. I went in because I wanted to buy my mom a new phone. The young man who helped us was so patient with us especially with my active 2 year old.. I believe the associates name was Ivan. He even noticed my moms phone plan was outdated and helped us by getting her to 5g! Will definitely be back to see Ivan for any future visits! read more

This has to be the absolute worst Metro location ever. You walk in and everyone working there is either giving you a death look or bullshitting (not talking about anything phone related) with other coworkers. Almost every person in there seems to be an angry fat chick...you know, the ones with attitudes for no reason.... Anyway, I have been here for various problems and every time the solution is to wait 10 days for them to order something. DO THEY EVER HAVE ANYTHING IN STOCK? I am talking about this has happened 4+ times! So, this last time, I go in thinking I'm having a battery problem, so the chick tells me I need to buy a $40 battery, but, they don't have any. One of the people working there said "we aren't allowed to order them anymore" So she sends me all the way to East Palo Alto to buy a battery, and doesn't offer/ bother to call them to ask if they have any in stock..... There solution to everything at this location seems to be to have you order some part or replace you new phone with a refurbished one after waiting 10 days, and that's that. They have NO customer service skills. Besides this, every time I go here I end up waiting forever, only to get some rude clerk who can't do her job right and you get charged to pay your bill.....Even though the EPA location didn't have my battery, I will be going there from now on because they are very helpful and seem like they like their jobs at that location. read more

I had a great exsperience with Alen! I had to get a new phone, I through my last one into the washer lol me not knowing a lot about gigs, pixles ect. Alen was so helpful & patient with me I've been with them for over 15 years. This place is the original Tower of Babel...the idiot who signed us up apparently should go back to ESL training or maybe just go back to third grade...all of the numbers were wrong on the contract so when we paid the bill online a few days ago, they managed to pick up the money at the bank BUT after having the phone cut off and dealing with robots (not those smart ones either) on the phone, it seems the money has gone somewhere but no one knows where....oh yes, it may take up to 72 hours to find it! THIS IS TECHNOLOGY??? Otherwise, we will be cut off again....do not even try to get customer service on the website...IT IS NOT REACHABLE!!! read more

Then this girl answers the phone by saying "yes" so I respond is this metro pcs, and she goes "yes" (why does she answer the phone as if it was her personal line?) So, I haven't had Metro since 2006. I have Verizon now, but on my trappin' iPhone I was using Googlefi. Google has clearly lost there mind with the price so, I went looking for a new carrier. I landed on Metro. I walked in there observing the changes, nodding because they started frm the bottom and they was getting here. I got help in seconds, instants even. Hello welcome to Metro he says Hey, I'm trying to switch to metro I say account and pin number he asked confused i look. I'm dont have a Metro account I tell him I know, but we still need ur account and pin number he tells me. oh, well, it's a prepaid account, googlefi I explained confused yeah, still, he says turning to his supervisor and asking he needs his account and pin right. he didnt even look up as he said right. after a few silent minutes where he looked over me and started helping the person who walked in, I slide out not to be further embarrassed by being denied Metro. I'm still confused on what happened. im scared to go to walmart and just buy a sim card now read more

leslie is terrific: i wish every store i have been to had a service representative like leslie. i am not technical, so i need all the help i can get. leslie provided ll the help i needed and much, much more. she went above and beyond. leslie is knowledgeable patient, considerate and spent over an hour helping me. after i got home i had some problems, so my caregiver went up to the store 3 times to do trouble shooting. leslie was excellent in handling things. she was always tolerant and cheerful. and, she always knew exactly what to do. leslie is an accet to metro pcs. you are fortunate to have her as as employee. she gets my highest praise. read more

Metro PCS store at sequoia station, redwood city. This is the only location of metro pcs which has the WORST customer service and service. They are way TOO lazy to check the payment box daily. And they always deactivate the customers phone without checking the payment box first. So customers have to suffer from the lines being deactivated for hours!! If you complain about it, they would say "don't you read there's a notification for all payments take 48 hours process?". WOW,,,,What an attitude!! Why other locations can do a good service but not you? My advice: Don't go to this location if you have other options!!! If you call, they will put you on the line and never get back with you. I understand they get busy, but at least tell your customers to call back or ask their phone numbers and call them back. Not just keep customers waiting on the line. The best location with best customer service and service is the one in mountain view. And the one in middlefield, redwood city. but too bad this middlefield location doesn't have payment box. read more

Alex is awesome. Customers today are so well informed on the internet. I knew what I wanted, and he helped me get exactly what I wanted. Very professional. On top of that, he kept us all safe in this tough time. Customers came in - some with their masks slipping - but team Metro made sure they put them back on to keep everyone else safe. Also, a shoutout to Leslie. She made the atmosphere much more fun while I waited to get my new service. First time customer - first time experience was great - all bc of the Alex and the team at MetroPCS Redwood City. Eric was my hero and saved the day! I am a teacher and cannot function without in the classroom without a phone. I woke up to a dead device (newly purchased stylo 6, only 3 months old). I brought it in and Eric assured me it was covered under warranty and considering my circumstances of needing a phone immediately to be able to get back in my classroom that day he set up a new phone for me then in there. I also discovered to my horror my malfunctioned phone wiped out most of memory card when it committed suicide. Eric was kind enough to show me how to use the to use the google drive feature on the phone to back up my what remained (contacts and pics)so it wouldn't happen again. I did just that when I got home that night! He got me up and running and back with my students in under and hour. Very happy with my experience! read more

This store, is terrible!!!!! Never go there.. I went there to get a replacement phone, and I was told i had to wait 7 days and I would receive a phone call when it had arrived.. After I received a call 10 days later, I went in to pick up my phone on the first available day, and they had sold the phone I was waiting for. I asked to speak to the manager who just waved me off, and said it was my fault for waiting to long to come in. I let her listen to the message she left on my voicemail stating the day to come in, she said she had no record for me and I was to wait another 7-10 days for a new order.. If you want to be treated like you don't matter and unprofessional manner go to this store... If not go to Belmont, they are way nicer.. The staff at redwood city should be FIRED! I should have looked on Yelp before I went to this location because I am not surprised at the bad reviews. Let me tell you, they are lazy, arrogant, and ignorant customer service people. I will never recommend or patronize this company ever, and I will tell everyone I know how horrible they treated me. I went to this store to buy a phone, and wasn't helped (even though there was no other customer in sight) until after I stood in front of them (them..meaning...6 reps just sitting and talking to each other) for 5 minutes with no acknowledgement and finally I said, "hello, can I buy a phone?" One person girl said, "yes" and proceeded to cut some paper she was cutting...and never continued helping me. NO ONE HELPED. Eventually I got fed up and left. THE CLERKS HAVE MAJOR ATTITUDE AND STICK UP FOR EACH OTHER'S LAZINESS. I don't even want to talk to people who use METRO, that's how bad this store made me feel. place has long lines and sell crap for $30 i can get on amazon or ebay for $3.99 including shipping...AS FAR AS THEYRE SERVICE FEES ECT, YOU CAN'T BEAT IT.....AT&T VERIZON ECT, RIPOFFS....Metro pcs is no contract and a flat rate monthly....plus I can get all the vids and ringtones I want for free on limewire so, Big props for designing some of the phones to where they can do that,,,and for metro gps navigator, sometimes I would be lost without it. I have a Motorola Hint QA30 and am extremely satisfied with it, just wish I would have gotten it all cheaper online. 3 stars for no contracts and features on the phones!!! negated the two stars because of the long lines ya gotta go through if you must go down there in person. Also for theyre expensive rates on everything,,,,I just got 4 genuine motorola backup batteries for my phone (for camping trip) on e-bay for around $20 ALL...In the store this would have been about $30-$40 each battery! read more

I've been with Metro 10 plus years I've always been happy with their service recently I buy a phone the ZTE it's failing me miserably I go in the problem is intermittent of course they cannot see the problem the best thing to do with a master reset and then go from there the phone is less than 2 weeks old they will not let me upgrade they said the sale is final the service is very poor one very unsatisfied customer I will look elsewhere where the customer service is a whole lot better. read more
