My whole table was like, uhhhhh.... really? I'm like, yeah really. My eggplant parmegiana tastes like it's missing... PARMESAN! The food took ages to come out... like ages and ages and THEN when it did come out, they forgot my friend's gnocchi and she was sitting there even longer with no food while everyone else was chowing down. Then to add insult to injury, when she gets her gnocchi and is almost finished, the waiter comes by and is like "are you finished?"... and she's a nice, agreeable type of person and she says yes and lets him take it away, but really she wasn't finished, HE RUSHED HER. Dude, if someone has a fork in their hand and food on the plate, THEY ARE NOT FINISHED! Don't ask people if they're finished! Just leave them alone! So yeah, nothing totally awful, but definitely wasn't exceptional in any way. I don't think they deal with larger groups well.

I decided to opt out the vegetables as the burger might be bloated and the main taste might not be there. With an additional $5, you could choose a drink and a side dish: chips, sweet potato chips or coleslaw. I am a fan of sweet potato chips and hence I ordered that with Kirk's creamy soda. Next time round I'll probably give the cheesy bacon chips and one of the shakes. Servers are friendly and food arrived within 5 minutes. The burger's buns are crispy and well-cooked. The ingredients are also well-cooked and flavorful. The sauce... Just beyond words. It just makes you wanting to eat more of those. But it did well, and the young owner was told that an evening wine bar would also do well, so now it does that as well. And it does both well. It's a small space, with a street-facing counter for a quick coffee, a few tables, and a semi-private booth in front; a long corridor past the kitchen and storerooms; and then a small funky courtyard in back. I've been for breakfast and found it fun and tasty. My salsa eggs, with spicy diced tomato-y bits and salty halloumi, were a fine breakfast. I've been for drinks and found it very relaxed, and with a big and interesting list of wines (by glass and bottle), beers (imported bottles), and cocktails (2 for 1 Hendricks gin sours? sure!). Shared with some warm spiced olives, and you've got yourself a very happy hour.
