I wish MINT had been around years ago because now I don't dread going to the dentist. From the professionals at the reception desk to the hygienist, X-Ray techs, dentists, and support staff who take care of you, the treatment you'll receive is always friendly and efficient. At the beginning of COVID, I developed an excruciating tooth pain. MINT was closed so I had to seek other options. I went to 3 different professionals who all said my tooth was cracked and had to be pulled. Not willing to accept that, I tried MINT again. Hallelujah! They were open again. AND- I only needed a root canal. I cannot praise Dr. Reid (who gave me hope) and Dr. Sonia Smith (who performed my root canal) enough for saving my tooth and restoring my trust in dentists. Other professionals who have provided exceptional services include Julia, Dawn, Dez, and Dr. Chen. I recommend MINT to everyone I can. There haven't been any drastic changes in her health from her last regular visit to Mint and six months later, she requires an extensive amount of dental work. It doesn't make any sense. She had a deep cleaning maybe 12-18 months ago from another shady dentist, Mint did another one, although there hadn't been a diagnosis of any gum disease. Mint Dentistry-Cedar Hill.....They used my family's entire annual insurance allowance and still wanted $1,300 out of pocket for a crown, after already billing my insurance $1,173. Solar Dental quoted me only $250 for the same procedure with the same insurance. I requested to speak with a supervisor about a billing issue over a month ago and never received a call back not the billing documents I requested. I decided to try again today and I spoke with the office manager, Daisy R., but the tone of the conversation was transactional at best and lacked any concern for my concerns as a customer. Keep in mind that my insurance has already been billed for a servicethat has not yet been completed. This will prevent me from using another provider for the service they have already booked for. Apparently, this is a standard practice. I've since requested to have the charge reversed so that I can go somewhere else to replace the temporary crown to a permanent one. I will say that some of the staff is great, but management could care less about your issues. They pretend to give you a discount on a service that is already marked up as if they have helped you. Managers seem to care only about making numbers rather than truly helping patients with economically smart choices based on their billing practices. I was very disappointed with the service I received from the dentist at the Cedar Hill,TX location. While the hygienist was very professional and informative about what she was doing while the doctor on duty was not. She talked behind my back with the hygienist but never fully explained what she was recommending for my teeth health to me or if there were options to the recommendation. Now I have to go and get a second opinion because I don't agree with her on paper recommendations. Perhaps if a more concise explanation of what needed to be done and why, a second opinion would not be necessary. I have been to Mint Dentistry about 4 times in the last 2 years. My 1st visit was wonderful however my last visit was the absolute worst! My appointment was on a Friday afternoon an after a long wait in the lobby I decided to reschedule for later in the week in the a.m. I was told by the office assistant, that was a much better time. NOPE, even worse! My appointment was at 11am. I sat in the lobby about 8 minutes or so an was called back. X-rays were taken an the dentist came an reviews that they were good. Then, the hygienist was MIA for the LONGEST! After waiting in the chair for 30 minutes or so, I finally went to the front to see when I would get my teeth cleaned!? She said all the hygienist were busy. I told her I would wait 10 more minutes. My appointment was at 11am an at 12:10pm my teeth were still not cleaned! I stormed out letting the staff know this was ridiculous!! The 2 point massage chair, sexy chic lobby decor, Netflix/Pandora selections, an free minty lipchap are the only thing getting ANY stars here! I was so disappointed that when I would hear the commercial for Mint in K104 it made me Cringe and feel like it was all lies, however after all this time I decided to give them a 2nd chance. I'm a person who believes people change, so why not businesses they are ran by people right. I'm glad I gave them a 2nd chance, the ladies were still super nice and provide great customer service as they did the last time I came but what really made the difference is the dentist that worked on me truly listened and explained everything. I visited the Cedar Hill location today and was very displeased. I had previously visited the Carrollton location and everything was a breeze. This process started out simple enough but I ended up waiting for over an hour. While I do understand that it is a back to school rush and was prepared to wait a bit longer, I was not prepared to be there for over an hour without even being seen. Nor was I prepared for people who came in 30 minutes to an hour after me, to be taken back before I did. I ended up leaving and rescheduling for an early morning appointment next week. I have been a going to this dentist for over 6yrs now, and I must say their level of customer service has declined tremendously. They do not have the same level of customer care as they did when my family and started going and entrusting our oral care with them. They are deceitful and tell you one thing verbally about your oral health and then turn around and write something different on your treatment plan, to keep you going back for more money. I have been a Mint patient for years, I've been to the Fort Worth, Grapvine, Arlington and Cedar Hill location. Dr.Smith is great she's patient, knowledgably, respectful, informative, and caring. That's what brought me to the Cedar Hill location following Dr. Smith. Let's begin with my visit on 1/29/2021 at approximately 2:30 pm. My husband and I was greeted by the front office staff they was very professional (Cedar Hill location) My husband had a appointment at 11:00am with Dr.Smith and then I was seen at 2:30pm. Continuing everything was good until the exam was conducted and assistant Delores got involved she was very rude, pointing her fingers towards my face, talking very loudly and aggressive. First she told us my husband had to get one side of his mouth done(cleaning) because it was a week waiting period due to the insurance, well that was wrong and Doctor Smith and I caught that. Then she told me in order to get my extraction I had to pay the entire amount out of pocket because my insurance didn't cover it.(Which i did pay) until further notice. So I called my insurance which is High in Federal insurance Geha the rep stated that they did cover it etc. Any who I asked to speak to the manager which was Annabelle. However I explained the situation to her and how I was treated. OH!!! not to mention Delores was so rude to me Dr.Smith had to leave my husband room, which was right next to mines to see what was going on. She stated Whoa" what is going on here? Moving forward Annabelle(spell check)who is the office manager did apologize for Delores behavior and inaccurate information. But did not seem concerned and when it was time to pay she told me she would bring me paper work to sign and pay. However at the end of the visit I requested to see Annabelle for payment she basically refused and let the front desk clerk assist me! Annabelle and Delores please be mindful you are the face of Mint please do better! This will be going to the higher ups! Christen (dental hygienist) you did a great job and very professional. Was sent to the Cedar Hill location from the Waxahachie office because my daughter needed the nitrous oxide and they can't use it at the Waxahachie office. We were scheduled for a 8:30 appointment and at 9:30 they come and tell us that we are gonna have to wait longer because someone is currently using the gas. The office lady states we can continue to wait or come back later. I explained that we had both already taken off work for the allotted time and couldn't come back later. Now at an hour and a half later we still haven't been seen. This place provides no where near the customer service that the other locations do. It's not the first time they have made me uncomfortable with a passive aggressive approach to get me to do services I either didn't want or couldn't afford. I had injured my tooth at work the day before and was terrified it was going to fall out they had a spot open next day 11AM. I was there waiting for an hour and a half with out seeing anyone! I have a life to get back to, a job to take care of. I respect their time so I show up 10-15 mins early I expect to be treated the same. I don't expect them to see me early so a 10-15 minute wait is average but an 1.5 hour is unacceptable. There was another lady waiting there for about 2 hours before me. I didn't even get to my appointment because the girl at the front desk refused to do her job. First off, they called me to reschedule three times. I guess they can't read a calendar? Second, the front desk girl didn't know how to read my insurance card. I had to tell her what was what. She also refused to call a number to verify that my insurance is active. Her job is to talk to my provider and sort that stuff out. I'm just a patient. She told me she wouldn't allow me to start my appointment until I called. So I called anyway, but couldn't get anywhere became I'm not the office with all the numbers and forms! I told the front desk girl, and she shrugged. She looked really confused when I said 'forget it' and left.
