I was hired on the spot, with no working interview. I was told I'm a good fit for the team. First day I walked in Nancy was not friendly (talking about the children names parents and other co workers ) I did not feel welcomed. by the ladies, not one positive comment about the work place. Sterilization area Was a nightmare (eating in that area) Instruments was not properly sanitized!!!!?!!! I was excited to learn and grow, the second day showed me everything I needed to know. Not one good comment about the new manager... All I could hear was drama about the second Location. I was not getting the proper training, because of the drama that's at hand, Sandra was on her phone the whole time, I couldn't ask questions she seem distracted, Chardae and another coworker was saying Negative things about me. Also why do I need to know about a previous coworker (breezy) the location is filled with mess and drama!!! This place is not what I expected. I was even told that the owner is crazy and not nice, I will be picked on by her. I was terrified to even meet her. This is not what you expect starting a new job. I did not feel welcomed at all. Ladies do better for the upcoming employees!!!!!! Run do not trust them with your children!!!! This is not the type of women. I would want servicing my child , Thank God I dodged this toxic messy work place!!

From the…read moreprofessionals at the reception desk to the hygienist, X-Ray techs, dentists, and support staff who take care of you, the treatment you'll receive is always friendly and efficient. At the beginning of COVID, I developed an excruciating tooth pain. MINT was closed so I had to seek other options. I went to 3 different professionals who all said my tooth was cracked and had to be pulled. Not willing to accept that, I tried MINT again. Hallelujah! They were open again. AND- I only needed a root canal. I cannot praise Dr. Reid (who gave me hope) and Dr. Sonia Smith (who performed my root canal) enough for saving my tooth and restoring my trust in dentists. Other professionals who have provided exceptional services include Julia, Dawn, Dez, and Dr. Chen. I recommend MINT to everyone I can. Making teeth sexy and free sunglasses are just some of the major perks here.

There haven't been any drastic changes in her health from her last regular visit to Mint and six months later, she requires an extensive amount of dental work. It doesn't make any sense. She had a deep cleaning maybe 12-18 months ago from another shady dentist, Mint did another one, although there hadn't been a diagnosis of any gum disease. I was greeted by very professional ladies at the front desk and my wait time was very little to no wait. This had a lot to do with me doing all my paperwork online before coming in. Along with free teeth whitening with custom trays made just for me. Overall it was an great experience and I would definitely come back....

I had a disappointing experience at Mint Dentistry recently for the second time. While the facility…read moreitself was modern and welcoming, the interaction with the dental hygienist left much to be desired in the realm of customer service. It seems that they could benefit from having better-trained dental hygienists who understand the importance of maintaining professionalism and respecting patients' boundaries. Nobody wants to be lectured about their dental hygiene habits as an adult, especially when visiting the dentist for routine cleanings. If my dental hygiene was an issue I would not be able to get orthodontics which I'm currently wearing and have two months left so of course the end of that presents normal issues as your teeth are closer together I'm double wired and wearing rubber bands 24/7. But constant questioning and unsolicited opinions about flossing and brushing and then to ask me "has your orthodontist shown you how to floss" felt extremely intrusive and unnecessary. Again, if my teeth were in pristine good condition, I wouldn't be there for regular cleanings every six months. There's certainly a better way to offer guidance and support to patients without coming across as judgmental or offensive. As it's the second time I've experienced this behavior from the same hygienist. It's clear that Mint Dentistry needs to address this issue to ensure a more positive and respectful experience for all patients. Unfortunately, I won't be returning after this experience.

During our first visit I was able to sit with her in the treatment room during her cleaning, without asking. On our second visit for scheduled fillings we checked in and the tech told me to go sit in the siting room. When I asked to remain with her during treatment. He questioned why I felt the need to stay with her. This was not an appropriate response. I had to escalate. Which they allowed me to sit with her. But I should not be made to feel like I have to justify my reason for wanting to sit in with my daughter during her treatment. On the third visit for further fillings, we checked in and when she was called, the tech again said "she is fine to come alone, you can wait in the waiting room". What gives the tech the authority to decide my child can proceed by herself? This is not how parents should be approached. She could have asked if I was okay with her receiving the treatment alone without my presence. If parents are not going to be allowed to be present this needs to be explained at check in and before consent of treatment. Children are not allowed to seek medical and dental treatment alone. So why should I not be allowed to be present during her treatment?

They ordered my child a spacer which they stated would be covered at 100% by my insurance. When it came back they started it was $400..huge difference. I never called to say it was going to cost until they were ready to put it in. I didn't allow it. They are saying I have to pay for something that my child didn't use or he cant receive service. My child has been going to this dentist for SEVEN YES 7 years and I've never not paid for services. Now they want me to pay $400 for something they said was covered and I did not receive. Absolutely ridiculous. I asked to speak with Dr. Barefield and I was told no and that was the final answer by Jessica So basically they dont give a dang about customer service or loyalty.

Lisa quickly verified my health insurance and the hygienist was great at her job. Dr. Penn was friendly and really makes you feel at ease. That was almost 8 years ago! I absolutely love everything about Dr. Penn's office. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel at home. The majority of Dr. Penn's staff are longtime employees and obviously they are the glue that holds everything together. I always request Paula when scheduling my visits but on the few occasions that she has been out of the office, the other hygienists have been great too. My teenager outgrew his pediatric dentist and has been seeing Dr. Penn for a few years as well. If Dr. Penn is not on your dental insurance plan please call their office as out of pocket expenses are very reasonable and well worth it. This is not a fancy dental office with flat screen TVs. My husband's childhood dentist was just shy of a barbarian, hence my husband's dislike of dentists in general with Dr Penn as the lone exclusion.
