First of all I'd like to say I am a person who does read reviews and I read the reviews for MGM countertops after I had visited the store.. my husband and I were concerned as there were several negative ones.. But after going to the MGM store we met with Ron and he was just the kind of salesman I like doing business with.. no pressure.. no bull...He showed me what he had and explained the pros and cons of all and told me what the price would be with my measurements .. he let me make up my mind what I wanted and answered all my questions. Ron made the whole experience easy with no stress at all. My husband and I were ready but on a very tight schedule with getting the job completed.. Ron was most accommodating and said he could get the job done within the time frame we needed it .. Ron said he would have Jorge come to measure and he also wanted us to go to their warehouse and see the actual quartz that they would be installing. This part my husband enjoyed as he saw how it is cut and prepared to be installed which was fascinating to him. Jorge drove to Carrabelle to measure and decided we could have a larger bar area which was great. within a few days the installers came and tore out the old granite and installed the quartz.. I was so surprised as have to admit I was nervous knowing they were working around new appliances that had just been delivered. They were fantastic and got job done in only a couple of hours.. they cleaned up nicely and were very polite and very hard working guys. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and these guys worked very hard to make my kitchen perfect for me. One of the installers name was Ryan and Im so sorry I don't remember his helpers name.. Attention seniors -- do not use this business. This company showed us a picture of the material that they were supposed to use. When they came to install the counter tops, the first thing they did was rip out the old counter tops. Then they brought in the countertop into the house, it was not what we ordered. I swear a 12 year old with a photograph could have seen that something was wrong. MGM just does not pay attention. It is just a case of fraud. If they had not ripped out our old kitchen, I would have refused the installation, my wife and I would have reconsidered the job completely. In fact, we did refuse completing the installation for a week to see if we could get the countertop we wanted. We went a week without a kitchen and then because of our schedules, we had to accept the counter top. They discounted the purchase, but now we have something we don't want -- The worse part is when they installed the sink, they used the wrong sink. White's plumbing came and evaluated the job, the disposal water exit is lower than the drain leaving the house. The plumber said that there is no way to plumb the job, unless we pay thousands to cut out the back of the cabinet, move the pipe behind the cabinets down, inside the wall. That is what mgm considers the 'right thing' rather than just buying another $450 sink and replacing it for us. They screwed up, did not measure to make sure they were using the correct sink and we are paying the price. When questioned why we are in this situation they said "We don't measure the sink." That's odd because the other 2 companies did measure the sink and tried to make sure that they would sell us the appropriate sink. MGM is completely CARELESS. Again, had they MEASURED the tolerances under sink they would have realized that we need a 7"deep sink. They refuse to do anything, saying instead that we should spend thousands to have a major construction done to make their sink work, rather than using the correct equipment. So we are stuck with a countertop we did not order, a disposal that cannot be reconnected. Now we have to by another sink and hire another contractor to finish the installation. Walked in today and as a potential customer had to initiate the greeting. The employees were munching away on their lunch and didn't even bother to get up. I was told there is no finance option. One guy asked after a good moment of waiting and being the only customers in the store if there was something he could help me with. I asked about the quartz and was basically shunned away pretty quickly. He had very little interest in helping us despite his delayed question. It was a dark dungeony atmosphere. 3/14/2017: Customer service. Master granite went the extra mile throughout the entire process from ordering my granite to receiving the final product. They even provided an A-frame jig to carry home the granite on my trailer! Of the eight pieces ordered, one large piece had notches cut in the wrong direction. They immediately cut and polished another and had it ready for pickup within a couple of hours! Amazing! I highly recommend Master Granite. Ask for Michelle! 2/25/2017: I renovated my entire Tallahassee house and was looking to purchase granite countertops for my new kitchen. I went to Master Granite first. I am glad I did. Michelle guided me through the process of ordering my granite countertops. She was very helpful and a an extremely pleasant person to work with. Her knowledge of granite countertops is very comprehensive. I believe I am receiving a fair market price for what I need. So far so good... Our recent installation on two homes on our property was full of delays and alignment errors. Worst was that the installation team team scratched the just installed new floor, the flooring contractor instructed them moments before what not to do and then they did it, sliding a refrigeratorsideways across flloor 90 degrees from the wheel direction. While they admitted to it and contacted the owner. The owner AJ shorted us $100s of dollars on the repair after weeks of delays stating it shouldn't have cost that much! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MGM Countertops & Cabinetry! Their customer service and quality is TERRIBLE! I purchased a $2,000 countertop for my master bathroom, only to have them no show for measuring the template which had to be rescheduled, then on the installation date I called to confirm and they tell me that I was not on the schedule and they had not even completed cutting it out! We reschedule for the next day, but then they show up on the afternoon of the original install date and were annoyed no one was waiting for them!! Then, the original install was done poorly and left a BIG gap next to the wall because they refused to cut around the molding on the wall. I had to call and schedule ANOTHER meeting for them to see that what they did would NOT work and the template was completely wrong. They had to remove that countertop and cut an entirely new one, but that took two more meetings at my house and then the install gouged a piece on the newly installed cabinet. Finally, the backsplash installation had to be delayed for my top cabinets to go in. They schedule the installation and no one shows up. 90 minutes after the appointment I call the company and I am told that they have another job and still wont be at my home for AN HOUR. When I expressed to the owner on the phone that this was not good customer service, he starts yelling at me! Honestly, this company is a joke and is probably the poorest run organization I have ever seen, but with all the mistakes you would AT LEAST expect some tone of apology or understanding, not a rude attitude and yelling. We contracted with MGM last spring to install marble counters. We were told that we would have a 15 year warranty against stains and that they had installed them in many homes with no problems. While stains is now a problem, it is the least of our problems. The process has been a nightmare from the beginning. We have had counters installed in several other homes in Florida and Georgia without any problems -great experiences. The MGM installer did not use dust barriers during installation and the cut on site in our home. Our house was covered in dust. The previous installers that we used had used dust barriers. ---But, at least, this was something we could correct. Part of the surface of the counters had damage. The installer told us this was due to the improper way that the marble had been stored. We were offered a credit for this damage. --The installer did not complete the stain sealer and several other parts of the work. Then within two weeks part of the counter began to sink in. When we looked under the counter, we could see that the brand new cabinet had been cut and part of the structure removed. When we called the installer, he told us that MGM had fired him. We called MGM and eventually they sent out a great team who corrected the counter that had fallen and built a new support -as well as sanded another area which had cracked. They told my husband about the few remaining things they would handle in addition to finishing/reapplying the sealant. My husband told me that things were on a good path, he trusted them so I can pay them the final payment. Unfortunately, I did that. No one ever came again. The parts of the counter that they had repaired and sanded last time were not sealed ---and are now stained. Worse is that another part of the counter that was not appropriately supported is cracking and we fear is going to break off. After many emails and contacts to them, we had to file a dispute with American Express. While that finally got their attention, the manager (owner?) is stating that we broke this section -which is absolutely not true (I swear on everything I hold dear in this life). There isn't even a logical way that someone could break the counter in this position. It is clearly another case of lack of support. -- MGM said that the dispute must be removed prior to them completing the work. While we would be happy to clear the dispute once the contracted work is completed, based on our past experience, we can't trust their word. We will likely end up in court over this. Our lawyer recommended that we hire another contractor to come in and document the situation -and make the needed repairs. We have months of emails and documentation trying to get this resolved in a simpler manner. (At this point, we had said that we would live with the cracks if they will sand them as they did the others and add the proper supports.) We have been doing work on houses for over 30 years and my husband is an architect who deals with these types of vendors all the time. We have never experienced such horrible service or treatment from any company ever. We very highly do not recommend this company. They have not provided what they contracted to provide, did not provide professional service -and are not standing behind their work. read more
