I came in and stood by the front counter for 10 minutes before anyone came out to even let us know whether to sit down ourselves or wait. Eventually one server came out and told us to sit ourselves. After waiting another 10 ish minutes she came to our table and took our drink orders and food orders at the same time. We had ordered the Chicken Birria Tacos and waters with extra lemon. The server then comes back to the table with waters, except they had extra limes in them which was no big deal until the table next to us with a different server got actual lemons in there water. After waiting for our food to finish or so we thought, the server comes back out to tell us they are not serving the any of the Birria tacos. When we simply asked what time it starts or what else on the menu wasn't available there was no response nor did we get menus to look back to figure out what we wanted until we had to flag her down. We ended up just ordering something else and eventually got the food. My order wasnt hard at all, I simply asked for no Cilantro and still got it so I had to wait for my food even longer when everyone else had already started eating. After this was corrected we never got check up on until it was time for checks and even then we had to have her correct it multiple times for some odd reason because it was all on one check so im still confused about that. Nevertheless I just had a bad experience. The food on the other hand was decent, and for that I give the place a 3 star review but other than that I wouldn't come back unless its for carryout. Been here a few times, and have always enjoyed whatever we order! It seems to be a family-run restaurant in an old Burger King, maybe? Most of the interior seems to be original. So be prepared; It's not exactly cozy. Just embrace it, though, don't let that turn you away! They offer legit tacos, burritos, tostadas, tortas, and more! I have driven by this location multiple times, not even glancing in its direction. Tonight I wanted tacos, and Yelp reviews led me here. Ordered tacos, rice, beans, and guacamole. Guac was pretty good, but it was a little runny. The chips were something I'd buy from the grocery store. Rice was good, beans were good even though they didn't have cheese. They were the real deal. The tacos I got were al pastor, pollo, carne asada. The al pastor taco was hands down the best I've had in the city (at least since Maya got new owners). It was fantastic. The other two were good, but nothing to wrote home about. Corn tortillas were good. The hot salsa was not for me. The spice level was good, but the taste was too....tamarind-y almost (ya know?) Price was good though. Posting pics of the menu as well. Overall it might be my new "go to" for tacos on this side of town. I did get carryout though, the place is kind of meh. read more

My hubby and I stopped by here for lunch. We aren't usually in this area, so we checked Yelp! of course! There was only one other person in here on a Monday at about 1 PM. I was a bit worried. Add onto this fact that it is in a converted fast food restaurant, so I didn't get my hopes up too high. The tables were clean and the Latina server approached us promptly with our menus. We were tempted by the beer and margarita signs, but we opted for ice water. Perhaps another time when the disco ball is lit and turning? Yes, there is a disco ball. We also noticed a sign for karaoke...but onto our food. I ordered tacos. Now there were two kinds. I asked for the server's reco and she pointed to the less expensive ones. I was leaning towards those since they had cilantro, and I got one chicken and one carnitas. Each taco had two corn tortillas and were topped with cilantro and tomatoes. The chicken meat was a bit dry, but I would definitely order the carnitas one again. The seasonings had a really nice flavor. We also ordered a side of rice and beans, as the tacos were a la carte. I would forego them next time...maybe. I do like to use them as a dip for my chips. Hubby ordered a burrito, and it was stuffed with rice beans, and meat. I believe he ordered the carne asada. He was very happy, though he said he would try something else next time. Would I try this place again? Yes! I think it was very authentic, and the prices are very reasonable! read more

Solid, authentic joint. The horchata was delicious, and the spicy salsa IS HOT, coming from someone who regularly uses ground habanero pepper as a seasoning. They do not have ground beef tacos here, but the carne asada is very tasty. Loco style might not be for everyone. We ordered chicken enchiladas expecting the usual sauce and sprinkle of queso blaco, but it was doused in sour cream and lettuce as well making it very cream heavy. I thought it tasted good, but my husband who is not fond of sour cream ended up scraping most of it off. It's not the traditional way of serving it. We also had the pozole, which was hearty and not salty at all. The sopes de carne asada was tasty and a good portion. We would return but ask them the hold the sour cream on the enchiladas. read more

When I drove up, I was very skeptical. The place looked run down and dark inside, but once we walked in my whole opinion changed. Immediately we were greeted by our sweet waiter, who reserved a table for 13 of us 30 minutes in advance. Not only did she have a great personality, but she was so kind, continuously bringing us chips, salsa, and water. When it came time to order, she gave great recommendations, but honestly you couldn't go wrong. I had the Enchiladas Verdes with chicken, as well as some tongue. The enchiladas came with refried beans and rice, aka a classic. They were very authentic, just what we wanted. It was my first time having tongue but man was it good. Don't be fooled this place is terrible. It's a in a building previously occupied by a Burger King. They didn't upgrade when they moved in they downgraded. I had two burritos and they seemed to be frozen and then heated in the microwave. read more

Ordered four tacos two chicken, one steak, and alpastor all on corn shells. This place was very clean on the inside as the exterior makes you think twice about coming in. The waitress was very nice as soon as I sat down she brought over chips and salsa. Good came quick and it was very fresh and definitely authentic. Not impressive on the outside and the tables inside could have been a bit cleaner, but I always give a smaller place a chance and glad I did. I came right as they opened so I was disappointed when they told me that the chips were not finished cooking and wouldn't be ready, however I was glad to hear that they serve fresh chips, guess I will find out on my next trip. I ordered one carnitas taco and a steak burrito. My taco was fantastic, lots of juicy meat and came out piping hot. My burritos was fine, but when I go back I will stick with the tacos. They have a wide variety of meats to choose from, my steak from my burrito was filled with big juicy pieces and had a nice flavor to them. I also enjoyed their hot sauces to choose from as they did not have too much tomato base to them which I can find bland. Next time I'm in the area, I'll be hitting up this place again. read more

This is a great taqueria! The atmosphere is a little funky, but the food is good. The lengua tacos are so good. I even tried the chile relleno taco... it was weird, but in a good way! Avoid this restaurant for two reasons: First, they refused to honor my restaurant.com gift certificate that states it doesn't expire. Stated "we haven't taken those in a long time". Well, restaurant.com still had my Taco Laco certificate as active and restaurant.com certificates don't expire. If restaurants aren't accepting the certificates anymore, then restaurant.com put an "i" in a blue circle by the certificate in your account. My certificate was listed as active and should have been accepted by Taco Laco. It is not right for a restaurant to change their mind about taking the certificates after a customer has paid money for the certificate. You offer it, the customer buys it, you accept to it. That is the only right thing to do. After much agruing with the owner, he gave me what I paid for the certificate, but I lost the promotional value. I will not be back! Second reason to avoid this place. It is not very clean. Floor looked like it hadn't been mopped in ages. Food on the food in the entry way. Really? Salsa served in ketchup bottles that didn't really look very clean. Weeds in the landscaping, wood falling off the building, paint peeling. Appearance means a lot. Although I am most fond of Taqueria Mercado both in Fairfield and in downtown Cincinnati, Taco Loco is a great alternative to either and cheaper, just no table service; you order at the counter. If you are looking for tortas , Taco Loco's tortas are better than Taqueria Mercado in my humble opinion. And, at least on the occasions I have been there, I think that their carne asada is superior to that of taqueria Mercado. The tacos at Tacqueria Mercado are marginally better, better tortillas. That would make it , for the price, the best authentic Mexican food I have had that I've had in the United States outside of a few really authentic places including Texas near the Mexican border. As far as the cleanliness remarks go, I think the bathroom is the cleanest bathroom I have ever seen in such a restaurant. (It's kind of a hole in the wall, former fast food joint?) read more

The food the service even the music is nice. I have been to many other place but this is definitely top of the list!!! If you don't know what to get try the steak or chicken quesadilla grande. It comes with beans,rice,lettuce, sour cream, in a flour tortilla. It's a very large portion!!!! You can't go wrong with that. The best tacos around! My personal favorites are the al pastor and the suidero (I'm probably not spelling any of that right lol)but my husband has tried them all and likes them. Tripe Taco and shrimp cocktail unlike anything you've ever had. Delicious! Tortas are really good. I highly recommend.
