It finally couldn't go any longer. We called Brakefield Pool and the owner, Jay, came out. He confirmed it indeed was time. Our tile grout was starting to come out too. Quoted us a very fair price (we had looked around and they were pretty much on par) for replastering. They did try to save our tile so it wasn't an extra cost but Jay showed me how water was getting behind the tiles and gently tapping them I saw 3 tiles fall off and agreed. They replastered, new tile and grout and sealed the deck (that was our choice). Never felt pressured to get anything. Very upfront and honest and takes the time to make sure you understand what/why they're doing.

They decided to clean my filter without my knowledge and charged me. I never hired them to clean my filter or any other service other than chemicals only. They then proceeded to charge me for the filter cleaning. After I refused to pay for the filter cleaning, they immediately cancelled my contract. I do not recommend these guys. I would rather pay double than hire this company.

We did discuss with them last spring fixing the ones that fell off, they gave us an estimate for repair, which we felt was too high as the tiles had never been applied properly to the pool wall. See the pictures of what we are seeing today all of the tiles will likely fall off as the year goes. Based on research, pool tiles should last and stay in place at least 10-15 years or more if applied correctly, these didn't even make it half way. I really expected a quality job from them, but I guess not. See pictures of how the tiles are looking today.

She is sharp, has all the answers (can schedule on her own, apparently, and knows what the leak detection report costs and even what it would cost (as I suspect is necessary) to replace my skimmer, which has a big crack in it. She sent FORREST to do the leak detection, and he did the skimmer replacement. I think I still have another problem, which he couldn't find, but I'd rather wait to know for sure anyway. He was honest in telling me, Kylie confirmed, and I'll wait until the ground (at the edge of EML lake) dries in the summer, and the leak may get worse. On repair day, Forrest showed up on time, and he and his helper were personable. Oh, and check out troublefreepool.com. There is a way to do a COMPLETE JOB HERE. We've been with Panther City for two weeks and can honestly say that their service is OUTSTANDING. I sent requests for bids to 5 companies on Yelp and 4 of them kind of blew me off... ya know... send us pictures, send us your personal info... blah blah without any commitments to come out and look. Zack was straight forward and said when he could be out to take a look with a free estimate (sat morning). He was running a little late when he came out but was courteous and notified me ahead of time that he'd be a little late... so no big deal. He was very reasonable with his pricing (I had already looked up the pricing for parts before he got there) and was very happy he didn't try to up sell me or pad his labor costs. I said: great, when can you come out? Expecting him to say in a week or two (like the other pool companies usually do). Nope. He said: Monday afternoon. I was thrilled with the quick timeframe. He showed up on Monday and got to work. He got the light replaced first (which was no easy task... the ledge on that side of the pool is raised several feet higher which makes it difficult to access the light without getting in the water). Not only did he replace the bulb but also the housing and cable that ran under the cement to the light switch. Then he took out the 30 year old heater (that sucker weighed over 100lbs easy) and it's 100 degrees out today... also not an easy task. He fixed the pipes and then started working on the motor. He got that installed and the thing is sooo much quieter than the old one. As we were looking at the pump we noticed some water leaking from one of the connections into the pump. So he says that he can fix that (mind you, it almost 6pm... I'm sure he wanted to go home and get out of the heat, but he took the extra step to give exceptional service). He went to his truck found a new seal and fixes the connection. Didn't even charge extra for it. Really, really happy with his performance! World class service! Will definitely use again!

We had used this company for years and never had an issue. That all changed after the freeze…read morehappened. I know parts were scarce and companies were over worked so we were very understanding that there wouldn't be an immediate fix. It took awhile for them to come out but that was still understandable. This is where it goes from run of the mill delay to an outright series of lies and waste of time. When our normal technician came out he began his work and I told him to let me know if he needed anything. After awhile he brought me outside and I could see that there were some parts on the ground. He told me he needed to go get a part and he would be back shortly. Okay cool so I waited as I had cleared my schedule to make sure if anything came up I'd be there. At the time I didn't realize it but he didn't specify what part it was that he needed. It was just a part and he never returned. To this day he has never returned and that was back in March. I called the main office and spoke with the supposed owner who said he would personally come out and see what's going on. He never came and stopped returning all phone calls and emails. Having no idea what part was needed or what stage of fixing the problem he was originally in I couldn't figure out how to fix it. Today as of writing this post is the first time we were able to get another company out to work on the pool turned swamp. So after paying this company thousands to replace some things a couple years prior we now have to pay a different company to replace things that wouldn't have been ruined if they would've done their job or at least let us know what the issue was. So before you give them a chance I want you to know exactly who you're dealing with.
