The red flags during our first home viewing should have made me reconsider. He was 10 minutes late to our first showing (which this trend continued at every other showing if he even bothered to show up), he did not do his homework prior to the viewing and could not answer our questions regarding the home, and he followed us around the home with his face in his phone as he was trying to quickly learn the property from the listing online. What I will compliment David on is his knowledge of structure and function of a home. He is extremely knowledge about structural integrity, "the bones" of a home, and what to look for when looking at a home. We were really impressed with his knowledge which is why we continued working with him. The process of finding the home itself was very impersonal. He relied heavily on an online system that auto generates listings in your area based on your needs. David never personally reached out suggesting homes and my fiance and I ended up finding the home we purchased by ourselves using Zillow. We scheduled a home viewing that worked with David's schedule and he let us know his sister, who is also an agent, would be tagging along. I get a text message 20 minutes before the viewing from an unknown number, stating it was David's sister and she would be showing us the house. David did not excuse himself with or let us know that he would not make it and AND he gave out my personal cell phone number without my permission! This too happened during our final walkthrough where he stood us up and sent his sister without letting us know. Once we found the home (which he again did not do him homework on during the viewing) and the process of working with attorneys and the sellers began, that is where the real trouble began. David completed our first contract incorrectly and it had to be rewritten and resigned, he came unreliable and impossible to reach! I We had to reschedule our meeting with our lender because David did not send the fully executed contract on time, I ended up sending most fully executed contracts and addendums to our attorney because David did not after multiple requests and multiple promises by him that he would. Towards the end of the process David was IMPOSSIBLE to be reached. I reached out to him for 2 weeks straight requesting that a fully executed addendum be submitted to our attorney with absolutely no response. There was such bad communication on David's part. We felt like we were put on the back burner and unimportant working with David. We were first time homebuyers and were completely left alone to guide ourselves through this scary and new process. It was really stressful and disappointing. To top it all off, after closing, we went to our newly purchased home and the sellers were still there! I called their agent directly as I tried to call David with no response (which was not a surprise as he never ever responded) and he said that David told him their clients that we would not be going to the property until the next day, so they were able to move after closing! It was the icing on the cake. If you are familiar with the closing process maybe consider hiring David, but for new buyers unfamiliar with the process, proceed with caution!
