This is the dumbest liquor store on the planet. I understand it's family owned but you would think they would love to make money. They don't open til 11AM, close at 8PM, then they don't even have the sense to be open on Sundays like everyone else in the world. Bad for business and need to step up there professional game. I'm done with this weird store and their janky hours. When they're open they're great. the problem is you can never when they're open as they seem to open and close on a whim like the tiger's treasure trove from Alladin. "Hey it's 8pm on a Saturday lets go to Liquor Vault to get some alcohol" - No chance buddy we closed. "Hey it's 2pm on a Sunday lets go get some alcohol" - Nope we decided we were gonna close today and not post it anywhere except for a sign on our outer door. I can honestly say I have been to this store more times and they have been closed, than I have gone when they are open. It's absurd. I'm done with this stupid store. If they decide to be closed they just decide to and post a sign on their door. Don't waste your time and go to a different liquor store cause Liquor Vault is garbage. read more

I've shopped here a handful of times maybe 5 times and each time the cashier is incredibly rude he is always on his phone, has a terrible attitude and huffs and puffs wherever you ask him a question, always seems to want to rush the customers out of the store, and once you purchase your items he throws the bottles of liquor at you it's as if he doesn't want any customers which is crazy because they're already overpriced lol at any rate I won't ever return back. read more

I live nearby, so I've been coming here once a month or so for a few years. Recently my wallet was stolen and I lost my ID. With DVS being closed, I went over with my birth certificate and photos of my ID, and they turned me away. If I was just some rando they'd never seen before, I'd get it, but I'm not. It just felt petty and lazy, and really turned me off to the thought of coming back when this is all over. read more

Another liquor store with lazy, incompetent employees. I called earlier in the day and had asked if they had a certain bottle of liquor in stock. They did, but I knew it wouldnt last long so I asked if they could hold a bottle aside for me until I got off work. The man asked for my name and told me he would set one aside. I drove 25 minutes out there and when I asked the guy about he sat there and was like "uhhhhhh" and then proceeded to tell me how there were 2 bottles earlier with tags/names on them but they sold them already. So either they sold my bottle, or never even set one aside. Stay away at all costs! Horrible experience and will never be coming back. read more

Best liquor store downtown, and I've lived here 14 years. The prices are appropriate for the Lowertown neighborhood, it's always clean and tidy, plus well stocked and not missing common items like the other store nearby. I'm currently laid up and unable to walk. Not only does LV deliver, they made it very clear that the modest $5 delivery charge covered the tip. I charged my order over the phone and am happy as a clam. They also had a seasonal beer on the shelf ready for my order. These kids are doing it right. Friendly service, price appropriate for the location, selection, and growing knowledge. Their small storefront belies the breadth of their beer selection. You would erroneously think that this store stocked shelves of MD 20/20 and Natty Ice but no, they stock a range of great beers, decent wines, and a serviceable liquor selection . Now delivery. I'm waiting on my first delivered purchase from LV. The delivery guy was out of pocket for a few hours so I know I need to allow a couple hours of catch-up. A small, basic liquor store. A better craft beer selection than you'd expect. Wine selection was a bit thin, though prices were fair. Staff are friendly. The Liquor Vault has potential. I'd encourage the ownership to look to a place like Lowertown Liquor as an aspirational example of what this place could be. read more

I have ordered delivery from, and gone to, the Liquor Vault for several years now. Never again. From now on it's Lowertown Wine and Spirits. I was treated unbelievably rudely by someone on the phone who called himself "the manager", but yet wouldn't give a name. Any real manager who had nothing to hide or be ashamed of would certainly give his name. Will try to find the owner's name and complain directly. Up to this point, I have loved the "family atmosphere" and have even played with the kids and purchased tickets from them to help support a charity. They have, in one phone call, lost at least $2600 in business from me, minimum, for this guy's attitude. Incredibly rude, and fond of interrupting. read more

Really well kept store, recently remodeled. One of the few places left where the owners' children are running around and learning the trade. The beer selection is wonderful, and they have a wider selection of ciders than most, including dry ciders. One of the few places I can find a dry rosé as well (Fleurs de Prairies). They even have a really well-priced South African red. I don't know that I've seen a more varied wine selection in the Twin Cities, at these prices. Whenever I go to MGM or other chains, I am unsurprised to pay more. Good people, great selections, awesome prices, why go anywhere else? read more

To me, in the year 2016 (almost 17) a competitive liquor store in the neighborhood should have a website (remaining current) that supplies a potential customer who might be disabled (as am I) with a up to date list of what they have in stock listed. I think their biggest competitor (and it is MAJOR competition) here in downtown SP is such a strong competitor simply because that info is always here on the web--MUCH MORE than willing to change my review if they'd change some of their format--Come ON--it's 2016 and you've got to keep up with the times to be able to provide the same kind of service that your biggest competition does. If you did have a website, I may very well have ordered from you today rather than Lowertown Wine and Spirits which is the major competition I formerly referred to! read more

i ordered a case of miller lite for delivery ( one block away). it cost $27.00 and the beer was hot. i called and the girl that i complained to didn't seem to care. she didn't offer to send a cold case to me ( across the street). she just said that she would pass my complaint along. from now on i will call lowertown liquor. liquor vault... if you read these postings then please try to take care of the customers that are spending their money with you. remember, we can go elsewhere. you are not the only liquor store anymore. read more
