I walked in on a rainy Sunday, and while it was open, there was no one at the desk. I suspected that the practice is small so they would not have a receptionist on stand-by. I came back the next day and happened to meet one of the massage therapists, Harmony. She did not have any last-minute appointments available (I was only in town for a short stay), but she said someone would coordinate and call me back. She was warm and polite and gave me a business card with a number on it to call. I left a message that evening, and the next day a woman named Mary called me back. She asked what I was looking for and told me that she had two appointments available for the following day with Alicia. It sounded like a good fit for the type of massage I wanted. On the day of my appointment, I showed up a little early to get paperwork and introductions out of the way. Alicia was kind and warm and had a great energy about her. She listened thoroughly prior to the treatment. During, she checked in with me to see how I was feeling, if the pressure was too much/too little. She was very accommodating, and the massage was excellent. Her technique was amazing, and she seemed to be able to adjust readily. I asked for strong pressure, and she did a great job. I left feeling rejuvenated and in high spirits. The prices were on par with what I am used to in the States, and the service was excellent. I would come back again on my next trip, although I would probably schedule in advance so that I could get an appointment with Alicia.

She worked on it with a combination of hot stones, her hands and other tools - tuning forks, different bells that are new to me - and for the first time in ages it is pain free and I have full range of motion back. If you're used to "traditional" Swedish or other massages, some of what Roxanne does will be unfamiliar and seem a bit strange. If you can trust that she knows what she's doing (which she does) and experience it, at the very least you will have tried something new but likely, you will feel the benefit. If you don't want those things however - just tell her! She listens well and constantly seeks education on new techniques and healing massage therapy approaches. She also checks in throughput the session to make sure the pressure and other aspects are comfortable and acceptable. Besides that she is kind and generous with her time and knowledge. As a person who sometimes forgets to look after myself, it just takes a session with Janet to remember how important it is to relax and feel peaceful. Whether a deep tissue massage or something lighter...Janet knows her stuff. She is so capable and professional. I walk out of her office feeling restored and rejuvenated, and I know my face, neck and shoulders look totally relaxed. The therapy session room is very calm and welcoming, lovely music and capable, knowledgable hands await. Best of all, by the end of a massage, Janet knows more about what's going on with my muscles, tendons and all the rest than I do...and I go away more aware of what I can do to keep my body and mind in better shape.
