2 years post surgery and the tummy tuck looks even worse! This man is just money hungryread more

I chose Dr. Madry for a tummy tuck in November 2024 to address the excess abdominal skin left after…read morehaving two very large babies. At our initial consultation on June 12, he was polite but seemed rushed and didn't spend much time discussing details. Still, he offered to perform the procedure at a reasonable price, so I decided to move forward. The surgery itself went smoothly, but recovery was incredibly painful. I couldn't stand upright for weeks. By January, I noticed swelling in my upper abdomen, which I initially assumed was just part of the healing process. Unfortunately, the bulge continued to grow rapidly, and I knew something wasn't right. I called Dr. Madry's office and was told he was leaving the country and wouldn't be available for another two weeks. At that point, the swelling was about the size of a lemon and getting bigger every day. When I expressed my concern, I was shocked by how I was treated. The office staff was dismissive, defensive, and even blamed me for not coming in sooner. Dr. Madry later called me from overseas and also made me feel shamed and at fault. They referred me to another surgeon at Good Shepherd who was covering for him, but I was told he wouldn't be able to see me for another week. Meanwhile, the bulge had grown to the size of a grapefruit. After some research, I realized I was likely dealing with a seroma--a fluid-filled pocket left behind after surgery. As a professional photographer, this growing mass made it extremely difficult to work. In desperation, I contacted my previous surgeon in Chicago, Dr. Michael Lee, who drained a significant amount of fluid from the area. I continued to see him for repeat aspirations--about ten times--until it became clear that this was not sustainable financially or logistically. Emotionally drained and hesitant to return to Dr. Madry after my experience, I resorted to draining it myself every few days. It's a painful and risky process, involving sterilizing the area and inserting a four-inch needle into my abdomen. Dr. Lee has now advised that I'll need another surgery to permanently resolve the seroma. It will cost $5,000 and require two weeks off work. I've had over ten surgeries in my life and never had any issues--until now. This has been my worst medical experience. Not only is the seroma still present, but the incision from the tummy tuck is large and poorly done. I also continue to have significant swelling that gives the appearance of a pot belly--on top of the seroma in my upper abdomen. Looking back, I deeply regret not investing in a more experienced and compassionate surgeon. I wish I had paid more for someone who would've treated me with care and delivered better results. This has been emotionally, physically, and financially devastating.

I had originally called the company to make sure I qualified for the bridge program and I did. Upon my almost 2 hr drive to his facility they informed me I was not covered and would have to pay $300! After deciding to just go with the removal, he then said he would do it for $200. I still politely declined and that's when he turned sour. He got very short and I wasn't even numbed when he went to cut into my arm, and it was a painful experience. He had me sign the paper and that was it. Me and my husband were very disappointed with our visit with Dr Wool this time around and will not be back. I would only come back for the nurses. Nothing else. Bad vibes were very present today.

The lady on the phone (wish I'd gotten her name) was SUPER-sweet; giving me all the info I'd need, timing, paperwork, website, directions etc. She was SO sweet. I hung up smiling. It's a rare thing nowadays to find a friendly Doctor's receptionist, most of them are mean with a capital 'B' !! My second experience was calling a couple days later to say "I can't wait a week to see you. Can you please see if there's a way to get me in sooner?" to which she searched and was able to get me in same-day. Now I realize this was probably luck, but i was THRILLED not to have to wait since I was concerned about what was going on with me. Fast forward to the day of my appointment, and man did I continue to be impressed! A NICE office, with sturdy furniture, and comfy chairs. FRIENDLY receptionists. I waited no longer than 8-10 minutes and was brought into the room. The doctor walked in within about 60 seconds. I saw Doctor Witkowski. He was very-friendly. Walked into the room cracking jokes, and introducing himself. He seemed to listen to what I was saying, looked me over, and explained what he thought it was. Overall, I would highly recommend this place. Everyone was great, and I felt very comfortable. They get 5 stars in my book ALL AROUND: receptionists, waiting room, Doctors, cleanliness & friendliness, etc... If you find yourself in need of a surgeon, check them out.

I have to take time off work for every appointment because they open later and close earlier than I work or am able to get there after work. For reference, I work 8-4:30 and am about 5 minutes away from their office. Their billing hasn't been brought up to speed with today's technology. The only option is to pay by check when you are invoiced by mail and the phone number for billing questions is to the office that has limited hours. (They also close for lunch.) I was billed $60 (part being a late fee $20). I paid $60 by check, mailed on 9/14/16. Received an invoice today, 9/28/16, that only shows I paid $40 and I still owe $20 for the late fee. I tried to call to ask them about it and of course they were closed so I went to the answering service. I asked the answering service if I could leave a message for the office in the morning and they stated they can't take messages only provide emergency contact to a doctor or cancel an appointment. If your office hours are minimal, as is the case here, and you pay for an answering service, I expect that answering service to be able to take a message and provide it to the staff for the morning. My office is open 8 AM to 5 PM AND we have an answering service that takes messages outside of those hours. If I had more options, I would find a new doctor, but I'm stuck. Maybe I should get a job there? I mean, the hours are sweet.

Besides being personable yet very professional, Dr. Ostoich and his entire practice is definitely up to date on all of the latest in eye care. And that's more important than one would think. Unlike all of the cheapie eye stores that don't do complete eye exams, Dr. Ostoich looks at EVERYTHING to be sure your eyes are healthy! My visits are usually about 45 minutes long as they're looking at my retinas, testing eye pressure for glaucoma and searching for cataracts. During one of his thorough exams on my girlfriend a few years back, Dr. Ostoich discovered tumors in her eyes and immediately sent her to an oncologist. Disappointing her gynecologist didn't find it first since she had just seen him, and that's where the cancer started. Dr. Ostoich was definitely the Hero in that situation!! If it weren't for his thorough eye exams, God only knows how much further the cancer could have spread before it was detected. An eye exam store in the mall would not have found this! And then there's the usual vision test. About 15 to 20 years ago, Dr. Ostoich switched me from soft contact lenses to, just as comfortable, gas permeable lenses due to the fact that my vision had been changing to the worse so quickly, at the time. I'm happy to report, my vision hasn't changed one bit since!! I'm still amazed that I have the exact same vision that I did so many years ago!! And it's great to see the Doc smile when he realizes the same thing, knowing he's done his job well. In Summary, Dr. Ostoich and his practice might cost more than going to For Eyes or any other cheapie mall store, but when it comes to your vision, I don't want to go cheap and neglect the health of my eyes. You get what you pay for!!

Their office is located in a multi story building in Hoffman Estates by the I-90 expressway. Their office seems newer with concrete floors/white walls being minimal and modern. It was easy to get an appt and I didn't have to wait too long as a first time patient. My first visit was a general visit to check for concerning blemishes and discuss some long-standing skin concerns. I was prescribed three different creams for three different areas as well as recommended an over the counter shampoo. I tried products as recommended and didn't see results. I recently reached out (3 months later) to follow up that items weren't working and was told I'd have to come back in because I didn't follow up. It was news to me as I was never told to follow up on my terms; I expect my doctor to reach out to me. Either way, I scheduled another appt which was another copay. I was recommended two new creams as well as a pill prescription. It's been a week and no pharmacy has reached out to me saying I have a prescription to fill and the pill left me with side effects within days so I stopped taking. I followed up with the office, they asked if I could come back in which would be ANOTHER copay. I sadly am deciding to cut my loses with working with their practice. I refuse to pay another copay three business days after visiting because they didn't ask the right questions when I was last in. I felt the PA I had was kind but other staff was not and only talked in medical terms which left me confused and hard to follow conversation/questions. My PA seemed like he did care but I am left feeling like they want my money more than finding a solution to help me.

I recently switched to a different dermatology practice not because of Dr. Beaird herself but because of how her office and practice is run. Her administrative staff do not return messages, they do not follow up with necessary insurance preapprovals, they cancel appointments regularly and then make you reschedule through text messaging or AI, they are unfriendly and they fail to process basic medical records requests. I've never encountered a medical practice that was so poorly managed.
