Having a bad back we went back numerous times to check height of the mattress to floor. I need to go on bad by just sliding on. This mattress is a good 5 inches shorter than what was told. The salesman was just looking for his commission. Was calling store the day we received it and no answer for over four hours. It was the salesman's mistake and they could care less. We buy by using the expertise of the staff. Apparently there is no expertise just commissioned sales people. $10000 means nothing to them but it sure means a lot to me. Too bad for them, I need a full living room set and will never give this company my time or money.

I pass by this hidden location almost everyday but today after my closing I decided to actually stop. Let me say that this is now my favorite furniture outlet store ever. This is the way it works... you enter and surprisingly there are NO pushy sells person waiting to sell you furniture. You are on your own in here. There are two types of price tag stickers. 1. Yellow Tags - Means price is final, cannot be marked down, item is new and more in stock. 2. White Tags - Price can be negotiable. Item is sold "As Is" and normally the store demo and only one left. Both tags are drastically reduced compared to the actual El Dorado Store. When you like an item, you snap a picture of the tag with your phone and take it to the front counter where you will be checked out. If you have any white price tag items you can then speak to the manager and he can lower the price depending on damage or availability. I bought a white leather queen size platform bed for $190 (yellow tag, originally $699) and a bedroom drawer made out of glass for $120 (white tag, originally $499, price was negotiated $20 less). Fantastic buy for both pieces! I saw many other deals but I didn't want to spend more. They don't deliver like the main El Dorado stores but they can "refer" a delivery service. I happened to have the moving truck that day so I saved on that. Might not hurt to have a pick up truck handy the day you come. If not they hold your item for 48 hours till you come back. Staff is friendly they offered to fix the drawer for me since knobs were loose. They have a selection of items from all types of furniture to pillows, lamps, rugs, decoratioins, mirrors, etc. The outlet is located South of Miami International Airport on 72 ave and NW 12 st, kind of hidden. They have a free private lot to park in. They close at 7pm so get there early.

Its in a rougher area but if you want good stuff its most definitely worth your time. All of the furniture in the store has been donated, but its not your run of the mill donations: much of it has been donated directly from mid and high-end furniture stores. The manager told me El Dorado sends a lot of their scratched or dented pieces that they can't sell, but are still in very good shape. A big chunk of the pieces at Better Way are most definitely designer pieces, some of the smaller pieces selling for upwards of$400-$500 dollars each, some easily for more. I couldn't believe some of the high quality pieces they had that were priced waaaaaaaaaaay below what they would be sold for in store. Yeah they've got a couple little dents and marks, but you'll make some on your own eventually when you buy them. I got a very stylish brand new dresser with a couple marks which I think will come out with some elbow grease, and for a very, very good price. Also the thrift store supports a recovery center, and I love to support a good cause. If you want to support local business or are a bargain hunter like me, check this place out!

I first hit One Of A Kind in search of a special wallpaper. While the design district (despite its…read morename) isn't really the best starting point for most home decorating journeys, I first found their website and I believe it was the closest place to Miami Beach with a decent selection of wallpaper books for review. First, let's just get this out the way: their website (as of late 2013) is awful. It's like the internet circa 1997. Bad. But their retail location is large, pretty, with parking at both sides of their building (it's on a corner). The interior cordons off the wallpaper book "library" to the back where staff help consult shoppers like me looking for inspiration. But each time I've been there, it usually takes *several* minutes for someone to help and the staff have been more helpful than not, however English language skills are a lacking for some staff. This was less an attitude problem than a language thing. Anyway, I'm giving this a three star rating which might seem harsh, but that's exactly what I think makes sense: One Of A Kind stocks lots of wallpaper and interior textiles, with books available for research and product available for order, but it's not above-and-beyond.

The designers that work there are extremely knowledgeable, kind, attentive and helpful. The pieces of art in the front are magnificent. The entire store is exquisite. When I asked the young man that was assisting us how long they had been there, he said almost 30 years, I could not believe that I had never discovered this gem. We plan to visit with more time soon. As a fur mom, I was delighted with their gorgeous Golden Retriever, I can't wait to visit again! Pro tip: They have plenty of parking in front.
