We got that "good feeling" like it was meant to be and went with it. She started sending us properties with our criteria right away, she was on it for sure. We never thought we'd be able to afford to live in 77055 so we rented for 5 years for the schools. If we could afford a house in the area it would've been a much older home requiring a ton of renovations and would've put us way over budget in the long run, so we were shocked when Shelley found us a new build with all the exact schools (elementary, middle school, and HS) that we requested to be zoned to. So we built something we loved and she was with us every step of the way. From meeting with sales for the builder, to coming to design appts, to inspections and walk-throughs, to closing. She even met with the builder on a couple of occasions when we couldn't be there due to scheduling or she would makes calls for us to the mortgage company to clarify things, we trusted her that much and still do! =) She had to put a competing builder's sales person "in check" when he was constantly calling after we moved on from their property, lol. She was always professional, yet, personable. I was an anxious first-time homebuyer so she explained everything to me along the way and calmed my nerves, from explaining what escrow is, to improved vs. unimproved land tax rates, timelines, etc. She's so thoughtful, she brought snacks if we had a day full of looking at properties, she even brought champagne, goodies, and a beautiful door wreath she had made to our closing meeting! What realtor does that, really?! She's a wonderful resource and has referrals for just about anything home related. We've been in our home over 6 mos. now and she's checks in on us and has even left thoughtful little gifts on our doorstep. I still call her when things have come up after closing and she's always responsive as the day we met here. She did not fall off the face of the earth after she got her commission as I've heard about many realtors, lol!
