They even tried blaming some of their mistakes on us? We spent nearly $40k on what ended up being a below-average job, full of shortcuts with poor quality craftsmanship. Initially all the plastic foam and paper products flew off the back of the trucks. Any responsible person would have stopped and picked up the huge remnants of debris that was flying off the trucks but clearly these guys could care less about the environment. Once we left the residential area and got on the highway they were driving 20 miles over the speed limit and that's when rocks, boulders, and boards started flying off the truck. I was on the phone with the secretary of the company expressing my dismay over the blatant and pathetic littering of our roads and ditches. That is when my vehicle was showered with debris. The secretary promised me that she would be in contact with the drivers to pick up the debris and the owner of the company would contact me for my repairs to my car. Not only did that not take place but I called the company multiple times and they did not have the integrity to ever return my phone call. I highly suggest you avoid this company at all costs. I only hope my insurance company goes after them for the damage to my vehicle. I'd love to see the employees walk the ditches of Brown County to pick up all the garbage and debris but clearly the owner doesn't care.

My eye caught the attention of the backed by the BBB sign. I called and set up an appointment when much to my surprise, one of the owners came to my home to access my backyard specifications. Not too often do you see the owner do this. One of the Friendliest people I have ever met. Soon after that, another owner with his crew showed up to begin the work. When framed with wood and the cement in, they put a hard coating on top with the stamp of my liking into it and it was then sealed. I was impressed with the crew that was very friendly and hard working. The lead construction worker came and asked me one more time what I wanted so that it was right. the owner came before the job and asked me also, what I wanted so the job was done right, and I would be pleased with the outcome. When completed, I noticed that some of the coloring that they put down was much lighter in a few areas and I was not totally happy with the results. The owner then contacted me and addressed what was wrong. He then came to my house himself and put more coloring in the areas that I thought didn't look right. then it was sealed again in some areas. he didn't have to do this, but he wanted me to be 100% pleased with his product. Wow, I have never had a company make such an effort to do a job well done and to my specifications. I could tell that the company and their reputation meant a lot to them. Although it took longer than expected to complete because of the rainy spring we had, the owner kept in contact with me through the entire time it took to put my patio in. Some in the past have left me many days, wondering if and when they were coming back. This company has owners and workers who care and have a conscience about doing a job well done and the happiness of their client. My only suggestion for improvement is the billing process--I would have appreciated the option to pay by credit card on the day of installation and receive invoices by email, and including a return envelope with the mailed bill would have been helpful. Overall, we're very pleased with our new fireplace and would recommend this company.

The first time, they claimed I had canceled, which was impossible as they had an incorrect phone number on my account. For the second appointment, they gave me a 3-hour window but never showed up. Their failure to show up twice, especially after I confirmed the correct contact information, resulted in two wasted days for me. This lack of communication and reliability is unacceptable.

The owner claims to have come by, however, even though I was home, he never "came to the door" so at this time I am unsure if he truly did the on-site inspection. He assured me he did come by, and his original quote was correct. I was told depending on weather, they were scheduling 3 weeks out after down payment was received. I requested weekly updates on the scheduling. I was initially informed that my project could happen the week of July 13th. An update was provided late June moving my project to mid-August due to rain. I questioned that because we weren't having rain. I shared that I may cancel my job after speaking to my realtor and I would let them know within 2-3 days if I would cancel. Ironically, I received a message a day later they would be there the next morning to begin work. I am disappointed in their work. The owner left out 38 feet x 10 feet of area. When I challenged it, he responded saying he left it out of the quote? I responded saying, it didn't make any sense because on the north and south side of this space he could clearly see the area is seeded with lawn. This section was torn up because we removed shrubbery and pine trees and it made no sense to leave this section incomplete. He said, well, I didn't include it in the quote. I replied, and this is why I specifically asked you to stop by and meet me so that he completely understood my requirements. The area was a mess as the previous owner didn't seed this part and it had a mixture of mulch and gravel. They did a very poor job of prepping the area for seeding. As I look at this space, there is a lot of gravel in this area left behind. He admittedly said he received poor "fill" as the topsoil and had bid 7 yards, but needed to purchase 10 because what he purchased was not good. I agree wholeheartedly with his statement. It was clumpy, clay and they did very little to make this area flat. I did tell Ryan the owner that I am sorry he purchased such poor topsoil, however, that was not my fault, but his. The grass is growing in areas, however, I will be picking up stones/rocks before I can cut this area. The crew hand seeded, meaning crew just took handfuls of seed and tossed it around. The result of this seeding is large areas with no seed that I have had to fill in. In the second part of this project, I Included having them put in edging around the house, weed prevention material, and mulch. About 2 weeks in, I started to plant shrubs around the house. In the back, as I began to start adding in the shrubbery, I noticed a pile of mulch in the middle of this particular section, piled rather high up against my home. At first, I thought nothing of it. When I finally got to planting this section, I smoothed out the mulch and it was then that I realized the crew had damaged my siding. The mulch was stacked to cover the damage which is a hole in the siding about 2-3 inches wide. There is no way to make a repair as the entire piece that was knocked out is nowhere to be found. I normally don't write reviews, however, if you get a quote from Ryan, I would make sure he is not making a decision on his own on what to include or not include. I would check your home to make sure mulch is not piled high to cover damaged siding. As an FYI, I had 3 other quotes, all within $500. However, leaving out the section he decided NOT to include, his price now is much higher than the other quotes I received. I strongly suggest proceeding with caution if you receive a quote and decide to hire Ryan and Appleton Lawn, Snow Landscaping. I have included photos. The area he left out is a bit difficult to show, however, the picture showing the damaged siding is very clear.
