But I'm still part of their community on social media and love being able to continually connect with past grads. I may be a little biased, but there is not better high school in the Omaha area. My 4 years here were INCREDIBLE. Amazing classes, teachers, students, and activities. I basically started my nonprofit career here whilst a student. I was able to volunteer and be a leader for many awesome opportunities and local nonprofits. And Mr. Baker fully cemented my commitment to politics and advocacy. I still have a massive collection of t-shirts from my years here - Spanish Club, after prom, class shirts, etc. Want to be prepared for college? Look no further. AP and honors classes galore. Want to do sports? Marian is the winning school with some of the best coaches. Want a sense of community and connections that'll last a lifetime? Oh that's definitely Marian. I still know the "Marian beat" by heart. And you've never seen a Field Day like what it is at Marian. Just going to Marian puts you in a special club with connections and friendships and community that last a lifetime. I tell everyone to go here. And I shall continue to do so. And oh my how the campus has grown and just gotten better! It's an absolutely stellar opportunity and experience.

They told me to fill out my application once more online…read more The financial aid office had trouble processing my financial aid twice even though I had no loans or other financial aids from my previous institutes. I called my previous school 3 weeks before NMC to make sure all of my financial aid information transferred into NMC. I just got into UNMC. There is no way that I am giving NMC a third chance. My friend got accepted into NMC and has to pay for module courses and additional classes that are not relevant for nursing. They cost around $5,250 to complete before entering the nursing program!? I asked her if she wanted to continue going into the program even with that cost and she said this is the only one she got accepted to. Reading other reviews before signing onto yelp.com made me realize that the school is not hard to get into. They seem to be desperate for more students. I read in another review that they have been sending people who work from the school to pose as students answering questions from online message boards. The school will brag about the low cost of their program, nice and helpful staff, great program with high NCLEX pass rate and competitive nursing GPA. Well, my friend talked with her girl who attends NMC. This girl got a 3.0 GPA in her prerequisites and a 2.80 in her overall GPA from undergrad after acceptance into their nursing program. She also talked with students from other programs saying that the school charges $425/unit for modules for students who fail the NCLEX. Although admissions said that I could still get a seat in their nursing program after all the mistakes that have happened, I would have to say NO!

Their department is also very unhelpful as far as helping students graduate and suggesting courses. I have some good experiences to but unfortunately those outweigh those.

As an alum, I couldn't be more proud to see how it's grown in the last few years. During my undergrad years in the early to mid 2000s, I spent my time bumping between classes, buildings and, for a while there, majors. There was always a friendly face, it seemed, willing to strike up a conversation in front of the student center or library or just waiting outside of a classroom. Back then, UNO was easing out of being an urban commuter campus. The first rounds of dorms had been built and the campus was just starting to come to life with around-the-clock amenities. Still, the school was entrenched in Division II sports, living in the shadow of UN-L and the Huskers just a few miles away in Lincoln. Now, UNO has a full fledged D-I sports program, riding high off of the hockey team's first appearance in the Frozen Four. Both the Dodge Street and Pacific Street campuses are rapidly filling in parking lots with new educational, administrative, recreational and residential buildings, anchored on the south end with Aksarben Village and the soon-to-be-opened Baxter Arena. At the end of my time at UNO, I wound up with an English degree and a great job shortly after graduating. I couldn't ask for much more than that. Funny thing, as good as I had it, there's no better time than right now to be a Mav!

I was immediately struck by the multiple pottery wheels when I walked in - the perfect place to have a pottery party or take a class and get your hands dirty! The only downside was that I didn't have time to sit at a wheel myself and spin a creation of my own - I'll be back!

Bethany is a brilliant educator. Her diagrams make learning stick. Kevin may be the best instructor ive ever had and ive personally been an AHA instructor. I drove 7hrs to recert my courses here because i KNEW id have a great experience. Well the AHA website wouldnt load the precourse videos. I went to class anyway and told kevin what happened. Thankfully he understood and let me take the course. After 4 days of trying, multiple phone calls to AHA, I contacted Bethany and told her what was going on. She helped me get the precourse videos to play so I could get my cards within a few hours! I am very thankful for all she did to help. Otherwise AHA said it would be 7-10 business days and I couldnt miss work. She understood that and personally called me to help me. Anytime I can recert here, i will.

Lessons are 6 weeks, Wednesday or Thursday, there is a morning session or an evening available. The downside: there are only 2 sessions a year. Spring and Fall. I absolutely love it. I do slab work; he has pottery wheels available for experienced potters who want to use them. The courses are suitable for adults of ANY level of experience, including absolute beginners.

This is a school and she is one of the pros there. She knew my stressful, sad week and lovingly laid her hands on me with a great massage, thoughtfully applied pressure and avoiding the areas we had agreed were not part of this action, this time. Needed to find a massage therapist quickly due to some back issues since my normal therapist was…read moreclosed. Quick Google search and found Midwest School of Massage located off of 84th Street. Midwest School of Massage has students conducting their training as well as licensed masseurs. Prices are very reasonable with you getting a discount if one of the students works on you. Very easy to make an appointment. Mine was same day. Small waiting room, but pleasantly decorated. Nice, polite receptionist. Fill out a two page form providing the particulars about yourself and the issues you are having. I ended up getting two massages at this location. First massage was with Rosemary who is a certified therapy and also assists with instruction at the school. I had some difficult areas in my back, neck and shoulders that needed to be worked fairly aggressively and Rosemary was outstanding. Great understanding of the body and how it works. Really excellent massage. She also spent 30 minutes doing Reflexology on my feet which was great as well. I would definitely ask for her again if she had availability. Second massage was with Brad; a student of the school. Overall massage was good. He was also able to work a couple of my more difficult areas and help me find relief from the pain and tension. Very satisfied with both of my experiences. Very reasonable cost; for the hour with the certified massage therapy was $55 and for the hour with the student therapist was $35. I would recommend this to anyone who was looking for a good massage for a reasonable price with the understanding that this is a school and people are there learning so each individual's experience may vary somewhat based upon the student doing the work.
