This is a place that rents lots of things - party items, DJ stuff, games, etc. But also rents equipment for yard work. Chain saws, wood chippers - lots O stuff. Its close to me, so its easy to use. I rented a lawn aerator from Leiser's in 2007, as a first step toward getting our lawn in shape for the summer. I chose Leiser's because it's very close and seemed like a nice local businesses with some character, which is harder to find than it used to be. I picked up on Saturday afternoon. We had company at the house, so I didn't have a chance to use it until Sunday. When I turned on the aerator, I noticed an oil leak from a bolt on the engine. I didn't want to risk damage to the machine by tinkering or using it anyway, so I thought I'd just return it. I knew I couldn't return it on Sunday as Leiser's was closed, and my next few weekends would be very busy, so I thought I'd just call it a wash for this time, and use the store credit to rent something else later in the spring. When I brought it in and asked about the store credit, the gentleman at the front desk told me that I could only receive credit for the same machine, and only if I rented it within 30 days. I explained that the next few weeks would be busy with travel, and by the time I'd have a chance to aerate it would be too late. He said that "That's the risk you take by renting on a Sunday or holiday." That wasn't explained at the time of pickup. He asked who helped me at pickup. Unfortunately did not remember. I'm often frustrated by this question, because to me these situations aren't about what was done wrong then, but what can be done right now. The rental agreement said "Notify Leiser's immediately if equipment does not function properly." I did this at 8 a.m. Monday morning. The agreement also said "No cash refunds. Store credit only." This sounded reasonable enough, and led me to believe that I'd put this project behind me and use the credit later that summer. Not even the small print on the back of the agreement mentioned a 30 day limit on refunds. I explained to the gentleman that the 30 day credit would not be of any use to me. He stood there silently and had no further interaction with me aside from handing me the credit, which I handed back. Frankly, I've received better and more understanding help when renting from large chains, so this was a surprise to me. Despite the unfortunate trouble with the engine, I was looking forward to using Leiser's rentals for what would have been many years of home improvements, but this was a bad enough first experience to look elsewhere. I wouldn't have remembered this all... I just stumbled across the info above, which was meant to be a letter that I decided not to bother sending. Judging by some of the other reviews from customers who had trouble with their equipment and tried to follow up, I think it's better used here to echo their frustration. read more

I can't say enough positive things about Leslie, the party planner EXPERT at Leisers. From my initial frantic call a week prior to my wedding, I was treated kindly and given helpful advice. Leslie is patient, honest, direct, helpful, no nonsense and very professional. She loves her job and it shows!!! Every staff person I interacted with was friendly including delivery guys and miss cleaner. Never once was i treated like a clueless bridezilla! The worst business ever! Stay away! First, they don't care about the customers and the equipment you rent, just like to charge you money for problems you have with the equipment. They delivered a bobcat to the job site with a flat tire. When I called, they told me I had to pay $100 for them to repair the tire. I had to spend $35 to rent a compressor from homedepot to fix the problem. Secondly, be very careful when you make a reservation. First time I made a reservation for a dump truck for the next day, they told me they were not sure if they could get the truck back the next day, but I reserved it anyway. Next day by noon I had to cancel the order due to the delay of the job, they still charged me even though I didn't even pick up the truck. So I reschedule the reservation for the next Monday. I ended up having to reschedule another time when Monday comes, but they told me they'd charge me full day's rent even though they cancelled my order. Don't go to Leiser's!!! Unless you like the challenge of running into problems with their equipment and love spending some extra money to fix the problem. You should probably talk to your employees at the loading dock. They informed my husband that they use duck tape to patch holes. We used duck tape to reinforce your duck tape inside the moon bounce. We used a bungee cord where the holes are for the air because your strap was broken ( shocking that something else was wrong with this gem)!!!! You can say what you want, but your product was junk and I am allowed to say so after paying a fortune for a three day rental!! Great place with great people. I rented tables from Leiser's for a yard sale from them. Everyone there was super helpful. While there, I even won 6 tickets to hear Van Morrison, Willie Nelson and Sheryl Crow! What is not to like about Leisers? Great prices, too. Ya gotta visit these fun and professional people. Though I can't guarantee that you will win free concert tickets, too, you will not regret stopping by. Leiser's has things you will love to rent... things you haven't even thought of yet! I rented a Darth Vader costume last night for a concert, and since it was in a box I didn't open it until I was at school. Upon opening it I saw the mask had a big hole and crack down the back. It had glue remnants and duck tape, so it clearly was cracked before with a repair attempt. I called Leisers so they would know I received it in poor condition and they said they would make a note of it on my contract. When my husband returned it and pointed out the poor condition, the employee simply noted that yes it was indeed cracked. No offer of a refund or discount. We have rented from Leiser's before and did not have a problem, but in my opinion, good customer service, especially to returning customers would have been to either refund the rental or credit us with a future rental, or maybe even a simple apology would have helped as well. I would definitely recommend inspecting all rentals before leaving the store. read more

Do not go to this place! The service is terrible and the equipment is substandard. We rented some tables, tablecloths and chairs for our event. The table tops were dirty and had not been cleaned. Moreover, the tables had a lot of colored tissue paper, scotch tape and masking tape still attached to the legs. When we asked for cleaner tables, we were told that there were none available. They did not remove the tissue paper from the table legs, as we asked them to do. The owner was very uncooperative when we asked for a discount due to the inferior condition of the tables. He also had an anger management problem dealing with me and my husband. We would never use this business again. read more

Don't go to this place! My husband and I rented some party tables and chairs. When we went to the loading dock for pickup, we noticed that the tables were dirty and had deep stains; also, tissue paper was still taped to mostly all of the legs. We asked if we could get cleaner equipment, but we were told that there was none available. It was obvious that the tables had not been cleaned. Once we set them up at home, the stains were so dark that they were still visible after we put the rented tablecloths on them. Upon returning the tables, my husband tried to negotiate a lower rate with the owner because of the unhygienic, filthy condition of the rental equipment.
