Probably one of the best tacos and cocktails I've ever had! This place is a true gem in the Mile End. It's small and cozy, fits about 60, with a small terrace in the front. We were greeted by the barman as we entered, who seated us and explained their cocktails and the menu. He was very friendly. I normally don't go for cocktails cause I feel that it's all ice and juice, but these were incredible! I had the Mexito, which I highly recommend and it's not too sweet and my friends had the Berry Nice and Peach Plz which they equally loved. We started with their variety plate that included their famous guacamole (it's famous for a reason), quesadillas, bacon wrapped jalapeno peppers and stuffed croquettes (my personal favorite). We then tried the tacos! Omg their tacos! We had beer battered fish tacos (they've won best Montreal tacos in the past), Jack Daniels marinated beef tacos (my favorite), chicken and pineapple tacos and their homemade chorizo tacos. We wanted dessert, but didn't have room, so we'll just have to come back. I got to meet the chef/owner. He was very kind and we got to hear his story. Born and raised in Mexico city, he brings authenticity, fresh ingredients in his kitchen and you taste it in every bite. We came here only for drinks. It was a cute little Mexican bar/restaurant in the city of Montreal. The service was good and the drinks were good also. I got a Paloma and my colleague got a Mezcal tester which came with 3 different shots. I can't remember the names of them all but one of them was casamigos. Made reservations and sat a good 50 mins before we realized our neighbours got their food . Had to finally wave down the young waitress who finally checked telling us our order had not gone through . I realize that gone are the days of attentive service in many places but this was one of the worse in montreal. We may have been lucky bc food did not look very appetizing and we left. Also BEWARE they no longer have a liquor license so only Mocktails are served . In a city with so many better choices Will def never return . read more

Will not return to this place because of our experience. We were really excited to try this place and what better way then at cinco de Mayo. Waitress was nice in the beginning, we ordered drinks, and food. We got our food before our drinks, the food is very average, it's not authentic at all, I got the fish tacos and there was no flavour honestly. My friend didn't like her drink and wanted to see if she could change it and that's when our experience went to shit. She asked the waitress if she could get another drink because there's was too many raspberry seeds in her drinks and she didn't like that. She was very nice about it. The waitress then went to the bar and spoke to another girl and come back to us saying that no there's no possible way to change the drink and that she was obliged to drink it, we were in shock with her response and asked to speak to a manager or owner and her response was that we don't want to speak to the manager because he's going to get mad. We were just in disbelief of the way we were getting treated as a paying customer. Then the girl at the bar comes up to us and finally changes my friends drink. Because of the situation we still wanted to speak to the owner, which we did, we explained the situation and instead of being understandable he was being so defensive, saying that when he's in the kitchen making the food he doesn't want to be bothered by customers complaints. We were in shock of this statement. When my friend proceeded to say that she will never come back here or even suggest this place to anyone in her entourage, the owner changed his tone and said quote "I will not charge you for the drink this time". After that we were never asked if we wanted something else or if we wanted another drink or something. We were about to ask for the bill when the waitress came to us and said quote "I don't know if anyone told you guys, but you need to leave". We were in such a shock that we were getting treated this way for simple not liking a drink. We gladly left this place because it seemed we weren't wanted. I will never come back here The way they will treat you is a disgrace. They do not care about there customers. It seemed like they only cared about there's regulars. New Restaurant Alert! 4.5 stars The boyfriend and I were looking for a place to eat thursday night and we came across this hidden cove on yelp. Good but few ratings, enough pictures to interest us, 5 minutes from my house and a supposed 4.95$ food menu; we were sold! Watch out because the sign is barely notieable. We walked by twice before realizing it was right under our noses. I'd say this is something that could be improved, but I did take a picture of the entrance anyway. The decor actually reminds me of a sushi buffet. It's super funky and mordern with a woodsy twist (Woodland creature on their water bottles). It's also very clean. They don't have AC and so it does feel a bit stuffy on a warm summer night (also the reason I knocked down a half star) Staff was great, super knowledgeable about their product and friendly. We ordered the Tacos Dorados with chicken (the chicken was a bit dry but I think that's how it is supposed to be), the chorizo sliders, and the quesitos. Everything was delcious! I especially liked the quesitos which were cheese sticks with bacon and jalapeno mayo (not spicy at all!) Very satisfied with my visit and will definitely be back. read more

Not that sure how to quote this place, first we did not made a reservation and were propose inside or outside , thus my GF wanted to be inside , I had agreed , but the restaurant do not have air conditioning, since the cost of an unit is not tremendously expensive for such a small place. A good investment will be to get one.. we were offered a place with stool and High table , when we did leave an hour after , every body who did come to eat were outside leaving banquette and table empty (3 tables occupied inside ???) We were questioning ourselves why we did not been offered the choice , since we though that without a reservation the place would be full ??? Drinks are decent, portion of the food is just too small, I understand this is tapas... but ... I might thinks that out of three plate ordered two of them were too much cooked giving me the impression that they were rewarmed / cooked , with a burned tasted. What a gem this place is! Such fine quality food, unique flavours and happy hour cocktails are to die for! oh and the service was fantastic!

Visiting from Vancouver, we had no idea about where to eat. Staying in the Airbnb right next door, we accidentally stumbled upon this place and never have I ever been so happy to eat Mexican food in Canada. This was by FAR the BEST Mexican, and possibly the best meal I have ever had!!! Literally the first bite to the last was incredibly flavourful and had us all wanting more. The service was some of the best I've had and I can't wait to come back to Montreal so that I can eat here! Thank you Mezcaleros for an amazing last night! We will be back! read more

Great new inexpensive spot with a terrasse On Parc for a drink and tasty Mexican snacks. They currently have a promotion of $1 oysters on Sundays if you get a cocktail (El Pepino is refreshing). Service was very accommodating and friendly! read more

*Update: THERE WAS A RAT IN THE BATHROOM! and the bartender told us to go away if we were not patient to wait for them* Do not come here on a Friday evening, there is not enough staff for all the people that come in. It took them one hour to get us our drinks and they had to "double check" our order! We had to call our waitress twice and remind her that we still haven't gotten our food. We order 5 shots to start and they arrived way later than the first entree. They really need to hire more people and improve a lot their service. Coming here felt like a waste of time, didn't enjoy my experience here at all. Not worth it!!! read more
