We arrived on a Friday night around 8:30 PM and were immediately greeted and seated. There were some patrons at the bar, and a couple of tables and booths were occupied. We ordered drinks and appetizers right away. V ordered the Basement Old Fashion and I ordered a Chocolate Martini. The drinks arrived first, and V made a face when he tasted his drink, the funny thing is, his comment was that it was all alcohol, the exact opposite of his typical drink review. I tasted his, but I'm not really a bourbon person, so I didn't care for it. My chocolate martini was ok, nothing special, but I've never had a chocolate martini I didn't like, so it was safe. We ordered Steak Bites (well done) and Capese Bruschetta appetizers. They arrived soon after the drinks. We started with the Bruschetta, which is a good-sized serving, six pieces piled high with cheese, tomatoes, more cheese (I'd swear), basil, and topped with a splash of balsamic vinegar. It was very tasty, and we cleaned the plate. Next, we tried the Steak Bites, I wasn't sure what to expect, but the steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection, the portabella mushrooms, roasted peppers, spring mix, and ranch were paired to make my mouth water for more. Both appetizers were quite good, but the steak bites were exceptional. As we were eating the appetizers, our waitress asked if we wanted anything else as the kitchen closes at 9pm (she thinks?). I was surprised by this as they're open until 10pm Fridays. At any rate, we ordered the baked Salmon entree for V and the Shrimp Po-boy sandwich for me. The salmon was offered with a couple of different toppings, V selected the lobster topping, basically it was smothered in a lobster sauce, and it tasted quite good. He mentioned how good the vegetables of the day were several times, so they must have been very good. He said his garlic mashed potatoes were fine, I tasted them and they were dry. That was the only true negative, they just needed a little more milk, or butter when they were made. I selected the Shrimp Po-boy, which came with fries. The fried Shrimp, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Pickle, and Remoulade Sauce on French Bread was really an awesome tasty combination. The pickle pulled it all together for me. The fries were flavorful and really hit the spot along with the sandwich. For desert, V ordered Carrot Cake. The waitress was on her game, and brought two forks :) The cake it's self was most and flavorful, the iciing was yummy. On the side they included thinly sliced strawberries with whip cream. The waitress was good, she was timely, friendly, and followed up after each course. In summary, presentation, food quality and quantity, as well as service were all top notch. They refused to tell me and got their phones out to record. But completely neglected to video in the beginning when their behavior and lack of service skills instigated and antagonized the situation. With in minutes, as me and my husband were exiting the building while still getting yelled at a police officer shows up. He was in the next parking lot over and responded with in a just a couple minutes. Which I appreciate and love about our police force. We go outside and I explain what happened. He was very polite and absolutely knew we were not intoxicated in the slightest. He had us wait outside and went in for a moment to talk to the wait and bar staff. He returned appropriately two mins later. He said he could visibly see how much more aggressive they were being in this situation. He even stated he didn't think the server was a manager either. She wasnt telling the truth I'm assuming because she didn't want her actual manager to get word of her actions and the fact she was denying service to two customers for no reason. We joked and laughed with the officer outside about negative customer service for a few minutes and we were on our way. It's truly a shame I'm a loving member of the community. I'm involved in many volunteer projects and community functions in our town. I'm very proud to be apart of such a wonderful community. My children have grown up here and I truly love living here. Many of my close family and friend go to events and hang out at this location regularly. We also pop in there at least once or twice a month and have never seen those servers before and have had great visits otherwise. Now we r all contemplating never going back. Also, For the record the servers had no grounds and the one wasn't a real manager so they couldn't trespass us from the location. Such a bummer two belligerent people ruined a once enjoyable place for us. I will continue to post my review in other forums and platforms. I also have filed a formal complaint with the franchises home office. The servers in this instance clearly have poor customer service skills and desperately need retraining or to possibly re think their career path if they can't control themselves properly.
