The market runs from June - October and runs along Main Street North and Main Street South. It only runs from 7am - 1pm, so make sure to get there early so you don't miss out on all the fresh goodies. It was a beautiful June day when I stopped by and the weather was perfect! There were plenty of local vendors displaying a variety of products - empanadas, arepas, ice cream, fruits, veggies, breads, and so much more! My aunt and I split a chicken pupusa, which is an El Salvadorian flatbread topped w/ a variety of meats/veggies. It's similar to an arepa if you've had that before. I LOVED it. It was fun to watch them knead the dough, throw it in the fryer and make it fresh right in front of you. We also grabbed some ice cream and some empanadas, all of which were delicious and perfect for the warm June day. One of my flaws (or good qualities...depends who you are) is wanting to buy every single market vendor product I see, especially if it's food. This market was no exception - everything looked delicious! Luckily, I had my grandma around to keep me in check...although she isn't much better than me. If I'm back to visit my fam in the GTA in the summer again, I'll definitely be coming back here.

They have various meats to choose from which they throw on the grill to give some char marks. I chose the chicken and shrimp combo. The combo comes with two sides and you can choose from salad, coleslaw, chickpeas, corn, grilled veggies and broccoli, basmati rice, noodles and some other things I can't remember. I went with the grilled veggies, corn and basmati rice. They also have different sauces to brush your meat with or put on the side: jerk, butter chicken and some others. All I can say is delicious. I haven't had anything like this in a food court and I wish there were more locations. My only feedback is I didn't like the butter sauce it was sweet and nothing like any butter sauce I have ever tried but aside from that I was happy with my meal. Some of the stands aren't actually from farms (from what I hear) but just people that buy large quantities of produce and go to market to sell it. I didn't buy anything from those guys. I DID, however, buy from a bunch of different families/farmers. It was so wicked cool! I was really overwhelmed by the size of the setup and the number of stands. I most appreciated the guys that offered samples of their fruits and veggies. In fact, I wound up just saying "yes" to buying everything they fed me as I took each euphoric bite. I'm not gonna lie... not all of the vendors are very friendly. I actually felt that the majority were not so. That was a bit of a letdown. But I spent enough time passing through the lanes and chatting with a handful of people that I still had a warm and welcoming experience. The market is open Friday and Sunday from about 7 or 8 am until about 4 or whenever they pack up and will run to October. I know where I will be doing my shopping for the next couple of months!

It took three managers to let me go and they had the audacity to ask if there is anything going on in my life like if there is some normal behaviour as if it was a therapy session. I was just looking for a chill grocery job while coming to work and this place is FAR from that .
