WAY TOO LONG, so now I still need it hemmed again and it wont be in time for my event, what an awful tailor, denying my preference thats right just so he has to do less work, waste of 50 bucks read more

Had a subpar experience about 10 years ago but decided to give this place another try because it has such glowing reviews. The work was good and priced fairly but the tailor has an attitude I'm not a fan of. I haven't gone to many tailors at all and got barked at because I wasn't sure what to do next when I was being measured. I took several items to this shop immediately after it switched to new ownership. My items were not just badly done, but outright ruined even though I had explained in detail what was needed. They charged me again to do the job over, with worse results and a poor customer service attitude. Not impressed. This used to be the best tailor I ever went to in my life. The old owner is turning his business over to someone else and the new person is below subpar. Took in a waist so much the zipper won't go up a centimeter. Ruined. Hemmed pants unevenly by 2 1/2 inches. Ruined. There's no way to reach Mufit, the soon to be old owner. The Mic Mac Tailor Shop is pretty darn swell in my books. From offering that elusive Euro hem for jeans that some local tailors just don't, to turning around complicated requests lickety split for a minimal extra charge, I always feel completely confident dropping off the goods here so that they can turn them into greats. While the price and services offered are pretty standard fare for the tailoring industry, I find the attention to detail and willingness to do what's best for your gear really impressive for a wee tailor shop in a mall. As recently as this week which has been a bit messy with unexpected family commitments, they were able to fully tailor a suit with a one-day turnaround so that I'd be ready to go in no time. Sure - it was an extra $20 for the express charge, but being able to have a brand new suit completely ready to go in a day was just one less thing for me to worry about. They've moved a couple of times which got a bit confusing but they seem to be permanent once more on the bottom floor of the Mic Mac Mall near the Winners entrance. Cash or debit only. read more

I had a great experience here. The fellow working who I assume was the owner was friendly, knowledgeable, and didn't leave me wondering if I was dropping off a pair of pants to have them ruined. I've been going to Mic Mac Tailors now for over ten years. Have always been happy with their services. Pricing is fairly reasonable, they are conveniently located in Mic Mac Mall. They offer many types of tailoring services. Their employees seem happy and have been there for years as well. Wish they were open on Sundays but that's ok - I understand that they are a small business. This is a minor thing since they are otherwise wonderful. If they ever decide to expand to a larger spot in the mall, it would be great to see drycleaning services here as well. read more

I brought my bridesmaid dress to Mic Mac Tailor and they did a fantastic job! You wouldn't even know I took it to get altered other than that it fits perfectly now. They had to work with lots of pleats in the front, a waistband and a structured bodice. Price was great as well. I would definitely recommend Mic Mac Tailor! read more

I'm wondering if the people talking so glowingly about the Mic Mac Tailor Shop have extensive experience getting stuff tailored. I am a huge fan of tailoring and have had countless stuff altered in many different master tailors in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa to name a few... First, the quality was "meh" - the hemming on a pair of pants in particular was longer than I wanted, plus the length of hemming in both legs differs enough to feel "off" (no, I don't have a problem with mismatched leg length). The hemming on a skirt, and alterations to make it slightly smaller, were good. But both pieces came back covered in loose threads from the tailoring jobs (and from others, since there are a bunch of thread pieces that don't match the colours of my own articles of clothing), which I find pretty unprofessional. Then there was the fact that I dropped the stuff off on a Tuesday afternoon and told to return "on the weekend" - which is a bit long for a simple job - and when I showed up on the Sunday, they were closed (only open on Saturday), which they neglected to mention. And finally, the pricing for a straight-forward hemming job on my pants & skirt, plus the alteration, came just under a whopping $75. I'm sorry, but I've had amazing tailors work on my clothes and I have never, ever come close to paying that amount of money for tailoring two pieces. It's unheard of - even for top notch quality, which this wasn't. I was stunned, and for all the reasons mentioned here, I will never, ever return. I don't think charging that amount of money for a straight-forward job (this wasn't a wedding dress fix-up!) for both pieces is acceptable, and returning clothes to a customer with tons of loose threads on them is simply not professional. Add the length of time it took for a simple job, and it's simply not worth it. I'm new to the area and will definitely begin researching for a better tailor - will find someone who works independently if possible. What a disappointment and waste of money! read more
