    Enchiladas verdes de pollo

Came in for lunch. The chips were warm and crunchy and the salsas were flavorful. Ordered the enchiladas verdes and was the perfect balance of chicken , cheese and salsa ! The salsa was not acidic or sour like other restaurants . The Taco Pirata was also delicious with crispy fajita , melted cheese and fresh avocado , onion and cilantro. The service was great and attentive and the decor was cute in a way ! Will come back and do recommend , especially for family from out of town looking for authentic Mexican food!

The Ranchero was a fluffy omelet filled with melted cheese, poblano pepper strips, and onions served with Chilaquiles and refried beans.

Both the food and service were amazing here! The music and decor make it a place we will come back to!

A good option for Mexican food, but not quite on the "Best of Brownsville" list. Plenty of options on the menu to choose from for both food and drinks (they have a pretty large bar area with big screen TVs in case you want to watch a game). My favorite appetizer was the queso flameado (~$10) and they do it well- baked and broiled right on the skillet! For entrees, wife and I enjoyed the fajitas tradicionales (~$15), which also comes in a skillet with grilled onions and frijoles charros on the side. We weren't too pleased with the Tlalpeño soup (~$8), as it lacked spice and seemed more like a chicken tortilla soup. I'd come back to MP to try a few other options on my next visit.

I'm going to be honest, the food is great here. The service is terrible. You have to ask repeatedly for a refill of salsa or a drink. The wait staff are busy chatting amongst each other every time I have been there. I enjoy eating their big fajita plate with charro beans. I'm not crazy about any of their drinks. Plus the salsa's are also great. Three different salsa's are delicious. I also enjoy the talipeno soup.

Hotcakes with eggs and ham. To be honest the picture isn't doing the pancake justice.

So I've been meaning to come here since my last trip to Brownsville, it's close to my hotel and open for breakfast. I decided to stop by for my last breakfast before I head home this time. This is probably not my definitive review on the subject, I'll have to come back sometime later in the day and try the more traditional Mexican cuisine. That said, the restaurant itself is charming inside. Service was average. I went with the hot cakes, with bacon and eggs. On the downside, they were out of bacon. (How does that happen, it only takes a few minutes to fry a strip of bacon. But, anyway.) The scrambled eggs were competently executed and the hot cakes were delicious, though I will never understand why restaurants in general think it's appropriate to serve pancakes with nearly-frozen butter. I think they have potential but I'd be hard-pressed to recommend them on the basis of this visit.

My first experience here. CoronaVirus changes aside... so far I'm not impressed. I ordered iced tea half sweet, half unsweetened and it tastes a bit sour. I've been sitting here nearly 10 minutes and have no chips yet after my server asked if I'd like some. The chips finally came AFTER my entree. I ordered chicken flautas. Seems easy enough. The chicken tasted as if it were boiled in plain water with no seasoning at all. Overall bland and unexciting. My server, an older gent, never came to check on me until I was done eating. I asked for my check and it was promptly provided and he walked away. There's no "check out station" so the servers have to run the card and being it back to you. I had to flag down another server to get this accomplished. Mind you, it's noon on a Saturday and I'm the ONLY customer in the restaurant. VERY disappointed is an understatement! I will take my future Mexican food business elsewhere.

Good food, great service, delicious cocktails, and festive times! They serve up some mean mollejas and strong margaritas! Get some!

Never written a bad review. Almost always give good reviews. BUT this time at Mi Pueblito there were so many wrong things: Table dirty (two visits) No straws for our drinks No utensils and plates for our appetizer. Water falling from ceiling Hair on plate Hair on table cloth.

First time here visiting from out of town our server was phenomenal and the food was fantastic great margaritas and happy hour will definitely be back!

A Hidden Gem of Authentic Mexican Flavor and Elevated Hospitality…read more If you're searching for a truly unforgettable dining experience, look no further than this incredible spot. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth and enthusiasm that set the tone for an exceptional evening. Let's talk about the food: the grilled octopus was nothing short of perfection--expertly charred on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired beautifully with fresh, vibrant microgreens. Every bite was a masterclass in balance and flavor, showcasing the kind of culinary skill that can only come from recipes passed down through generations. The authentic Mexican flavors here are deeply rooted in tradition, yet elevated with a modern touch. It's clear the chef-owner has honed their craft under Michelin-starred mentors. That level of expertise comes through in every dish--from the nuanced seasoning to the thoughtful plating. And then there's the drink: La Paloma de Mi Corazón--hands down one of the most refreshing, clean-tasting cocktails I've ever had. Bartender Benito is a true artist behind the bar, blending flavors with precision and passion. He absolutely rocked that drink! The customer service was exceptional throughout. Attentive without being overbearing, every staff member made us feel genuinely cared for. It's rare to find a restaurant where both the front and back of house operate in perfect harmony. Whether you're a local foodie or just passing through, this place is a must-visit. Authentic, elevated, and unforgettable. Can't wait to come back. The most important part is that if you ask for water you will get FIGI water because Brownsville water has contaminants that are EPA approved but in the long run not safe.
