LETTER TO MN.GOV, MY EMPLOYEE RIGHTS COMPLAINT INQUIRY
MY STORY AS A PRIOR LAKE MGM EMPLOYEE:
My name is Savannah Lee Fahlstrom and I believe that I am a victim of discrimination in the workplace, wrongful termination without just cause, wrongful accusation of theft, and sexual harassment in the workplace.
I was an employee at MGM Wine & Spirits until today, and due to the change in management, while still MGM--got cut allegedly due to downsizing which I do not believe is the case.
Today I was given the paperwork to fill out to reapply for the position but wasn't even granted my chance to turn it in. I believe I was fired for no reason because I was never told anything but to work on my customer service, which once told I improved.
I had experienced a serious case of sexual harassment while working here and that can be proven through email correspondence, video footage and texts. The issue was not addressed in an appropriate manner and all MGM employees at the Prior Lake location feign innocence.
Prior to this instance, my boss, Kyle Cocks wrote me up for my drawer being off $15 and then through text accused me of taking the 15 dollars which I did not, then used it as a reason for not wanting to put me on the schedule two weeks prior to my termination. The company policy is to first give someone a warning, then write them up, then the second time they get written up it is just cause to fire someone. Kyle Cocks did not follow company policy and wrongfully accused me of theft via text which I have proof of.
I have a slight case of autism that causes me to not pick up on social cues, and causes other challenges in the workplace and I believe I was discriminated against due to my disability as well.
For this past week and a half, I was told by management that there was nothing to do in the store by both Kyle and Matt (store management) and I believe it was to make it appear as though I did nothing at all. It was a set up by management to make me appear as though I was a worthless employee. For the past two weeks, management would hire all employees on at the same time, while they stood in a pod together and talked the entire time while I helped customers. I was then asked if I would like to leave early every day due to four other employees all coming in at once.
The dates and texts can all be proven, and enough video footage can all be referred to so long as their side didn't tamper with footage.
I would seriously like this to be reviewed by a legal professional because I do believe this is a clear case of the aforementioned.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Savannah Lee Fahlstrom
