Where do I start? This place honestly sucks with the food never go here if you want to go to the bathroom or feel sick. I do like the fish tank and the servers are nice and quick but the cooks don't wash their hands and they are very rude and childish cooks. The manager that runs this place has poor communication skills and sexualizes his new female works unless they are friends with his daughter. The food came out hot and was pretty tasty. The chips and salsa were fresh and had just the right amount of heat. Our server was friendly and checked on us a few times but when she asked if we were through (which we were) it took about 10 mins to get the bill. Mind you, our check was altogether, so we couldn't understand what took so long. The restaurant itself seems pretty dated but being the only Mexican restaurant in town they can get away with it. Rant for the night: First of all, I totally understand accidents happen but this was not addressed properly. Our waitress spilled a tray of drinks down my girlfriends back (strawberry daiquiri, cookies and water). Ruined 2 shirts and possibly stained a Harley Jacket (still need to check that out). At check out, the cashier asked how the food was. We replied good. So since the food was good, he would not or could not discount the meal. I explained that we would take them to court for replacing the clothes. He then suggested we speak with the manager. After all said and done they took $11 off their bill. Not even enough to pay for her clothes or dry clean the Harley coat (or replace if stained). It's subzero outside. It definitely changed our evening plans as she had to go home and put dry clothes on. read more

Well first to begin with the food here is good no doubt about that , but the waitresses are rude , get inpatient with customers ordering they're food , as well as we had a little mix up with food and tried to get someone to help us as one and many passes to other tables being aware that we were waiting for them they all went to the back and didn't come out for awhile untill they had to get their other tables..I was at this point very upset because we came here and gave off good energy and manners and weren't treated so nicely when I politely asked to get help they took a long time to come over to see about the situation. This is definitely not one of my favorite places to eat, but when a dinner companion wants Mexican, it is the only game in town. Their menu is affordably priced but the food is pretty typical of American Mexican food. Having lived in Central America for many years, I find the "Mexican" restaurants have catered to the common taco, enchilada, etc. that Americans eat. It will fill you up, but doesn't feel authentic to me. Service can be great at times and poor at others. You never know what you are going to get until you sit down. I will continue to visit occasionally, but that is about quarterly. read more

Having owned Mexican restaurants in the past, this was a Good Mexican restaurant. Nicely decorated, Mexican music in background (not just "Spanish music") Staff was attentive, fast, friendly. Food was good, I had Taco dinner. (Photo attached). I was full. My only complaint would've to have little rice with the entrée, not because I needed more food but because I like mex rice with my meal. Oh and the chips were nice and warm, yay. I would recommend coming here. FYI, if you want hotter salsa, just ask, they will be happy to bring something a bit more authentic. read more

Food is good. Super irritating how they wipe of the table as soon as we sit down, leave it wet, then i have to wipe it down myself with the ONE napkin they gave us because its sticky. When I wiped down the table orange residue showed up on the tissue. Makes me wonder whats been on this table. Good place to eat, just uncleanliness. read more

The fajitas had no flavor! There was way way more veggies than meat. The corn tortillas seemed like they were cooked in the microwave. The rice and beans tasted like plastic. The salsa had the flavor of dishwashing soap and the chips were stale! They didn't even know what type of tequila they put in their margaritas! WHO DOESNT KNOW what they put into their own margaritas?!? Do I feel robbed? Yes! $25 for fake food!! The only good thing about this place was that the water was free. We have been coming here for a couple of years. It used to be really good but has really gone downhill in the last year. The queso is runny as water. The service sucks. Went there with my family for Mother's Day. My husband & I both ordered frozen margaritas. The waitress brought them to us and admitted they were not frozen since she had just filled the machine. They were lukewarm--absolutely gross. We told her that we really wanted frozen margaritas. She told us to go ahead and drink the ones she brought (if we wished to do so), and she would bring us frozen ones once the machine was ready. She checked back with us twice during our meal and told us that they still were not frozen. At that point, as we were packing up, we told her just to forget them. She brought us our bill and we were charged for the drinks. When my husband paid at the counter and said he was not paying for the drinks. Angry waitress marched over and chewed our butts in front of God & everyone. Her argument was that since we ordered them, we were paying for them. Since we sipped out of the ones she gave us (my husband drank maybe 1/2, after filling his cup with ice), we had to pay for them. Ridiculous and embarrassing. This all could have been avoided by telling us she was out of frozen margaritas. I wish there was a manager on duty that we could have complained to. In a small town like this, there aren't many options for decent food. There is now one less for our family. P.S. Said waitress didn't bring us the extra plate we asked for, nor a box for our food. Service was the worst service in several years. We kept having to chase down the young waitress to get her to bring us new drinks. The group was a family get together of 10-15 people and after chasing them down for our drinks to go with our food, and the next couple rounds, we just left. Then they couldn't figure out how to put all the drinks on my tab while everyone else paid for their food. The food was not great either and I love mexican food. Would not recommend it to anyone and won't eat there again unless every other food joint in the town is closed. read more

We have eaten at this restaurant several Sundays a month after church over the last five years. They are fast, friendly and the food is always hot and delicious. Recently (last 3 visits) the taco salad shells have been getting pretty dark-almost burned. Everyone has an off day now and then, however, last visit we mentioned it. We started going here around 2015 when we moved to the area. The service had always been slow, but tolerable, and the food was for the most part ok. We each had own dish on the menu we really liked, the chips and salsa were good as were the margaritas. We'd pop in about once or twice a month on a Friday night. The place was often busy but we never had to wait for a table. After a few months of not eating here we decided to head back for a date night. We showed up as usual to a dining room that wasn't even close to half full and we were turned away. They told us that they're too busy to serve us. I looked at all the empty tables and asked if we could wait for a minute. Again they told us that they wouldn't be serving us tonight. We've both worked in the service and restaurant industry so we gave them the benefit of the doubt and figured something else out for the night. We thought they might be short staffed in the kitchen or something. A couple of weeks later we came back on another Friday night hoping for another shot at getting a table for our date night, but we were once again turned away. Once again the dining room was less than half full but this time a senior waitress shook her head while saying, "No, no, no, no, no," to us as she walked away with a tray of food. I was told that they were once again too busy to serve us. I wondered - then why is there a gaggle of servers standing around on the clock doing nothing? If the kitchen is still short staffed ask some of the servers if they want to help cook and send the rest home. About a week or two goes by and we called on a Friday to get some carry out so we could both get some work done at home. They do have a couple of dishes we were craving. In ordering our food we asked for a couple of additions to our dishes. The same ones we always have asked for and have always received. However this time we were told "No." By the hostess on the phone. I asked to speak to the manager and she told me "No" as well. Saying that the owner has decided that they will no longer allow changes, additions or substitutions to the dishes. I told her she can charge us extra. Still she refused. If these truly are the new policies of the owners or new owners - to not seat people on Friday when the room is less than half full, and to not allow any changes or additions to a dish, I don't see how this is an improvement on a mediocre Mexican restaurant who already had a lot of room to improve. There is certainly a void in Washington for a decent Mexican Restaurant and I am certainly hoping one does because we will definitely not be paying for anymore meals from this place. By the way, right next door to this place is a bar called Unc and Neph's, and they've got some great food as well as a good tap. I'm sure they could make you a margarita as well. read more

I think one star is too much If you are having a meal for more than 4 people look elsewhere!!!! The food is EXCELLENT, if you have a small party of 4. I had a very recent experience with them, we told them several weeks in advance we would like to have an "opening" lunch party for after my WEDDING for 15 people. In a nut shell, the wedding was a little behind, so we were a little late getting to the restaurant. However, we all sat down and what I believe ordered in a normally timely manner. The waitress was exceptionally helpful, as helpful as she could be... They only gave us ONE waitress for our entire group. The poor waitress had to being us pitchers of beverages to sit at the tables because she couldn't keep up with the refills, and then just sat them on the table and left us. It was NOON when we ordered our first meals, and it was nearly 90 minutes later when the last TACO salad was served. And the taco bowl was in my own opinion scorched, and made in a hurry. I was so embarrassed because I had friends and family from Burlington, to Cedar Rapids that came to my small Wedding party. I had had nothing but good food, and good service from these people in the past, and to ruin the reception from their poor planning, and participation of our group I believe left a bad impression, to whether I would want to go to their establishment again or not. Granted I'd had good experience with them in the past, but when it really counts, they Did offer us a refund of 3 meals, but nothing could prepare me for the lack of professionalism that I had experienced before. Had I known it was going to be such a disaster, I would have chosen somewhere else such as perhaps Kentucky Fried Chicken, or Pizza Hut. At least then I'd have gotten the first hand "service I would have expected" from someplace that serves more than 4 meals at once. read more

Not sure how this place was ever rated 4 stars. Had a large group and heard about many dishes and it was all below average. Steak was dry and chewy, chicken was over cooked as well. Tried it one more time. Didn't think it could be worse, but they surprised me. It was worse. Had the carnita dinner and it came with the far from tasty meat, three tortillas, refried beans, and rice. This used to be a great place. The last time here killed it for us though. The wait staff really sucked the life out of this great little restaurant. The table behind us got up and left because the server was so bad and there where about 4 tables in the entire resturant. It took four trips to the kitchen for our food to be brought out. One of the things that was forgotten was the tortillas for my meal and when they where brought out, the server just threw them on the table. They literally slapped the table. Then he noticed my boots and started staring at them for at least a couple of minutes before I asked if there was anything wrong. He said no he just really liked my boots and stared at them some more. Never got drink refills and my supposed med-well steak was medium at best. My wife speaks Spanish and she said the waiter was flirting with the girls on staff. If this waiter is better trained and his work ethic is brought up to snuff, I could see them getting another chance. I would like to start by saying that I DO NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone at all because of 1. The restroom are gross, they seem that they don't get clean. 2. The room temperature is cold. 3. The staffing are extremely loud and annoying. It makes them look very unprofessional. 4. The service is horrible. 5. We were trying to have a conversation but the staffing were being very loud. 6.
