Over the years they have saved us thousands of dollars and been an important part of our budget raising a family of four on one modest income. In all that time I have only had a couple of experiences with what I would call "less than friendly cashiers". Mostly they've been helpful, accommodating, efficient, and super friendly. When my kids were growing up, (and now my grandkids) they liked coming here just to visit their favorite cashiers because they were always greeted like one of the family. Each trip is like a treasure hunt. You never know what great buys you'll find, so remember to bring a cooler to stock up! There are some things that aren't as competitively priced, but rarely have I left without finding anything at all. I try to come atleast a couple times a month. I may not find everything I want on each trip, but it's definitely been worth it for our family to keep coming back consistently because of the changing inventory and good deals. A lot of the time fruits and vegetables are ripe and ready to eat, but since we usually eat them quickly, or immediately freeze or can them, it's not been much of an issue. Once got a crate of strawberries for .50/lb, culled out a few moldy ones, ate what we wanted then froze the rest for smoothies. Done the same with bananas, blueberries, avocados, etc. Occasionally dairy products and frozen meats may be slightly out dated, but again for the same reason it's not been much of a problem, especially considering the $$$ saved. I've found fantastic prices on organic and gluten free foods. Since dry or shelved organic foods contain less preservatives they don't keep as long after the expiration date, but in over 20 years shopping here that's rarely been an issue. They do have a 7 day return window (with receipt) and the few times I've needed to return an item, staff was very apologetic and accommodating. One caveat, if you're not into "black Friday like" crowds I would recommend shopping as soon as they open on Saturday morning or late in the afternoon (their busiest day). The stores are clean, but the facilities aren't new or fancy, so if that's important to you this may not be your cup of tea. But if friendly service and PRICE!!! matter, then you won't be disappointed!
