I don't usually write reviews, but I am very pleased with Metropolitan Pediatrics. I saw every doctor in their practice (or called after hours panicking, since I am a first time mom) and they all have been very helpful and even took extra time review videos of my daughter to make sure I didn't have to go to ER after office hours. The office staff had always been friendly and accommodating when I needed to reschedule appointment or just asked for doctor's advice. My daughter is a year old now and we visited this practice a lot without any complains or any billing issues I noticed others listed in their reviews. We are expecting another baby in December and will continue with Metropolitan Pediatrics ! read more

So disappointed with this practice. Office staff was extremely unhelpful, and unprofessional doctors. The doctor told me she had been there for 2 years and still didn't know how to access to computer system. How can I trust you know my kids health history if you can't access it? And the hygiene??Nurses wearing jeans and baseball caps, so unprofessional, doctors who don't wash their hands or put on gloves and immediately reach for their phone. Doctor rushed out of the door, when I still had questions. So much to say about this practice but overall it feels very unprofessional, don't trust them to take care of my kids. read more

This is our toddler's pediatrician's office. Love the place. Love the staff. A month before our son was born, we did a ton of research in the Montgomery county area for a pediatrician. There were a lot of great places with some very impressive doctors. In the end Metropolitan Pediatrics came out in top. We just love how attentive the staff is and how friendly and warm the doctors are with our little one. Once you register and get to know everybody but you'll feel a lot better knowing if you need anything they're just a call away. They also recommend an app which me and my wife use, which logs our sons vitals and medications he's used. Also shows our upcoming appointments so we never forget the date. Our regular doctor is Dr. Silvestro and he's always on top of everything. Every time we come in, he seems to know everything that's going on and is always reassuring us with how we're doing. We've also come in twice outside of our appointment for emergency reasons and they've accommodated us both times. Best Pediatric practice in the area, hands down. read more

We have been taking our two year old son to Metropolitan Pediatrics since he was born and have had nothing but wonderful experiences. The care provided by Dr. Kulp and his team is truly exceptional, it completely stands apart from any other doctors offices I've ever visited in my life. He and his team are incredibly warm and caring. They obviously go out of their way to put your little one at ease, and they genuinely care about them. Today, on a Sunday, our son woke up with what we thought was pink eye. We left a voicemail on the emergency line, and within minutes Dr. Kulp called us back inviting us to come in to get it checked out so that we wouldn't have to go to an urgent care, or keep my son from daycare the following day. The entire appointment, Dr. Kulp was thorough and so, so kind (it's really beyond kind - his bedside manner is unparalleled). He seemed absolutely happy to be there on a Sunday morning to care for our son. This is just one example of the many times we have had our decision to join this practice reaffirmed. I will say, in the interest of being completely transparent, when my son was a newborn we once had a nurse who was really struggling to take blood from my son for one of the routine newborn tests. It was very unsettling to witness as a first time parent (I'm a worry wart at heart but I try to be the cool, chill mom in public), she pricked him multiple times and just couldn't get it. They brought a different nurse in who was able to collect the sample without a problem, and everyone was very apologetic about what happened. I'm sure these things can happen to anyone, but I don't think that nurse is there anymore as I've never seen her again in the many times we've been back. All of the other nurses we've ever seen have been very professional and have provided great care, this was clearly an anomaly. We visited and "interviewed" another popular Bethesda doctor selecting Metropolitan Pediatrics. I know we made the right decision, and we plan to be patients up until they have to kick our adult children out! read more

We just recently left this group which was not an easy decision. We liked the doctors and felt very good about the care they gave to our two children but on the organizational administrative end this place is awful. The office manager and reception staff are way below par. There were constant mix-ups with our insurance and billing for visits to the wrong child. The route of this all comes down to the office manager ultimately. The biggest issue was when they misinformed us that out insurance would cover the cost of a nebulizer for our child which would cost normally $60 at the pharmacy. We later found out that our insurance did not cover the cost and buying it through them cost over $100. When we brought this up with them, they constantly gave us the run around and we discovered they had some kind of deal to push these machines with the company that distributes them. When we tried to deal directly with the office manager about this issue, they pawned us off on the customer service for the nebulizer company! The tipping point came when the next week we were billed an extra $200 for a new annual administrative fee that they decided they deserved. It is a real shame that the doctors here have all proven to be really great but the face of the business is so disorganized. We've had to repeatedly deal with the submission of one of our daughters visits that they keep submitting under our other daughter's plan despite being told over and over again that they are making the same mistake every time. We wanted to let the doctors know directly how we felt but the only way to get a message to them is through the office manager so we just had to leave without an explanation. I hope they figure it out before they lose any more patients. read more

I was referred to this practice by a friend of mine, I love the doctors but the Office Management it's horrible!!! I received a bill for items my insurance did not cover, I called and paid it. A few days later I received another bill for another amount from more than a year ago that they just decided I shoul pay and I was no even aware I owed! I called once to cancel an appointment and then got a charge for No Show, when I called and disputed the charge, Jodie (in the admin Office) was rude and insinuating I was lying! They charged me a $100 annual fee for admin fees and on top of that they charged me $15 fir filling out school forms????! For those who do not have this problem yet, wait til your kids are in school age. The Doctors are fantastic, I have no a single complain about them, but I hope they know their admin staff is really a dissapointment! read more

The care is good but we were disappointed to learn they now charge an annual per child fee. They claim it is because otherwise they'd have to charge for phone calls, vaccine records, letters, etc. This fee is not covered by insurance, and can be a burden to families on top of all their other health care costs. read more

We have been seeing Dr. Silvestro at this practice since our son was born 9 months ago and have had the best experience. For us, Dr. Steve's philosophy aligned well with ours and we feel very comfortable talking with him about non-traditional options and that he will give us the best guidance and care based on the baby's needs as well as our wishes. We also love the tech, John, who does all the vaccinations and blood draws. Dr. Kulp saw us for the very first appointment and we had a great experience with him as well. Appointments run around 15 minutes behind (just like everywhere else) unless you go in first thing in the morning. We have not had the same experience with the office administration as another reviewer, although I agree that they can be a bit disorganized at times. Overall we are really happy to have chosen Metro Peds for our son and will be happy to stay with them throughout his childhood. read more

My daughter has been a patient at this practice since she was born 10 months ago. First and foremost, the doctors are fantastic. We see Dr. Silvestro normally, but have seen Dr. Kulp and Dr. Sguigna also and they are great as well. Dr. Silvestro's philosophy is aligned with ours (more natural, less medical unless needed) so we constantly feel like we are on the same page. The care she receives is always thorough, and more than anything everyone in this office seems to actually care about us and our child. Their care after hours is also commendable, as we have never had to wait for a call back more than 10 or 15 minutes. I rarely give 5 stars, but these guys I feel are perfect for us and I personally would not change anything about our experiences thus far with them. Unlike the previous reviewer, we have also only had positive experiences with the office staff, although I can understand how her experience was frustrating. read more

We have been patients at Metropolitan Pediatrics for several years now. The doctors are superb. We have seen Dr. Kulp, Dr. Silvestro and Dr. Marquis multiple times and they are top notch, both personally and professionally. We have only spoken with Dr. Siguinia on the phone when she was on call and she was lovely and helpful as well. The doctors are thorough, make sure to ask about every single aspect of a child's development, are patient when the baby is squirmy with all the checks and tools, and overall just have a great bedside manner which is so important with little ones. Stephanie at the reception desk is wonderful. The medical assistant John is a life saver when it comes to immunizations. I always ask for him by name since he makes the dreaded vaccine shots tolerable. We have called during late hours plenty of times with all sorts of questions and concerns. Each call was returned promptly, sometimes even within a minute! Each question was answered thoroughly and I never felt rushed or stupid for asking a dumb question or not knowing something. It was very cold in the office for our first newborn visit and employee complained about us not stripping newborn down to diaper while we waited for doctor. On second visit, very cold outside and construction all over delayed us. We were 14 minutes late and employee told us we were too late and needed to come back another time. Switched pediatricians instead. read more

Absolutely the most incredible Pediatric Group around! I switched my 4 yo and 3yo a year ago before delivery my now 8 month old as I felt the group of 11 physicians we were seeing was extremely impersonal. Metropolitan Pediatrics has the 4 absolute best, most caring Dr's who go above and beyond to take the best care of our children (after hours as well). The nurses are amazing and we never have to wait too long to be seen. They truly are special and we feel so blessed to have joined their practice. read more

I just stumbled upon these reviews online and am shocked that anyone would rate this office less than five stars. During the past five years, I've never had an issue with the front desk - everyone has been extremely helpful and quick to find a nurse when I have a health question/concern. As for the doctors - amazing! Dr. Kulp may be the most caring man and he just has an amazing way with babies and kids. My five-year old actually thinks MD visits are fun because of these talented doctors. I've seen all the doctors at this point and find them all to be knowledgeable, kind, calm, and helpful. I love going to this office and being seen by Dr. Hassani. She is nice, knowledgeable, gentle, and friendly. She takes her time to explain and address all the questions I have before she does anything. I recommended her to all my coworkers and they are happy as well. read more

We love Dr. Kulp and Dr. Silvestro. Always attentive, thorough, and enthusiastic about their work. Nurse J always is great giving shots quickly and cheerfully. Once we had a weekend emergency when our three year old had a large cut on his forehead; the doctor met with us at his home, then decided we needed to glue it up to avoid a nasty scar, so he opened the office and took care of the injury immediately. We were beyond appreciative of this concern for our son. We also have found the administrative staff to be pleasant and effective. read more

I can't remember her name but the billing manager is extremely helpful and compassionate. I was having insurance problems with my daughter (6 months old). They were denying claims and she went above and beyond to help resolve the issue. If it weren't for her, I would have been responsible for hundreds of dollars. Excellent customer service! read more

Have had a good experience with the primary physician. We had some mixed experience with the doctor on call on the evenings/weekends, but that is probably not uncommon. As was mentioned by others, the front desk comes across as unfriendly and unhelpful. They are the biggest downer - process and rule oriented, but that apparently doesn't prevent mistakes from happening. I'd wholeheartedly recommend them if they could correct that. read more

This is our pediatrician and we love all the doctors and have never had a problem with billing. We find all the staff very efficient and responsive. I can't speak to the disappointed reviewer's experience but it definitely does not match our experience. read more
