Personally, I loved this place. (side note- I love lox, and salmon so a place called 'Lox Deli'…read moresuits me well). I had 2 hours to kill, so I brought a book and sat outside in the sun sipping on my coffee. I ordered some scrambled eggs with a side of the lox in virgin olive oil with dill. It was so good, I almost ordered another portion but stopped myself. That would have been a LOT of lox, as the portion size was quite sufficient. My waitress was especially nice. She knew exactly when to let me be- reading to myself- and somehow noticed the moment that I needed something and was at my side asking how she could help . As I was leaving, they were pulling out all of their brunch stuff. It looks like it is an all you can eat buffet of tasty healthy things like light-quiches and fruits and different types of salads. I would like to try it out next time I am in town.

Brunch is a relatively new concept that has begun to become a ritual with us Paulistanos - it's a…read morevery American thing that has trickled down and quite a few places have started a local version of the brunch or rather a bigger breakfast. One of these places is Lox Deli. One fine Saturday, I decided to try their breakfast (or brunch) menu and I was not at all disappointed - fresh house-made bagels with cream cheese, fruit salad with granola and great service - this place keeps growing on me..recommend a visit for breakfast/brunch which they serve all day. The highlight of Lox Deli definitely is the in-house bakery they have and its one of the best bagels I gave had in the city. It's relatively empty on Saturday mornings, so you can sit down and have a relaxed & savoury breakfast - the service is attentive, not pushy. I haven't seen big groups in here for breakfast - it's generally couples or single people and they do allow pets on the patio area. The coziness of the place, the attentive service and the great quality definitely make this one of those place to return. The only caveat that Lox Deli has that it is closed on Sundays - come on ! Sunday is world brunch day !!!

This was our favourite meal of the trip and we had some amazing ones. We were famished and so…read moreordered a lot of food, which was much more than we could handle. We ordered: -Guacamole with banana chips: this was a nice appy to start the meal, coming with very nicely seasoned guac and dehydrated banana chips. Great way to start the meal. Large portion. -Two different types of vegan quiche that were both decadent, rich and well-spiced. Great creamy texture and quite filling -Black risotto - one of the best risottos I've ever had. Very creamy, with lots of vegan mozzarella, mushrooms, pumpkin seeds, and plenty of microgreens on top. Absolutely divine. -Baião de dois (vegan). I hadn't tried one of these before, and man was it incredible. The main dish was a rice-based dish with vegan sausage, firm tofu, and veggies with a very complex flavour and wonderful textures. On the side was an incredible garlic-sauteed kale, fried banana, and a sort of polenta-like mash with hearts of palm/jackfruit(? - look up) that was sensational. Our server spoke no English, so we communicated via Google Translate. He was so kind, hospitable and friendly--told us he loved serving us at the end. Can't say enough good things about this place. You must try out Banana Verde.

Was able to snag a table at around 8 on a Sunday night. The restaurant is mostly vegetarian/vegan…read more The atmosphere felt like we were in a jungle cafe somewhere. It is very open and airy. What we ordered: the menu is pretty extensive, but we narrowed it down to the plantain chips and guacamole, hummus, and the asparagus vegan pasta. Everything was amazing, but my favorite was the hummus. Especially with the roasted carrots on top. These 3 dishes were perfect to split between two people. The service was great. They accept credit card and it was a fair price for the quality of the food.
