Avoid this pool service - extremely unprofessional and rude I had a terrible experience with this company. They missed a scheduled pool service this Wednesday and never contacted me. I have been at home the whole day on Wed and my car was in the yard as well which can be clearly seen from the backyard door. I called Friday morning around 8 am and left a message, but no one called back. When I called again later at 2:30 pm, someone finally picked up. I asked why no one showed up this week. The man on the phone told me "Your yard was locked, and we're not supposed to ring the bell. If the gate is locked, we don't provide service." I was shocked - this was never communicated in advance, and nothing about it is mentioned in the contract. I'm a new customer - how would I possibly know about this "unlocked gate" rule if no one ever explained it to me? I asked this question, and he shouted "I am telling you RIGHT NOW!" with a very disrespectful tone. He was practically yelling at me over the phone. As a customer, I've never been treated like this before in my entire life. When I asked about making up for the missed service, he refused and said they'd only come next Wednesday. I reminded him that I paid for four weekly services per month, and now I'm only getting three. He said they won't make it up because "last time we added a lot of chlorine, so this week we wouldn't have done anything anyway." This logic is unacceptable. I paid for consistent weekly service - not "maybe" service based on their judgment. I also raised a legitimate concern: keeping my gate unlocked all day is a security risk, especially when I don't even know what time they'll come. He mocked me, saying "We have 3,000 customers and everyone else leaves their gates open for us and none of them has a problem' He clearly blamed me for the missed service and dismissed my valid concerns about safety. When I questioned why they blamed me for the miscommunication instead of taking responsibility, the man hung up the phone on me. Completely unprofessional, no respect for customers, and very poor communication. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company. There are better, more respectful pool services out there. read more

I've done business with MPC for 31 years. I took a break in service about 15 years ago, and it was a mess. I am NOT a chemist and have no desire to be one. They are good at what they do. I still do my part to maintain it; keep the skimmers and the filter clean. The pool looks great. If you want someone to skim the leaves and wash the filter, it would cost 3 times as much. Had MPC Metro Pool Chemicals for two years since our pool was new, builder referred us. Happy with the service until they regular guy left and we got a new guy. They came out last Monday on March and put 5 pounds of conditioner and chlorine gas in it (per their records) and the following week our pool had an oil slick on the surface with colored foam floating everywhere. Reached out to Mike at MPC and he said water was fine and that I "had my salt cell on super chlorinate". I explained I touch nothing. Went out and checked and it was on 4% as always Anyways , the pool paster is discolored, as is the grout and travertine. MPC refuses to accept any responsibility. I would not recommend them for your pool. If something goes wrong Mike and Chris blame everyone else but their technicians. Leslie's tested the water as did the Pentair representative who both say the water imbalance is basically destroying the plaster and the equipment. I'm having to have pool drained, acid washed and re balanced on my dime. I'm not sure if Pentair will continue my warranty on my equipment because of the damage already to heat exchanger. This Company is worthless. They come by once a week, throw some Chlorine gas in the pool, do not check any of the other readings, and when algae starts growing, it is always something you are not doing right. Nothing to do with the fact they just dump chlorine in the pool and never do anything about the PH level, or alkalinity levels. They are cheap, but now I understand why. read more

I have been a customer of Metro Pools for 4 years. They are reasonably priced, excellent service and extremely helpful. Colby, who services the pools, is polite, quick and efficient. He is a great resource to help you with any pool issues. They focus on pools chemicals, however, they have a solid list of friends to recommend if you have a major problem. I have been a customer of Metro Pool Chemical for at least a year. I thought they were a reasonably priced way to maintain my pool. I have had two friends refer them to me but it is definitely the blind leading the blind. My pool has been having issues and is in need of repair so sadly this summer I let it go. I let it drain so that I could get it repaired and start from scratch. My filter has not been on the entire summer. What little water that I have had has stayed blue. On 8/24 I sent an email saying that I would like to discontinue my service. I was under the impression that based on the notes they left on my door that my water level was too low to be serviced. and I asked to have my bill redone if it was not being serviced. I guess that is now not true and those notes were a "courtesy", I guess because I'm not smart enough to know that the water is low. I was also advised that they have not received the two emails that I sent to the email address listed online. Well, Kevin came to my house on 9/10 and "serviced" my pool and it turned the gross sewer green that no pool owner wants to see. I emailed them (again) with pictures asking why this has happened when my pool has not had an issue all summer. I was advised by Mike that it was due to my pool filter not working correctly. Well, my pool filter had not been on at all this summer and I sent before and after pictures showing that and have not had a response. I say all of this to say that the customer service is not great. I have not encountered a pool professional who would refer them and they don't tend to take responsibility for what they do. You will, of course, make your own decision but I hope that this will at least cause you to pause and realize that there is better out there. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! If you are currently using them I would highly recommend to have another pool company check your levels so you can see what is truly going on. I have used this pool company for about 3 years at two different houses. I recently moved out of the area so I needed a company that would provide more than just chemical treatment. I had multiple companies tell me they either would not at all service my pool or them servicing my pool would basically be like chasing their tail because of the stabilizer levels. Per industry recommendations the stabilizer levels should be as low as 20 ppm and up to 100 ppm. Metro has mine at 200 ppm. After extensive research I have found out that my chlorine that they are putting in my pool and I am most likely paying for is completely useless because the stabilizer is locking the chlorine and not allowing it to do its job. It is now going to cost me at least $350 to have another pool company drain my pool about 90% and rebalance the chemicals once new water is added and that doesn't include the cost of refilling my pool which will cost about $150-$200. I asked Metro if they would be willing to drain my pool for me since they are the only company that has touched this pool since I have owned the home and their response was "we do not do any maintenance." I next asked if they would cover the cost to have another company drain and rebalance the water and was told very adamantly that they are unwilling to fix their wrong.
