I had my first visit with them today and I found them to be very friendly and welcoming. They were courteous and cheerful...even though it was. cold and damp Monday morning! The location is close to the Parkway and has plenty of parking. The staff is very organized, and my appointment took place on time. I did not feel rushed, there was a consultation followed by the procedure. Dr Farag was very friendly and down to earth. I personally love the clark office and love one person there specifically, Jalpa Patel. She listens and recommends what she thinks will work best for my skin. I am rating this office 3 stars, because the front desk/medical desk needs better training. A girl who was fairly new told me I needed to come in for a prescription refill, when I went to my appointment... Which I had to make last minute due to traveling out of the state and needing the medication. I had to drive 45 minutes away.. My doctor Jalpa told me that I did not need to come in,she had already sent over my refill. A waste of my time , and a bill from a doctors visit that wasn't even needed? I think it is very unprofessional that someone's lack of communication caused an inconvenience for me and an avoidable bill.. Other than the front desk staff, Jalpa Patel is awesome and I recommend her to anyone struggling with acne. read more

Cannot recommend Dr. Doctoroff the owner of the Clark location. I decided to come here based off some recent good reviews on Yelp, knowing the many bad reviews that are on this page as well as on Google. Knowing that this was the only dermatologist office where I could get the soonest appointment should have been a red flag. This was the worst doctor's visit I've probably ever had in my life. The doctor has no beside manner. Not only was he sarcastic with a pompous attitude, he constantly talked down to me throughout my entire appointment. As a medical professional myself, I could not believe somebody would be rude to a patient. Every question I had was answered with a snarky comment. Avoid this place and avoid this doctor!! read more

This practice was excellent until Dr. Alisa Fox retied. After her retirement physician assistants took over. Not only the charges doubled but the quality and responsiveness to issues degraded to the lowest level. Office managers promise but never call back. This is the first time I have ever felt the need to post something negative, but it has to be done. The aesthetician that works at Metropolitan Dermatology in Clark and Scotch Plains NJ named Inga is the most unprofessional individual in every way. Starting with the fact that she gave me lip fillers without offering pain numbing cream. I only found out that that was a standard procedure to the patient - making sure that they have numbing cream on their lips, so as not to be in pain. She did not offer this. The experience was excruciating. I was horrified to learn how this is beyond unprofessional when I went to a different doctor altogether. Besides the fact that she's obviously sadistic, she kept me waiting over a half an hour to 45 minutes to even an hour for every appointment. I had six appointments. My lip filler was the last appointment and it was the biggest horror show imaginable. I would advise anybody thinking about Metropolitan Dermatology to really think twice. read more

I cannot recommend this practice or Nurse Practitioner Kristie Walton. I was diagnosed with a skin condition and spent five weeks under her care, incurring significant expenses. On my fifth visit, she "cleared" me after barely a minute, despite my condition remaining unresolved. Afterwards I witnessed her bragging to her staff about having an "easy" day, which left me feeling dismissed and unheard. Additionally, I was prescribed medication without proper instructions, leading to severe skin dryness, pain, and a nasty rash. The lack of care and attention was deeply disappointing. I strongly urge others to consider alternative providers. read more

Had a suspicious mole removed on 08/19. Told 1 -2 week wait for biopsy results, however repeatedly told "no news is good news". That statement is unprofessional. I want to know the results, period. On 08/27 I called for the results. Told they were in but couldn't tell me over the phone. So I picked them up. No explanation given. Results indicate further procedure but not a word of explanation . They never advised results were in. I have many questions and concerns but they couldn't care less. Office/medical assistants are cold and lack compassion. Walk around the exam room with long faces. Not even a smile. They avoid eye contact. I now have to seek out another dermatologist who will review my results and address my other concerns. Not the place for real medical concerns. read more

So it ended up costing a TON more to get a basic look at my skin and moles, basically a regular check-up. While her bedside manner was very nice, the doctor moved so fast, I didn't really see how she could've been thorough with a tiny magnifying glass. I have A LOT of moles and birthmarks. That said, she thought one of my birthmarks needed to be looked at and proceeded to carve out a chunk of skin from my foot. If I had known it was going to be a chunk and not a scrape of the skin (which I've had done several times), I would've declined because I was going to Disney world three days later. Needless today, it was painful walking around and I'm in shape! Ultimately, I felt like i was going through a drive-thru and would not recommend going here again. Something that was supposed to be routine, ended up costing me hundreds of dollars out of pocket and YES, I have decent insurance AND they were one of the options listed which is why I chose them. Metropolitan Dermatology in Clark is awful. I have never left a review in my life but I went to have a shave biopsy. The PA Kristie that did it said she was great at her job and it will heal fine. Well she took a chunk out of my face for a little dot that I had. The scar is 5 times the size. She was sending it out for biopsy. She never even looked through the little microscope that they use to see if it's basal or not. She just dug right in. Now I have a horrible scar after following all the instructions to a T for 6 weeks after. I went back to her with my concerns and she just smiled and said it would close up if I used trentinoin. I think it has only gotten worse 6 months later. I have spoken with other doctors and they can't believe what a horrible job this was. They all said I should have been stitched. So I don't know why she did this to me. I am so upset. I made the worst mistake going there. I only gave 1 star because I had to. It wouldn't let me leave 0. Now I have to probably spend a fortune to fix this. Elsewhere so upsetting. Also have to mention it wasn't even a basal. It was just a tiny mole. read more

My fiancé and I have come several times to the Clark location for various reasons. We love Kristie, she has wonderful bedside manner, and is excellent at what she does. My fiancé has severe white coat syndrome and she keeps him calm during his visits. She's very gentle when she has removed skin tags or warts on my face. I have never waited more than 20 minutes for a scheduled appointment, and the other staff at the front desk and upstairs are also very friendly. I won't go anywhere else! I also have received laser hair removal from Inga in the South Plainfield office and she is wonderful! read more

This place used to be great! with my recent experience with this practice I now understand the bad reviews. The administration here is lacking courtesy and is incredibly unprofessional. They don't return calls, the wait is oddly long and they will cancel or try to reschedule your appointment and will "hold" your money without service. Not to mention billing never picks up the phone. After many attempt of finally speaking to someone They give you the run around and lie to get you off the phone--Instead of rectifying a simple task. It's a shame because Inga is attentive but with this recent experience it has left a foul taste and will not be returning here and I suggest you take the bad reviews into consideration. read more

The overall office and staff are professional enough. Dr. Doctoroff seemed knowledgeable but not very skilled at his treatment, he was rushing and did not care. When doctors don't care then they are dangerous to any patient, regardless of skill level. If you must see him for whatever reason, then keep the pace slow and ask all questions, do not let him rush you. Make sure to ask him for aftercare and details of the after-visit summary. He and his assistant should have done their job to explain all these to the patient in detail, but they didn't. Perhaps, because he is the owner of the practice, that is why he was arrogant and careless. I requested a follow up appt to be free of charge, since I was not satisfied from the previous appt with incomplete treatment (he had already charged my insurance a hefty amount for a 15 mins visit); he refused the free charge request. I DO NOT recommend him. People should seek and deserve medical care from a more qualified and caring physician. read more
